Skimpy pack of birth control.

So a while back I posted about having a very irregular period for the first time in my life - my period had been late, then I bled for almost a month, very heavily. I was advised to stop taking my birth control then, to get my actual withdrawl bleed - and then start again with a new pack. Here's where I begin to sound uneducated - but I knew the action I was making at the time and was not worried, circumstances, have however changed. Not having any money I stopped my pack which I was 3-4 pills into, gave myself the seven days, and then started again, where I left off. So, I had missed 3-4 pills when starting again. Throughout the month, I had a hard time remembering to take the pills - mind you, I have been on birth control for years (first nuvaring which I loved but no health insurance now, then tri-sprintec) and never really had a problem skipping pills. This month however there were multiple times at which I didnt take my pill for a day, then would take two the next day, or didnt take it for 2 days and would stack them all. I know this is stupid, but I wasn't worried about the pregnancy my boyfriend told me I could stop taking them all together if I wanted. Then I got into a car accident and shattered my ankle, so I am pretty sedated from my painkillers, and, four days ago, we ended our relationship - a step that needed to be taken for both of us to progress as individuals. So now I'm stuck in bed, without my boyfriend, 3 days into the placebo week of a very stupidly taken pack of birth control - my stomach feels weird, my back is sore, im getting migraines, and I'm really tired. Diareah too - so maybe I am just sick. I'm starting to have baby dreams again, but I'm a)paranoid b)way at the other end of the spectrum want a kid so badly that it could just be my imagination running overtime.

Advice?

Bleeding on the Pill

I just finished my last active pill of the month yesterday. I've been on it for 9 months. However, on Tuesday evening I had discharge with a long streak of fresh red blood in it - about the width of a hair. Then yesterday morning, my discharge was brown as if it contained dried blood. Tuesday I had experienced a stingy feeling, so I figured I'd somehow scratched something internally. But then last night I had sudden discharge with period-colored blood in it. There was no blood this morning (I used a tampon). I took a pregnancy test about two weeks ago and it was negative.

Last time I was supposed to have my pill-withdrawal period, I traveled and thus it was late by a few days; my guess is that there was still some period blood left over that got stuck when I started the new cycle and my body couldn't hold it anymore, but that doesn't make sense given the relative freshness of the blood. Besides that, what could it be?

so i'm on birth control and it's been great so far. unfortunately, this month's pack i left out in the heat so the hormones have been affected. i started my period much earlier than i should have. i got it last friday when i should have got it yesterday. anyways i'm on the placebo week now but my period is STILL here and it's not even lighter. it's been about the same flow since i got it 6 days ago. is this because of the lack of hormones my body has been getting because the pills were affected or what? it's just kind of scary because even before i was on birth control my periods were never this heavy or lasted this long. it hasn't even shown any signs of slowing down.

  I know there are a million different YI posts, and please delete mine if its been done too many times, but heres the story.
Had a UTI two weeks ago, went on antibiotics(forget name) Was on them from Sept 5-7
Then! developed an Upper Respiratory Infection and was prescribed antibiotics , keflex, and have been on them since the 12th and will stop taking them on Monday the 22nd.
Also, my boyfriend and I have been using condoms because of me being on the pill, and that AB screwing with those. 
On Monday we had sex and we used a flavored condom, for vaginal intercourse. (We were out of regular!)
So, Monday night started having yeasty feelings. 
Burning, itching, etc etc. Last night I finally went and bought a generic brand of Monistat-1.
Today i am MORE swollen, and dont really feel any better. I inserted an acidophilus tablet into my vagina, and I am hoping that will help.
Are there any other ways I can make myself feel better? Or should I wait it out the 3 days and then go to the doctor if it isnt better?

Monostat 1 day - how long does it hang around?

Dear wonderful VPers,

How long will Monostat 1 hang around in my girly bits? The package says not to have intercourse while using the product, and that it will lower condom and spermicide effectiveness. So if I use it around mid-day today, around when can I say I am 'no longer using the product' so I don't have to worry about these effects?

So I'm not on birth control, haven't been since January and there's a less than 15% chance (I say this because when my boyfriend and I are out of condoms, he's very good at controlling himself with withdrawal) I'm pregnant.

I'm in the second week of my cycle and for the last 3 days I've had brown breakthrough bleeding, bleh. I heard ovulation bleeding is only a couple of spots and doesn't last very long at all... This is more... What's the deal? Could stress cause it?

And what's a quick fix to stop this? I don't want to be feeling gross when I see my guy this weekend...

Appointment for BC

Hi ladies, I have a quick question about getting some birth control and what to expect from an appointment I have later next week.

So I'm new college student at my towns JC, and part of the cost of going there is getting a certain amount of medical care, and there is a registered nurse there and they give out BC and everything, so I made an appointment to see her and hopefully go on BC soon (I think I'll go on Nuva Ring, it seems best for me. Opinions on NR anyone? I'd like to hear some experiences with it. ) Thing is, what should I expect from this appointment? I'm not to worried, but I'd like to be prepared on any examinations I might get. I'm sexually active, 18, and have never had a pap smear or other type of pelvic exam.

Hair down there

So i find it incredibly frustrating that i have to wait a really long time for hair along the bikini line to grow before I can shave it and have it look smooth and not cut myself. Is there anything that I can use so I can remove stubble sooner? Electric razor? Veet?(yeah I know it is a baaaad idea to get that to close to lady parts haha). I exfoliate and all but it still cuts like crazy if i don't let it get long first :(

Monostat 1 & condoms - another question

Buutt, I forgot to ask HOW the Monostat will affect condoms. Will it make them break, melt, become permeable to sperm? Also, Monostat says not to use spermicide with it, so there goes my backup...? Or not? And it's not a BAD yeast infection, so I know it's not going to be killer painful if I decide to go ahead and try. My roommate keeps advising me that shes done the same thing and was completely fine, so I don't understand whats up with all the warnings on the directions.

I took the last of a 3-night suppository last night ... to try to cure an eeevil, never-ending yeast infection.

I'm heading to the pool in a few mins, and I'm kind of anticipating sex this weekend.

Will either of these activities screw up my vag's pH? .... should I avoid ..?

Consistent pain during sex

Recently I lost my virginity, and that was a singularly awful experience. I've never been able to use a tampon, so I knew that would happen and I thought it would get better.

Here's the thing: it hasn't. Despite copious usage of foreplay and KY, it's still uncomfortable for me. There's only been once where we've even been able to finish, and then I just felt raw.

Help? I don't know what to do in this situation. All the advice I've gotten is "lube and foreplay" and clearly neither of those are helping.

I'm well aware that in the grand scheme of things I'm being stupid and you can tell me to that effect. There are worse things such as war, famine, death, pestilence etc and yes, I know that I should be happy for all the things I have, but right now I feel I need to fix myself. I know that I need to take a step back from all this and try to chill, I just don't know where to begin finding out how/if/what and what to start on first.

I just started my nuvaring on the second [1st tuesday] of this month.

i absolutely cannot have my periods when they're going to fall if i take it out on the third tuesday and put it back in a week later. it would make me super sad.

so, with the nuvaring, its still effective if i leave it in for FOUR weeks instead of three, correct?

so i could leave it in four weeks, take it out and have my placebo week, and then leave the second one in FOUR weeks, and have my placebo week then?
