Hello there, post-partum girl here again.

My twins are almost 4 months old now, and I stopped my PP bleeding at about 6 weeks... but then I got what I thought was my period / withdrawal bleed (went on a pop right away) about three weeks ago, and it will not go away. I've been bleeding and cramping for 23 days now. 10 days ago I switched from the pop to Femcon, skipping the inactive week because I was already bleeding. So I'm on my 11th full estrogen pill, and I'm still a mess. Has this happened to anyone else? What can I do to stop this infernal and painful bleeding?

Hi everyone,

I've been doing laser hair removal for about a year now. I have about 4 treatments left until I'm done. I do the full brazilian for the hair down there. I haven't had any bad side effects but I'm kind of paranoid. Is it bad to be shooting lasers near your vag? It just feels like the laser is so close when its treating the hair on the outer labia. I know this sounds ridiculous, but I always have this fear that the lasers will somehow go up my vaginal canal and obliterate my uterus. I figure that since so many women have had this done, it can't be that unsafe. But I can't find a whole lot of information on it and it freaks me out. Couple this with the fact that I haven't had a period in almost 2 months (I  got off the pill 2 months ago), and I start thinking that maybe I destroyed my reproductive system somehow.

On a related note, is it weird for it to be taking so long to get my period back? This is the second time I've gotten off Yaz, and the first time around my period came within 4 or 5 weeks. I've been trying to check my cervical position (I posted about that a few days ago, thanks for all your advice). It seems to be very high because only my fiance can reach it, and his fingers are much longer than mine. It's also quite soft, and  from what I read that indicates ovulation. But I haven't had that slippery cervical fluid that everyone talks about. It's mostly sticky, white and dry (like pieces of  dried rubber cement if that makes sense).

So - am I killing my vagina with the laser hair removal, and where is my period?! Thanks everyone, you are all great.

First of all, thank you so much to everyone who responded with support and suggestions.

I realized at some point that today was Thursday, and my daughter will be leaving with her dad for a few days.

Please no flak for this, as I know that with the concussion and continuing pain that I *need* to get it checked out as opposed to just being too pansy to deal with it until it breaks, I decided to put going in to be checked off until after the kiddo leaves in about an hour.

A dear friend donated some compazine, and I have a scrip for thorazine, so between the two I was able to get some fluids in and zombie sleep for a couple of hours.

The headache is just as intense today, but the aura is worse, so there is no longer any question of whether I'll be taking someone with me. I am absolutely unsafe to drive. (According to a sane person, I was unsafe to drive yesterday, too, but that's beyond the point.)

Anyway, my neuro has conceded to at least answering a page from the ER (he's off today) if they want to verify with him that I am indeed a patient and that I contacted him first.

Between being accompanied and having someone available to verify, my concern is considerably lessened.

Thank you again. You're all wonderful.

So, completely frivolous, but I'm curious...

...who else started their period this morning? lol!

I woke up to the oh-so-lovely stained undies that come from starting in the middle of the night. I'm crampy, irritated, about to start Finals week and SO not in the mood for mensies. Plus, every time I get my period I (for some reason) am under the impression that I'm the ONLY one in the entire world dealing with this bullshit and I've always wondered whose cycle lines up with mine and who's bleeding and annoyed along with me, haha.

So, who all is in the same boat today?

Urrgghhhh. I have three days left of birth control pills (aviane)left until my placebo week, but suprise suprise, I'm bleeding this morning. Whyyy is this happening? I didn't have sex last night or do anything unusual. I've been on it for five months now after switching from Portia so I'm pretty sure my body should be used to the hormones.

So I've had  a mild to moderate UTI  around November 8th. I tried kicking it myself w/  water and cranberry juice, but that didn't seem to work, so I went down and got some anti-biotics on the 18th, SMZ/TMP (Bactrin) for three days. When that didn't work, they put me on Cipro for another three days.  Still no effect. They even did a urine culture and nothing happened apparently.  On Tuesday, I went to the doctor's office again and this time I got a week's worth of Cipro. I'm getting really fustrated by this, because I would like to do all sorts of fun things but I can't, and they just keep throwing worthless antibiotics at me.  Has anybody else had this sort of problem before? I don't have any stds, all normal pap smear just a month ago....

My boyfriend and I recently had sex for the 2nd time a few days ago.
Problem number 1: It didn't last for more than 30 seconds because he kept slipping out on accident; is that my fault?
Problem number 2: It didn't feel like anything. It didn't hurt, but it didn't feel good either. Are we doing something wrong?

I read this little paragraph on WebMD today, and was wondering if anyone has ever tried this.  How far up would you have to put the pill?  Would it really dissolve within a day?  Does it lessen the effectiveness in terms of pregnancy prevention?  I'm curious!

Secret # 2: To reduce some side effects of birth control pills — including nausea — insert them vaginally.

“Inserting the Pill vaginally is not harmful,” says Steve Goldstein, MD, professor of obstetrics and gynecology at NYU Medical Center in New York City. “And,” he says, “it can be very effective, particularly if you are suffering with any nausea or vomiting for any reason, including from taking the Pill.”

This little known secret came to light thanks to an Israeli study published in the journal Contraception. Doctors compared two groups of women using the Pill. One group took the pill by mouth; the other inserted it into the vagina and let it dissolve. The result? The women who used the vaginal route had less nausea, vertigo, headache, breast tenderness, period pain, and stomach upsets than the ones who took the Pill orally.

Yaz

Has Yaz messed with your blood tests?
I just had a blood test done, and my T4 came back as high (12.6), meaning hyperthyroidism. However, I gained about 40 pounds for no reason, so I don't see how it would be hyper at all (but I've got some more tests to go through for lupus, RA and lyme). My calcium and chlorides were also very high. :(

Hi everyone,
I've had my period for nine years now, so I know how my body works when I'm on my period.  I'm also one of the few people who actually like having my period.  Anyway, I was wondering if anyone else's vaginal opening gets really sore when you're on your period.  I think I know a fair amount about how periods and reproductive organs work, but I don't understand why my vagina would get sore, so I was just wondering if it is normal.

small bump.

I wonder if any one can help me.

About four days ago I noticed a little bump turn up, I dont really know how to describe where it is, it's sort of between the lip and the wee hole, haha, I guess that's the vulva? I really don't know how to describe it sorry. I feel silly.

Anyway it seemed to come from nowhere, and it hurt at first. It doesn't hurt as much now, but it did bleed a little bit today.

It's quite hard, and a little bit like a blister. It's sort of like a little ball. It's just skin coloured, and possibly about 4-5 mm in diameter.

I'm just wondering if anyone has any ideas of what this could be? I'm sexually active, but I do use condoms, and have always used condoms with all three of my past partners. I was checked for STI's the other week and everything came back negative.

Thanks in advance guys.

I'm on HBC (Marvelon), and still getting periods from hell, despite having changed my prescription 2 times before. Heavy bleeding, cramps, the whole bit. I stack pills every once in a while, but I can't skip my period altogether this time around because then I'd get it next time when I'm on vacation. I'm just wondering, if I only take 3 days or so off the pills instead of 7, will my period be shorter and/or lighter?

Also, this would solve the problem of me having my heaviest days on the weekend.
