hey vp!

is it possible for nabothian cyst's to grow and shrink in sync with your menstrual cycle?
I have a few on my cervix..i've had them for ever..but when i went to check my cervical mucus/check for any blood it felt like two of them were HUGE. I'm not too worried. if i think of it i'll mention something to my gyno when i go in november. (background info: period due on 8/14, 99% sure not pregnant, 27yrs old ,not on hbc, no history of abnormal paps)

thanks!

You guys are going to hate me, but follow up from here:

Even with all the positive reinforcement that the pregnancy chances were extremely, extremely low, I'm still freaking out.

For the past few days, my lower back and lower stomach/pelvic area have been crampy and painful. I have not experienced this before. It has only been about a week since the penetration (if you want to call it that) happened--I'm losing my mind, yes? There's no way I'm pregnant AND experiencing "symptoms" this early, right?

Hi everyone, I'm new here and I've been so glad to discover this great resource you have!

I'm curious if any of you ladies have gone to your regular general practitioner for a yest infection. I've only had 2 yest infections before, when I was younger (as in pediatrician-age), both while taking antibiotics, and there was never any abnormal discharge that I recall, just some pain and irritation, and a lot of itching.
Now I'm getting similar symptoms, but I'm not positive it's a YI. Again, discharge is normal and non-smelly, I just feel really irritated and itchy. I went to my gynecologist about a month ago for my yearly check-up and everything checked out fine, and I'm not sexually active right now, so I don't anticipate it's a bigger problem, but of course I do want to go to the doctor to get it checked out. The problem is, I have a really hectic work/class schedule and I don't think I'll be able to fit anything in with my gyno in the next few days. My GP usually has a more flexible schedule and could squeeze me in sooner, but I wasn't sure if she would just send me away to the gyno or if going to a GP for a vaginal issue is totally normal and acceptable.
I'm also dating someone who I'd like to be able to, uh, get closer to, so I'd like to clear this up as soon as possible (I should mention, this is going to be my first time, and to have a YI during the first time you have sex just sounds awful to me). I'm reluctant to use an OTC yeast infection treatment because I'm not 100% certain it's yeast, but if I were to use it when I don't have a yeast infection, would there be any negative effects? Is it worth the 20 bucks to just give it a try? (I know that taking the wrong medication for something is never good, but as I'm sure most of you can imagine the discomfort I'm in, I just want to be done with it).

Thanks!

This morning I called my doctor's office and explained my situation regarding my birth control pills being in heat at the limit or excess of what the tolerance ranges the package says.

Original post here: http://community.livejournal.com/vaginapagina/16781502.html

According to a nurse there, she said my pills should be fine. She said that exposure that would damage the pills' effectiveness would have to occur over a period of months of high heat. So hopefully a few hours or a day or two shouldn't be too bad.

Not sure if anyone here needs to verify that, but I hope it's helpful that I posted.

I feel like I already know the answer to this (stupid) question, but I just want to be safe. I recently started taking Omega 3 supplements. Will this interfere at all with my birth control? I'm on Yasmin.

Oh, and while I'm at it, what are some things that do interfere with birth control? I know antibiotics, excessive amounts of grapefruit, but what else?

Thanks!

I know these questions come up all the time, but I'm an HBC newbie! Sorry =/

I'm on my first pack of Alesse. I haven't missed a pill and have taken it at the same time each day. The first two weeks were great - my skin was better, my sex drive was higher and I had no negative side effects to speak of. I'm on my last week of pills and my skin has gotten worse, I'm in a bad mood (nothing majorly dramatic though) and I'm experiencing mild cramping and spotting.

I know that spotting is normal because Alesse is a low dose pill and I'm planning to stick it out for the recommended 3 months because the side effects haven't been that bad (in fact they were actually positive for the first 2 weeks). Can anyone explain why exactly spotting is common on a low-dose pill? Is it likely to stop eventually? What about the acne issue - has anyone experienced a worsening of acne before it improves on HBC?

Thanks a ton.

I have 2 small cysts on either side of my labia minora. On one side, the cyst is smaller than the other. The larger one is painful as it is closer to the skin leading to the vaginal opening, I know it's not an std because I have had these for as long as I can remember coming and going, it's just that this one is particularly painful and annoying. I just got a mirena iud, and I am very prone to dermatological cysts (my armpits are the worst affected area). I feel like they relate to my cycle, and that they relate to hair (I shave) or sweat or something. I also have a theory that they are bartholin blockages, because they're in that location. When I've tried to pop it (because I just want it to go the hell away! ack!) a small stream of slippery fluid comes out, and it smells like my natural bodily lubricant...nothing infected. The cyst isn't draining enough though, and I think it keeps filling up.
I know this is kind of...ew, but it's really frustrating me and I want to know what I can do and if anyone has had something like this before...also, what can I do to prevent them in the future?

Anemia

So, I don't think I'm officially anemic, but I want to see what may be going on here.

Whenever I would get blood tests, my Ferritin levels would be low - IIRC, between 14-19. The doctor never seem concerned, though, so I didn't worry about it.

But I just had a period, and I bled more than normal. A lot more, it seems. And my energy levels have been completely absent.. I just want to sleep. And sleep a lot. I got up at 10am today and went back to bed until 1pm. And I want to go back to bed now, but I won't let myself. I've also had major hair loss lately, but I've contributed that to the PCOS I am in treatment for.

I take a prenatal vitamin, plus I eat red meat 1-2 times a week. But could this possibly be anemia? Or am I in a different ballpark? I don't have insurance, and I'll make an appointment if I need too, but I just don't want to make an appointment for nothing.

Also - what about exercise? I have bellydance in an hour and a half, but I don't know if it would possibly help or hurt possible anemia.

Thank you!

I recently went to the gynecologist for my annual exam and she diagnosed me with a mild yeast infection. Apparently I had yeasty discharge although I did not notice any symptoms. I only noticed a day or two later, when I fingered myself and saw that my discharge was a little clumpy if I rolled it between my fingers. So, fast forward to today, I picked up a 150mg of fluconazole from the pharmacy and took it promptly. My question is, how will I know when I don't have a yeast infection anymore? Obviously, it's a bad idea to stick my fingers up there again, but none of this clumpy discharge ever showed up on my underwear and I have no itching/burning :S I'm afraid I had a YI for a while, but neither I nor my partner noticed. I've been diagnosed with a asymptomatic yeast infection before, so it's starting to worry me, and frankly making me feel dirty. I know that diet can have a lot to do with reoccurring yeast infections, but it seems ridiculous to me to cut out sugar / carbs / caffeine just because I have a vagina :( I'm also in a high-stress environment during the school year which may be a contributing factor. It's gotten the point where I don't even know what normal discharge looks like because of this asymptomatic paranoia! So I'm asking you, superstars, how can I stop this madness?!

This might not be the place for it but here goes:

My boyfriend was just diagnosed with Mono. He has had it for a couple weeks and obviously feels like crap.
We're in a long distance relationship and haven't seen each other for two weeks, but there was a lot of making-out when we did hang out last. I have a feeling that the damage has already been done so to speak and if I'm going to get it, then I'm already infected.
Havent really had any symptoms, but might go to the doctors just for blood work.
Anyways... we are hoping to get together soon, has anybody been in this situation, what to avoid  what to not avoid? Since he doesn't feel good I plan on a lot of downtime and feel-better time... just wondering if there are any absolute no-no's or advice about mono in general

Thanks so much in advance.

Hi, I have a strange question. I get a lot of cuts on my vulva that don't seem to have a source. They're very small, like paper cuts. They sting a lot, particularly during intercourse. They also heal on their own and then things are fine for awhile. I don't get them when I'm not sexually active with my husband for awhile.

Anyway, I have this one cut at the top of my vulva. It's a bigger one compared to what I usually get. It has me concerned because it's not only not healing, but it's also leaking a white discharge. There is no strange odor to it at all. Everything smells, looks, and feels normal other than this cut and the discharge.

I intend on calling my doctor in the morning, but in the meantime, any idea what it is? Or what I can put on it to help it heal?

Update: Thanks everyone! You've been a huge help!

So I think I might happen to have an infection...I usually use ACV but a friend recommended peroxide, which I might try instead (ACV kinda hurts). The thing is, I'm on the nuvaring now and don't know how it works with this.
Does anyone know, if using ACV or peroxide treatments with the nuvaring, do I have to take the ring out to do so? I'm in the middle of my cycle so I can't take it out and get a new one. Or is it ok to leave it in while using either?
Has anyone else ever done a similar home remedy while on the nuvaring?

Any experiences would be appreciated! Thanks.
