 Hello,

I am coming to the end of my yeast/bv treatment and have been worrying myself about reinfecting myself. I have heard of a few ladies on here stating that they kind of "disinfect" their undies after they are over their infections and was wondering if this was something I should do. Maybe dump boiling water in a clean bucket with some vinegar?

Also I just took my last does of Difulcan about a day and a half ago and I'm still getting kind of white chunky discharge, about how long does Difulcan take before it makes the beasts die?

Thanks!

HELP!

Hi Ladies.
I've never posted here before, so I'm a little nervous-but, I don't know where else to turn for this!

When I was first started on birth control (back in July) I had just been diagnosed with Poly-Cystic Ovarian Syndrom. My periods lightened significantly and the pain eased; also, my cycle became predictable for the first time.
last month my period was extremely heavy, hermerage like, and the cramping/discomfort was completely unbareable. I actually had to stay home from work! and instead of a 5-7 day cycle it was only 3!

I went to my doctor. and she switched me from Tri-Sprintec (lower dose of hormones that increases over the course of the month) to Sprintec (a larger dose that stays the same all month long).

I woke up this morning with the all-too-firmiliar premenstral cramping. at least, that's what it feels like! but, I still have 2 weeks of hormones before I get to the placebos!

I don't know what to do!

I was trimming my pubic hair last night when I noticed a small pea sized lump near the entrance to my vagina. It's quite soft and I guess slightly sore when I press on it. What on earth is it? It's not really visible, and when I pull the skin taught I can't see anything (other than small spots that I've always had, Fordyce spots maybe) but there definitely is something under there. I've had numerous checkups in that region this year and nothing was seen before. I have been with my boyfriend for 18 months and we haven't had sex since last August. Any idea?

Hey all! Got another couple of quick questions, this time regarding BV.

I occassionally have bouts of what I believe to be BV (all the symptoms fit, and home remedies take care of the issue). I have 2 quick questions about BV.

1) I know that with Yeast Infections, it's possible to keep passing them back and forth between partners. (I'm female - I know it's possible for my male partner to have a YI without symtoms & keep reinfecting me). I'm wondering if it's the same for BV? I'm guessing not, but, well, I don't know. Seems to me that things tend to get out of whack in my vag after I have intercourse - the smell shows back up (that's the main symptom I have, nothing else really), and my discharge gets a little wonky for a day or so. Is he 'reinfecting' me, for lack of a better term? Or is it more likely that my vaginal environment is just sensitive to changes? I sometimes notice a change in smell and discharge after I, er...take care of business on my own....so I'm not sure what to think.

2) I recently bought myself some vitamins, and while I was there I picked up a bottle of probiotics. I know I've seen people here recommend taking probiotics if one is prone to YI's, but I'm not sure I should be taking them if I'm more prone to BV. I don't want to upset things down there. Generally speaking, I don't have these issues all the time, so I'm a little worried about introducing something new into my system that might throw me out of whack one way or another. So, should I take the probiotics or not? It's label says "probiotic complex with acidophilus dietary supplement".

Sorry for being so rambly/possibly incoherent. I'm still working on my first cup of coffee. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated!

So this week I decided to stack my birth control, beginning on Saturday night. Both Saturday and Sunday night, my roommate was already asleep when I came home so I kept the light off and took what I thought were my own pills. Neither of us noticed until I discovered today that I was actually taking her Yasmin, opposed to my Ortho Tri Cyclen. Is anything seriously wrong going to happen to me? And should I just begin taking my pills tonight like normal?

Thanks for any help!

EDIT: Will this have any effect on the effectiveness of stacking my pills?

Hello VP!

I have a question about HBC and headaches.

I am on Aviane (Generic Alesse), the 28-day pack, I'm pretty regular about what time I take it, almost always within the three hour window. I've been on it for a couple years now, almost three and I only stack on occasion.

The headaches are killer. The last three months I have had more headaches then I have had in the previous year. They are pain and dizziness and sensitivity to light and sometimes nausea. I would say they are migraines, but what I'm wondering is, is if they could be caused by my HBC? My mother once told me that she had to stop taking the pill because it gave her migraines.

Boo.

Random question: I have a ~4cm diameter cyst on my left ovary. The NP I saw today said that I needed to stack, starting now, so that the cyst would go away and I wouldn't develop any more. But... I thought that a] cysts are tied to your actual cycle, so stacking would just make it last longer, AND b] you don't ovulate on the pill anyway, so what's the big hullaballoo about stacking?

I'm just so frustrated with being told misinformation or even lied to. Nobody's willing to help me fix the cyst, just maybe possibly treat the symptoms, if I'm lucky. And then they complain when I need more narcotics, but that's caused by them denying me a solution, and it's just nasty.

I was also told today that I "couldn't" be having serious problems, since I just wasn't in enough pain. Um. I thought medical professionals weren't supposed to determine pain solely upon patient looks. The pain, literally, is so bad that, when asked, I say "I didn't know it was possible to hurt this much and not die." And yet I don't ~deserve~ a fix, despite not being able to function at all?

Thanks for reading, if you made it this far. I've got a bunch of write-ups being worked on, as this is a hellish ongoing saga, and I will keep you all updated as stuff happens. Thank you all for your incredible show of support thus far.
