I recently started back on Weight Watchers, and now I'm ready to take the steps to start exercising a few times per week. Yay! The only bad thing is that I can't do high-impact exercises (such as running) because of my knees... Plus, I'm just not physically ready yet. I do have a bicycle, and I want to start with that, but from what I can remember (from when I last rode it), the bicycle seat hurt my pelvic bone/tail bone. I'd get home from an hour long ride (not vigorous, just a casual ride) and my vagina would be sore!

So, my question is, does anyone have a recommendation for a comfortable bike seat for women? Also, does anyone else have this problem with they ride a bike? ...So I don't feel like so much of a weirdo :(

I recently-as in last sunday...its saturday now-started a new birth control pill. On tuesday/wednesday I got two MONSTER zits that won't go away and are the bane of my existence. I haven't (yet?) experienced any other side effects from this pill and in my past experience with one other pill and the NuvaRing, I've never had any major side effects, especially nothing physical like weight gain or acne.

My question is this: Do you think these zits are from the pill or just horrible, horrible timing?

Hey all! I checked the tags and nothing specifically met my needs, so...

I am looking to buy a rabbit-style vibrator. What's the best one, in your opinion/experience? I was thinking this one, but I of course need to ask VP! Thanks in advance!

I am an avid exerciser, let's face it, I love it. Right now I'm a spinning instructor (indoor cycling) and teach 4 classes a week.

I also shave all of my pubic hair.

For some reason, I'm not sure if it's because it's winter and my skin is usually drier this time of year or what, but lately my girly bits have been feeling all my bike riding.

I don't really know how to describe it, but I almost feel dried out, like everything is rubbing together while I ride. I wear the padded cycling shorts, but I've noticed I've been getting little sweat induced red bumps around my pelvis (my dad gets them in the summer time when he's working out in the heat) and my girly bits just feel irritated.

So, I was wondering... do you have any reccomendations of creams or ointments or something that I could put on my vagina that wouldn't be too harsh and make me feel a little more moisturized? I put some diaper rash Desitin on, but I'm not sure it's really doing anything....

So, thoughts?

Thank you muches :)

Hi Everyone,

I've been a member of this community for  a while now,  but I've come out of "lurkdom" at last to ask a question.

For the last couple of months I've been experiencing night sweats that leave me drenched in the morning and hot flashes in the four or five days before my period and  the first one or two day of my period.

I also tend to get "hot flashes" to the point that I will suddenly feel quite nauseous because I’m so hot.

I'm nowhere near menopause and all the information on these types of symptoms seems  to be linked to menopause or pre-menopause. : /

I'm getting a little concerned here, as I hope this doesn’t mean that my body is going into an early menopause..... ? If any of you have had similar symptoms, I would appreciate your input.

I have recently been diagnosed with a probable “nodule” on my thyroid gland. I have to go for an ultrasound to verify my GP’s findings, but I'm not sure that these are linked in any way, as my symptoms usually appear before and/or during my period.

Many thanks in
advance

Hey VPers,

I recently was diagnosed with BV and was prescribed 2 a day Flagyl for a week. My pills are done, and I am infection-free. I got my period the day before my usual, as I am on Cylessa HBC. I have been taking my pills even though I was on antibiotics, but sex free. I have a very, extremely light period, which is great, but is it normal to be very light after antibiotics?

Thanks.

Dry Skin.

Hi everyone!

I tried to check the memories, but it seems they arent working properly.

Basically, I have some dry skin on the inside of my labia. My body is trying to heal it by itself, but that itches, and I scratch, but then it opens up again, making it worse. There is no new discharge or smell, but I am kind of raw and red. I have no trouble getting wet when sexually aroused, but I really dont want to have sex, because if a light scratch is going to make things worse, I can only imagine what would happen if I tried to have sex with my boyfriend! I recently saw my gyno, before this problem arose, and have no STDs or STIs. I havent had any new partners since then, so I think I can rule out any sort of STDs or STIs.

Any ideas as to what this could be or how to make it better? I think its just dry skin, and Ive been trying to fix it by using Rosebud Salve, which helps until my skin absorbs it, then the itching comes back. Any advise or ideas would be so greatly apperciated! Thanks in advance!

A nurse told me yesterday (at a consultation for an iud) that hormonal birth control which is released into your body locally - as in a nuvaring, or a mirena iud - affects only the reproductive system and does not change hormone levels in your body as a whole. I'm skeptical, because it seems to me that any hormones would have to be dispersed into the bloodstream in order to have an effect, regardless of their placement.
So tell me - do the hormones in, say, a nuvaring zap themselves to your ovaries, or are they absorbed into the bloodstream and dispersed throughout your body, or something else all together?

I went to the Dr for my yearly pap smear. I have never been pregnant, but the Dr asked me if I have ever had a termination or birthed a baby.

I replied with an emphatic NO, but he said that my cervix looked like I had. Huh? If that's the case, how is a cervix different in a woman who has had children?

Hey Girls, just looking for some opinions and advice here.

I'm 20, sexually active, on a monophasic pill and depressed. I take Lovan for the depression, which is the generic for Prozac I'm pretty sure. I know the pill can cause depression, but I know that it didn't for me because I was depressed before that (I've only been on anti-depressants for about five months), and I've been on the pill for nearly five years. I know that the pill can make depression worse. I also have zero sex drive, which is probably a combination of the two pills. Having no sex drive is really horrible because it causes a few relationship hurdles from time to time, which in turn makes me a little bit more depressed each time because I can't give my boyfriend what he wants, and what I should want. On top of that this month my bleeding went a little awry with random bleeding in the week before my period was due, and I get pretty bad pain.

So I was wondering; what form of birth control goes well with depression and depression meds? Like, interferes the least. I hate condoms, and I also use the pill to regulate my period so I don't want to go completely off birth control. But I am seriously considering changing. A friend has told me that the implant thing that you can get in your arm isn't good if you're depressed either. Any sort of pill is probably going to screw around with my hormones and depression, but I'm not really sure what else there is. So I'm looking for stories, if anyone is depressed and on birth control, or if anyone has any ideas on what might interfere the least.

Thanks in advance.

I'm thinking about changing my birth control. It's such a hassle for me to have to remember to take a pill everyday. SO, who's used the paragard? Experiences? Do you recommend it?

I'm quite embarrassed to ask these questions, hence why I'm here and not at the doctor, and even made a new LJ to ask. But they've been bugging my for a while and my trawling of the internet has yet to provide me with helpful answers, so I'm now I'm posting here. Also, doctors are somewhat impossible right now as I'm travelling/living in South America until October, and travel insurance only covers so much.

Sorry it's so long, I've saved up my questions! )

I just feel a bit of a freak because my first two questions seem to be problems (if they even are problems, and I'm not just neorotic) that I've never seen discussed before. The other I realise is relatively common, but I'm just hoping there's some sort of magic trick I haven't heard about haha.

Okay, thanks in advance for your help!

Hello all. Some questions about Plan B, birth control, and yeasties.

All right, so I've made some bad decisions in the past month. I've had unprotected sex twice in the past few weeks, and I used Plan B (well, I'm studying in the UK so it's a different pill called Levonelle) twice during my menstrual cycle. My last period ended probably around January 12. It usually begins the first week of every month. I was just wondering if anyone else has ever done this, and what effects it had on their period. Naturally, I'm terrified that I've completely fucked up my cycle and will be in a state of abject panic if my period is very late, if I even get it (what a terrible thought!).

As a side note, I'm refraining from sex (and drinking) for a little while and getting tested this week.

Also, I seem to have developed my first yeast infection- at lease that's what I think it is. I'm pretty itchy and though I'm not exactly "cottage cheesey" or smelly, I seem to be discharging more than usual. Should I see a doctor or just go to the chemist and get an OTC remedy? I don't have a doctor here yet (I'm a US citizen in the UK for a few months) and not sure if it's worth seeing a doctor. I could also get it checked out when I get tested later this upcoming week. Also, can Plan B cause a yeast infection, since it's kind of like birth control?

Oh one more thing, are there any UK residents that know the best way to go about getting birth control? Or, how abortions work here? (I feel terrible asking this, but I better prepare just in case. Boy, I've learned my lesson.)

Thanks in advance for any advice.

 Hi all,
I didn't want to post this, for fear of seeming repetitive, but I'm getting desperate. I have been diagnosed with BV twice in the last 3 or 4 months. Both times I was put on Flagyl, which didn't work either time - I love how my gyno didn't tell me that it often doesn't work with women. Thank goodness for this site, which showed me that I'm not alone... So, I've been trying the suggestions here - I started with douching a few times, but that didn't work. I am now using Yeast Arrest twice a day and taking Floragel once a day. To top it off, my boyfriend just broke up with me, so the one plus of that is that I'm not having sex to continue the irritation anymore. The odor is gone, but the rest of the symptoms (painful urination, mainly) are still there. Is there any hope for me? Has anyone else had this persistent of a case of BV? Thank you!
