First, question: I have finally gotten my period. And I say finally because the last couple of months have been me making a running joke of, "Oh no, I'm pregnant!" when in fact, I'm a virgin. It's because my period has been coming like...every 40 days instead of the standard 28. I don't know if I just started noticing this and it has always been this way (I'm 19, got my period when 10) or if this was a recent development, but I'm leaning towards the latter. So why would this change come about? Is it something to worry about?

Also, anyone have any suggestions on masturbating to orgasm by g-spot? I swear, I can't find mine. And oh have I tried.

Also, this is an old, old post, but my favorite here: a post showing members' body parts. Some of us probably would contribute! I know I would! So can we update it? Anyone?

I'm extremely puzzled over this one and thought "well there are probably people on v-p who can help..."
About two weeks ago I started to get some mild itching on my inner labia after an all-day sex marathon. I thought it was just soreness/dryness and ignored it 'til the itching got worse; I immediately thought "yeasty beasties!" and picked up a Monistat 3-day. This has worked for me in the past but this time it seemed like something was terribly, terribly wrong - the external cream didn't make a huge difference in how much I was itching and the suppository BURNED. I was itching and burning so bad after inserting the suppository that I was up all night crying. That had NEVER happened to me before and I have treated about a half-dozen yeast infections. I thought maybe it was a fluke 'til the next night - and the next - brought the same agony in my ladyparts. I cannot begin to describe how much it sucked. The itching was gone about a day and a half later. I never had any unusual or smelly discharge, and I had gotten that with the previous YI's.
Fast-forward to today - again, after another all-day marathon - and the mild itching is back! I can't help but wonder if I shouldn't try gentian violet or some alternative remedy this time (if it is yeasty beasties) seeing as how I have no desire to repeat the unspeakable horror that was my last run-in with Monistat.
Is this just a really unusual YI? Could it be a UTI? Is my vagina boycotting Monistat? Could my partner have yeasty beasties living on his boy-bits, and thus be passing them to me? (He hasn't had any symptoms of thrush, but you never know) What should I do? Helppp!!

Timing

I'm on the generic for Seasonale, which is a Progesterone pill. I usually take it within a few minutes of the right time each day. Occassionally I'm late, but always within an hour of the time I was supposed to take it. Is that bad/can I get pregnant this way?

TIA!

Edit: Wow I didn't know it was a combination pill! Thanks guys. The packet also says that up to one day late is okay, so I'm not going to worry about it.

I know this isn't a vagina question, but I have to ask...

How badly will my breasts drop after I have children one day? When you have a baby is that it for perkiness?

I took my ring out on Tuesday evening. It's now Sunday afternoon and I have no period yet. I've read here that technically your period can come any time during the off week, so is it too soon to take a test? There are a number of other things that could be causing wonky periods for me but I just want to get the most obvious one off the list of what-ifs asap.

Hello ladies!

I got a couple of questions for ya.
1.  About how much water do you retain near/on/around your period?  I'm just curious because I'm due for my period Monday night, and I noticed while weighing myself at the gym today I'de gained a bit of weight (bah!)

2.  While trimming my pubic hair, I managed to cut my girly bits.....(and oh my lord, did that hurt....I nearly cried).  I immediately put pressure on it, and washed it (luckely I did it in the shower lol...).  Been keeping an eye on it, and it stopped bleeding after a few minutes.
Other then the washing it, wearing comfy, loose underwear, and only touching the area with clean hands....is there anything else I should do?

Thank you so much girls!

Hi everyone. So I'm going on vacation in two days, and my period is already a day late. I started drinking parsley tea a few days ago hoping to get it to come a few days earlier, but no luck. Now that it's late I'm probably going to get it smack dab in the middle of my vacation. So now I'm wondering... any methods of delaying my period? My cycle is a bit screwy right now because I stopped taking hormonal birth control (low-ogestrel) right in the middle of a pack during exam week due to really horrible nausea. I'm sorta wondering whether or not it is safe/advisable to start taking whatever pills I have left to stall it another week. I have 11 active pills left in the pack. Obviously I don't care about the actual birth control part, but I'm also nervous about messing up my hormones. Thoughts?

My period ended on April 26 and on May 8 and 9 I had unprotected sex with my boyfriend. Then on May 9th, I decided to take the morning after pill to be safe and I am not on any BC. Around the end of May, I had a VERY light period with brownish looking blood that only lasted about half a day. Well, it's June 15th and I am just curious, if the morning after pill causes these things? I took one pregnancy test and it was negative.

I just switched from TriNessa to Yaz, and I'm getting some pretty strong side effects. I've been dizzy all day today (to the point of not being able to go into work). I was wondering if anyone else got this?

This is a little gross, I hope it's not too much information for anybody, but whenever I shave my bikini area I get these really intense ingrowns that are almost like cysts...they're round and elevated above the skin and if i try to pop them, they leak blood and pus (sorry, nasty i know) for weeks until I've finally picked at them for long enough the ingrown hair comes out. Does anyone know what the cause of these are, how I avoid them, and/or how I get rid of them? I know waxing would be one way to dodge these in the future, but waxing is so expensive that I can only afford to do it every so often and have to shave in between. Thanks : )

I was on Ortho Tricyclen Lo for about a year and my prescription ran out. I'll be going to see my gynecologist soon and hope to discuss different types of BC with him. I really don't know what kind I want though and it's something I've really been thinking about. So I guess I'm just looking for your opinions on the different kinds of BC (different pills, shots, patch, IUD, etc). How they work for you, if you had a lot of side effects etc. My main concern is actually something that will help lessen my mentrual cramps, but I'm looking at anything really.

I've been thinking about getting a VCH, and I'm wondering if it would be a good idea to go in for a general checkup beforehand, just to make sure I'm not harbouring some sort of unnoticed infection in my ladybits.  I don't have any symptoms of anything, although I have noticed a strongish smell that comes and goes as it pleases.  its not fishy, yeasty, or even particularly foul, just stronger than what I would consider normal.  But it has got me thinking that if I am going to be putting holes in myself, maybe I should make sure that there really isn't anything wrong with me, just as a precaution.  Or am I being paranoid?

nipples

You guys were so helpful the other times i had question, i wanted to ask one now, that ive been wondering about for a while.

I know nipples come in lots of colors shapes and sizes and all. Mine are a little small, but they always look kind of...bruised. Not red or pink or brown, but purple. Like someone had been pulling on them or something. They never hurt or anything, but i was just curious if this was abnormal, or just one of the many shades of nipple.

I just ordered my first menstrual cup ever (Keeper Moon Cup). A few months ago I posted a similar question to this, but as I've become more educated, I've thought of more things to ask.

So I suffer from recurring BV infections around my period. My most recent infection has lasted the entire month--all the way from one period to another. I haven't had sex in a month, I haven't peed without burning vaginal pain in a month, I haven't sat without cringing, or even masturbated. I tried switching soaps, buying all white, cotton underwear, everything. Finally, over the last two days, the infection started to subside by what I can only attribute to magic. Today, when I was perched on the toilet and singing a rhapsody to non-burning, non tar-smelling pee, I was extremely dismayed to wipe and see blood. These days, my period only brings itchiness and pain and uncomfortable menstrual products. So this morning, possessed by some sort of mania, I picked up my mother's sewing kit and hand stitched myself a few very rudimentary pads. And then I got on the computer and ordered myself a menstrual cup.

My questions:

1. Because I didn't plan for this menstrual spree, I had no real fabric around the house. Not to mention the fact that I've never sewn anything in my life. I basically made my pads from two layers of towels. I used one all day today and it was comfortable and absorbent and dry and everything I've ever dreamed a pad could be--and it hasn't irritated my BV in the slightest. But looking on the community diy_pads, I've noticed that no one else seems to have towel pads. Is there something I'm overlooking here? Are they uncleanable? Is towel a bad pad material?

2. There was an old discussion about BV and menstrual cups in the community menstrual_cups, but it didn't exactly answer my question. Can I reinfect myself with BV if I don't sterilize my cup well enough? And what exactly would constitute sterilizing it well enough? I am currently slogging through all of the old entries in the menstrual_cup community on cleaning, and there's a lot of conflicting advice.

I was watching this show today and commercials for this KY product kept coming on. I was wondering if anyone had used it and what they thought, because my boyfriend and I find it interesting and are considering experimenting with it.

Thanks!
