Hey all,

I used to take Yasmin, but decided to stop when it appeared to be the main culprit of the problems affecting my sex life (desire, ability to orgasm, etc.). I've been feeling fine ever since then, except...

... the weight GAIN. I'm used to hearing about weight gain when you start birth control, but not when you come off! I've probably already gained about 5-6lbs, and I've only been off it for about a week! My clothes don't fit right, and my stomach/waist, which have usually been fairly small (I'm pear-shaped) have ballooned out. This makes me uneasy both due to vanity (I'll admit it) as well as health problems in my family (lots of pre-diabetes/Syndrome X/PCOS in my family) that I'd like to avoid.

I exercise every other day and count calories/macronutrients, and drink water like an absolute fiend. At first I figured it was just the fact that Yasmin has that diuretic in it, but I feel like 5-6lbs is a lot, especially when 1) I drink so much water anyway (probably ~150-200 oz/day); 2) when I can feel the weight gain elsewhere (thighs, etc.), not just my stomach; and 3) when this bumps me into the (admittedly flawed) overweight category of the BMI scale.

Anyone else have any experience with weight gain after stopping HBC? Did it go away on its own, or did you have to actively try to lose it? Were you able to lose it? (For me it was nigh-impossible to lose any weight on HBC, and I'm hoping it's not the same while off it!)

Sorry for sounding so weight-obsessed; I was just really happy at my prior weight, both in terms of looks and athletic performance, and now I feel like both are affected. Any experiences are appreciated!

Alright, so I finally had my bartholin gland cyst taken care of this morning. I've had two others, but this morning, I got a word catheter inserted to hopefully stop these cysts once and for all. Unfortunately, I know there is still a ~20% chance of it coming back, but compared to it DEFINITELY coming back, it's a chance I'm willing to take.

My doctor didn't really tell me about aftercare. I asked a few questions and she answered them wonderfully, but she didn't make much conversation about it herself. Am I supposed to be pretty sore afterward? How long is this soreness going to last? I can walk and lay down without much discomfort, but switching positions in bed hurts pretty badly and sitting is just..unthinkable right now. Is it going to stay sore for the entire time I have it in?

Are there any tricks to a sitz bath? I've read different things about using epsom salts--should I, or not?
And do I need to take special precautions to keep the word catheter intact (like not be as active or something), or will it stay in even if I were to work out or be really active?

Thank you!

Hello all. So today I had my first colposcopy. It really wasn't that big of a deal, and four hours later, I feel no pain or cramping. However, I do have a few questions about what comes next.

First of all, my doctor said no sex for three days. This came as a huge surprise to me since I had read you should abstain for 1-2 weeks. What are your experiences with this?

Second, my gyn said we would most likely be freezing the affected areas away. She did not mention what this procedure was called and I was wondering if anyone can shed some light on this procedure.

Thank you so much for all of your help!

So I had my baby about 2 and a half months ago and since then had 2 periods. Both pretty normal and lasted normal amount of days. I noticed today that I had excessive cervical fluid when I wiped, and I'm wondering if that is from ovulation? I'm not used to that much fluid though.

I also have been exercising everyday and get a little crampy after it. I'm wondering if these changes are from the exercise (the cramps happen when I'm done exercising) but the fluid was excessive. Is that caused from exercise too or just ovulation?

I guess since having a baby a lot of things have changed (surprisingly aside from my cycle). Anyone have any thoughts and what did you experience after having a baby if you had one?

i've got some in-grown hairs, and i'm wondering if there's a better way of getting rid of them than popping them like pimples/using a tweezer to dig out the hair.

i know the ways to prevent them, but a few still end up showing up. :(

I just realized I have a yeast infection. The smell is foul and the secretions were not what I thought earlier today-when I started noticing the smell I figured it out.

Anyway, can you get a yeast infection from oral sex? Can it come back after being treated when you were given oral when you had it? I'm thinking that's how I got it and last time I just used the topical monistat no problem. But if I treat it again, will it come back if this person gives me oral again?
