So a couple of weeks ago I wrote a post about having bad external itching. The doctor gave me yeast infection cream for it. Now I took it all but instead of 7 days it took 8 days. I skipped one day because I fell asleep sadly. Shortly after I finished the cream, the itching returned to my pubuic area, and labia majora. I remember that one person mentioned that it could be jock itch. How does a person treat that?

I could really use some help on this. :(

My Grandmother is 75 years old and has been experiencing vaginal bleeding for months now. She hasn't been to the doctor in 40 years (yes, 40!) and my Mom and I don't know how to convince her to go as she doesn't seem to understand how serious this is. It has apparently worsened today and she's been passing clots along with the blood. We told her that she must go to the emergency room but she said that she "doesn't want anyone to look down there." She also doesn't have insurance and is already living on a fixed income. We don't know what to do as we are very concerned for her health.

I should also mention that she's had an IUD inserted since the last time she visited the doctor. :/ Does anyone know of the health risks associated with this?

We all just found out about this today as she was afraid to tell my Mom. Any help would be appreciated. :(

Hi!
I have been on HBC since January. I started off on Loestrin 24 but it made me a little emotional/crazy so my doctor recommended Yaz (even though I am not a sufferer of PMDD)  I've been on Yaz for about 5 months and am starting to notice some really unpleasant side effects. The first being, I have severe anxiety. I have never before had tendencies of a hypochondriac but since I've started Yaz I am incredibly anxious about EVERYTHING. I hear about a certain disease on the news and feel obligated to google the hell out of it until I'm convinced I have it. It's RIDICULOUS! The second thing I have noticed is changes in my heartbeat. I have never once in my 20 years of life even noticed my heartbeat but since i've been on yaz I notice that sometimes I am short of breath very easily, which is weird because physically I am in great shape, sometimes I can't feel my hearbeat at all and sometimes it pounds like crazy, even if I am resting
. I did some research and saw a lot of instances in which women were experiencing increased risks of heart palpitations and blood clots in their cases of using Yaz. I never experienced any of this on Loestrin, but now that I have read all about how serious side effects can result from ANY HBC, I want to stop using Yaz but I am terrified to switch to another! My doctor recommended putting me back on Loestrin. I can't get a non hormonal form of BC (such as an IUD) because I have not had a child yet, and am only 20 years old. My boyfriend and I both do not like condoms and I am verrryy sensitive to spermicides and foams. So help me Vag Pag! Is Loestrin less of a risk than Yaz? I want to be pregnancy free but not at the risk of my health!

Okay, so in reality, I'm not very worried - but if you lived inside my head, you'd go crazy too. I'm a HUGE worrier. I worry about everything. So when my OBGYN called me today and said my pap smear came back with a-typical cells, and my HPV test came back positive, I freaked out a little.

A little history: For the last year or two, I've had most of my pap smears come back with a-typical cells and they go in and re-test and it's nothing. So, I'm not to worried about that. But the HPV thing is weird... I had the vaccine in the last year. I know there are up to 40 strains of it, and my doctor didn't seem too worried because I finished the HPV vaccine in the last 6 months, so I could still have the anti-bodies in my system.

I'm going in on Thursday and having another smear. Has anyone who had the vaccine ever had this happen to them? Thanks!

Hi ladies, i've used this community before and you have always been helpful so i thought id come back with this rather emabrrassing problem!

My urine smells sooo bad!

I thought it might be a UTI or cystitis or whatever but i've had no other symptoms and this has been going on for weeks and weeks now (i've had UTIs before and they've always seemed to flush away after a few days). I also thought i might simply be dehydrated but when ive kept track of my food and drink consumption there is no difference to what i was eating and drinking before this problem occurred, i have a two of three cups of tea a day, always drink water with my evening meal, the odd glass of wine, water throughout the day and water to take my pill (microgynon) before bed). I also eat quite healthily and have veg every day! So i dont think theres any cause for concern there.

I was also sent for a medical check recently as part of my job and my urine was tested for all the routine stuff but the only thing it wasnt tested for was pregnancy - i know this probably sounds silly but could it be a symptom of pregnancy???

Ive never been pregnant before but i know it can cause all kinds of crazy symptoms so i thought it was worth asking?

Thanks

I was talking to my younger brother today (he's 19 and i'm 23) and we were having a conversation about our family.

He's one of the few people that i can talk to, honestly, and I think he's growing up to be a great guy. He's female sensitive and totally enlightened, I'd be his friend even if he wasn't my brother. I think we rub off on each other in that sense.

And there was something our mother used to say that scarred us both for life. As in, we both remember and it still find it repulsive and totally against out our relationship ideology.

When my mom would talk about anyone that was pregnant (and she felt shouldn't be), an example would be a teen mother, she would always say they "shit out a baby," or "they might as well just shit out another baby."

Why would anyone think that is okay to say? We put both of our minds together, and, we still can't understand where she was coming from.

Does anyone else have horribly sex negative parents, if so, how did that affect your adult life?

OK, so I posted this: http://community.livejournal.com/vaginapagina/14360167.html  like 2 weeks ago about not being able to find my nuva ring that my Gyn had put in.  So I wait awhile thinking my period is coming any day now, I'm getting cramps, etc.  Well I was officially 8 days late today so I decided to call because I am NEVER that late, I'm usually between 21-28 days, so 8 days is way late.  So I go in to see her and it was in fact still there and it took her a little while to find it.  I'm not doing that again.

So here's my question, she gave me a trial of Seasonique which she said was like Seasonal.  What are your experiences with it?  I am actually looking forward to only having it a few times a year, its just an annoyance to deal with it every month.  When you do get your period is really heavy?  Do you experience alot of break through bleeding in between?  How long does it usually last?  Also, any noticeable weight gain while on it.  I was on Yasmin for years in college and didn't gain any weight and I'm trying to lose some right now, so is this going to make it more difficult to lose weight?

TIA!!

I used to have terribly heavy and long periods. Like, almost 9 days long. And even though I've been on the pill previously, the periods didn't really shorten.

Now I'm on triquilar, and my periods, after 5 months on the pill, have become 3 days long, and the flow is not much more than spotting.

This is excellent.

Anyone else experience this?

Farts

Ok so while veering a little off topic, this still has to do with the human body and I felt a lot better after talking about it with my mom. I figured hey why not here. So today I farted for the first time in front of my bf. Hugely embarresing.Thank god it was not while we were having sex. I blame my farting on my family who seems to do this more than normal.
Anyway my mom actually remembers the first time she farted in front of my dad. She said they were having a popcorn fight and he picked her up and squeezed her to hard lol and so she kinda farted on him. Now this is 30 years ago and she still remembers it.

Does anyone else have any stories they'd like to share. Maybe make me feel not so alone.

Thanks so much everyone. Next time it happens , Im just gonna shrug it off and laugh.

I had unprotected sex - twice - on the afternoon of the 26th, using withdrawal. (He didn't ejaculate inside me at all, at least not that either of us felt; it's mostly leakage or pre-cum I'm concerned about, especially since the second time was right after the first.) We usually use condoms, but it was kind of a spontaneous thing and we figured that if we used withdrawal this once, our chances were slim.

My periods have been 13th Oct, 13th Sep, 12 Aug.

Anyway, just to be safe, I took EC (two Postinor pills) today, around 48 hours after the sex, give or take a few. Tried to get it earlier, but couldn't.

The packaging and things I've read all say to take one, then the other after 12 hours, but the doctor told me to take them both at once. (I asked twice.)

I've read that EC can make you reeeally sick, but it's been almost four hours and I haven't felt anything so far. My question is: when should I start feeling the nausea, if I get it? Secondly, was it a bad idea for me to take both pills at once? I've checked the tags, but haven't really found any information about either of these things.

Oh, and lastly: assuming I was ovulating on the day of sex, but we used withdrawal and I took EC 48 hours after...I should be pretty safe, right?

Okay, I have always been SO curious about the nitty gritty details of labor and delivery. I am fascinated by those shows that come on TLC sometimes depicting natural and home births. I don't ever plan on having children but I just simply must know:

1. Is it really as bad as it is in the movies? Do people really scream/go crazy from the pain? Can you compare contractions to menstrual cramps to give me an idea of how much worse they are?

2. This is the big one... do a lot of women tear? How does THAT feel? Do they stitch you up or do you have to just let it heal or does it just simply depend?

3. After you give birth vaginally, is your vagina really never the same ever again? Is this only a physical, inside thing but also a visual, outside thing?

Please, don't spare me any details, I want it all no matter how questionable. It's either this or asking my boyfriend's sister who is pregnant for the second time and I'd rather not, haha. Thanks in advance!

I'm on day 10 of taking Ortho Cyclen for the first time. I am feeling really sick throughout the day for about 5 days now. If I don't feel sick I do after eating. Is this normal?

also....

I noticed I have 7 green (placebo) pills I was told when I take those I would be getting my period. However she also told me my period would not last 7 days but be shorter and lighter. So if I take the green pills 7 days on a row yet not have a period for 7 days will I still be protected? I noticed other brands do not have as many pills in the middle. My friend has Yaz and it only has a few if I remember. What is the purpose of this?

Thanks!

for birthcontrol pills...should i go to planned parenthood or the ob/gyn. i got my first presc. from planned parenthood but have stopped taking them for two months because i didnt get a refill. would it be better to go to planned parenthood or to a gynecologist? i don't have a gynecologist but got a referral to one by my primary doctor. in your opinion, which would be better to go to?

thanks for any input!

A question of curiosity;

I use menstrual cups. If I were to get an IUD, would I have to stop using them? Someone said this to me today.
