Hello again all you helpful ladies,

Well, let me get to the point...I'm taking OTC-lo and while I normally take my pill on time (11pm) there have been a few times where the minutes fluctuate a bit. Like anywhere from 11:00 to say 11:50pm. I know, bad thing. I do not believe I've ever taken a pill beyond 12:30 am (as in, I'm out on my way home, and I didn't make it on time so I took it as soon as possible which is before 1 am). So I'm never more than a half and hour late with my pill. However, again the minutes do change.

I recently had condom-less sex with my boyfriend (I was caught up in the moment). I know, I know, my anxiety is horrible so I should NOT have done that and I don't plan to, again. There wasn't any cum at all (we did it between 1-5 min and he can last waaaaaaaaaay beyond that) and he said there was no pre-cum (apparently he can feel it coming out if there is any).

Should I run and get plan B (as in, should I if this situation actually warrants it, not you know "Take it to make you feel better")? And what exactly is the window of perfect use? I know missing a pill is bad, and makes you a typical user especially if you're jumping around hours, but is a three hour range good?

Again, thank you for your advice!

And I plan to be more careful with my anxiety :)

Although I have had sex several times (up in the hundreds), my hymen is still in place (it literally cuts my vagina in half.) It is fairly thick and causes sex to be painful to the point where I sometimes need to stop completely.

I have spoken to my gynocologist and she will not snip it for me and advised me not to do so, either.

Does anyone have any advice?  I would really like to be able to enjoy sex more. Inta

I want to go on the pill, primarily for hormonal acne.  Is there any website that has a list of all the different kind of BCPs and the pro/cons of them?  I know it's important to 'talk to your doctor about what pill is right for you', but because of some laws here (Wyoming) there aren't a lot of doctors, it takes forever to get into one, and the pharmaceutical reps are all here pushing their drugs.  I can't count the number of times the docs here have tried to push drugs I don't need on me.  I don't want to go in, ask for BCP, and have her push the latest trendy brand on me.  :-/

Rash

I started my period on Saturday morning. I have been using my DivaCup mostly but last night I used a pad, which I believe is what caused a rash. I noticed it in the shower. It's really red and it burns. Any ideas on what I could put on it that is safe? Thanks in advanced.

Hola!
I was wondering if it's possible for one's vagina/labia to be allergic to semen, but not the rest of her body?

has anyone in this community become infertile due to BV?

I went to Planned Parenthood today to get an IUD inserted. My fiance took me there, and I was very, very nervous and wanted him to be in the room with me. The nurses refused to let him in. One of them was like "Don't worry, I'll be in the room with you!" and I thought "gee, thanks... but I don't even know you..."

It turns out they were unable to dilate my cervix enough to get it in today. There's another doctor who will be in on Thursday who is "good at dilating cervixes (cervices?)", so I am going back.
My fiance and I would very much like to both be there. Is there a particular rule against me brining someone in with me (or against them not letting me bring someone in), or is this just up to the doctors/nurses? Anything I can do or say to allow him in with me?

--------
On another note, I do want to comment that I am disappointed with Planned Parenthood's administrative staff. They've overcharged me twice- today for my IUD they almost charged me *double* the price, and I flipped out and told them how I called 3 times to verify the price because they overcharged me last time and I was cautious... after I refused to pay double the price, they called another office to double check, and apparently I was right to begin with.
I don't know if this issue happens in all their offices, but it's happened to me twice so far.

I've been using a size small Mooncup UK for a couple years now, and I am concerned that it may be reinfecting me with BV despite my diligent boilings/cleanings. So, I'm looking to buy another cup and interested in getting a different kind just for the fun of it. Maybe I'll like another one better? There is a size chart at the bottom of the following link that confuses me.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Menstrual_cup

How can the Mooncup size B be larger in width and stemless length while holding 10 ml less than the small Lunette? This makes me think that something is wrong with the sizes listed, so I am trying to look at directly at the websites, but it seems to be accurate.

My vagina seems to be on the shorter side. I cut the stem entirely off my Mooncup (and even shaved off the very bottom of the cup), and have to fiddle with angles and tilt it quite a bit to make sure it is below my cervix and not sticking out of my vagina. So it is really important that I get the shortest cup possible.

Blah. Thanks for help.

Two questions:

1. Has anyone tried VCF? Vaginal Contraceptive Film? I'm currently "taking a break" from the hormonal birth control, because I didn't want to pay for it while I wasn't in a relationship anymore, and now I'm in a relationship and I want a better, more comfortable method besides condoms. See, I'm in a long distance relationship and when I see my boyfriend we do it like rabbits and eventually condoms make us both sore, but we still want to keep having sex and neither of us want to have unprotected sex... sooo... I thought VCF would be easy. I would consider a diaphragm, but I can't see my doc until September, plus I hear they're very expensive. I read that VCF is 94% effective and only 2% of people who tried it experienced burning/pain due to the spermicide. I would be willing to try it, but I know that it dissolves and is most effective 15 minutes after insertion when it dissolves, and I think I also read that it's like gel kinda after it dissolves, so would my boyfriend be able to taste it during foreplay? I don't know... I don't want to take away from the romantic atmosphere and run off to the bathroom to insert this stuff into my vagina. Haha. I'm also not sure about the sponge or its effective-ness. I've talked to my friends about this stuff and I get mixed reviews.

2. I have owies on my labia that are, I believe, from wearing lacy panties while I'm at work. I'm chafing or something. I think that the lace rubbed me the wrong way... basically, and now I am in a lot of pain, like wincing when I walk and sit down, and its really awful when I pee. Its happened to me before (damn lace panties) like, a year ago, on the side my leg next to my vagina and I was advised to use diaper rash cream and when I did it went away, so I stupidly used diaper rash cream on my current problem and it burned and stung so bad that I had to hop right back in the shower and wash it off. I mean, if you can put it on a baby shouldn't you be able to put it on yourself? I don't know... I don't actually have a rash, I just have two little spots that are really sore and inflamed (not like a pimple or anything) and I know for sure that I am STI/STD/whatever free and all that wonderful stuff. Could I try Neosporin or something like that? I don't know what would be safe and what isn't, but I have GOT to have some relief because it hurts to walk and I have to work a really long shift tomorrow, which will consist of standing and walking and running around a lot...

Thanks a lot!!

I have a feeling I might get shot or flamed for saying this. :-/ I got my mirena IUD put in last summer about a year ago now. I haven't had my period for a year and I feel like I have been missing it lately. Maybe I just miss the amazing period sex [probably TMI].

I sort of feel robbed and like a part of my femininity is missing. I'm assuming the feeling will probably go away, but the thought of going four more years without my period makes me feel uneasy right now.

Although when I found out someone i was sleeping with tested positive for gonorrhea and that if I tested positive for it I would have to get my IUD removed. I was a bit upset thinking Oh- nozz what will I do? Can I remember to take a pill again? What if I get pregnant. But my test actually came back negative, so I took the rediclous amount of antibiotics for no reason.

Edit: Thanks for all the help! I went MIA for a few days, so its taken me some time to respond.

I'm currently on my second round of Depo and didn't let any time gap in between or anything.
Recently my SO has came inside me on two different occasions which is unusual because we usually use condoms for double protection.
Today I came back from the gym and a relativley tough workout to find that I was cramping pretty bad and spotting a bit.

Is there chance of pregnancy and implantation bleeding?
I understand that it spotting is common on Depo but I've never had the accompanying cramping. Sunday we had had some rough sex with no problems, has anyone had cramping and bleeding 24+ hours afterwards? Or cramping / spotting after a lot of exercise?

Thanks alot it advance, hope it helps other superstars as well.

This is my first post, but I look forward to becoming an active member of this community.

My question is somewhat complicated. My period is super regular. As in, it shows up every month on the 28th like clock works, for at least the past year. Well, on the morning of April 28th my boyfriend and I had a condom break, so I purchased and took Plan B for the first time, just to be safe, and got my period that evening. My next period came three days later than my typical cycle, starting on May 31st, which I attribute to the Plan B. Wanting to avoid future troubles like the condom failure, I made an appointment with my GYN to be put on birth control. I actually had the appointment today, and plan on starting my pills with a Sunday start after my next period.

Here's where things get odd... On June 14th, my boyfriend and I had another condom failure (my luck is ridiculous this way, I suppose...). Frustrated to have to take Plan B again, but wanting to not take any chances, I purchased and took Plan B that very evening, within hours of the condom failure. We had just barely initiated intercourse when the condom failure happened, and stopped as soon as we realized (and realized almost instantly), so ejaculation had not occurred.

Well, I was reading online today about Plan B, and I read about how Plan B works, and that it is less effective if you've already ovulated. So here's where I'm concerned... Based on my last period, which began on the 31st due to the Plan B, would I be likely to begin following a cycle based on that altered cycle, or would I be likely to revert back to my normal cycle in which I begin menstruating on the 28th of each month? IE: What are the odds that I had already ovulated on the 14th?

I initially felt pretty relieved after taking the Plan B, but upon thinking about this, I've gotten myself incredibly nervous. Like nauseous and shaking nervous.

Hi everyone,

I thought I had decided I wanted to get a Brazilian. My long-distance boyfriend is coming for one month this summer, and I don't want to waste my time while he's here with shaving, and it'd be a nice surprise for him ;) But after reading VP posts, and seeing that video someone posted a year ago of a girl being waxed.... AAAAhhhhhhh!!!!!

1. I only have one chance to make my vulva look nice. My skin isn't particularly sensitive, and I'm not very good at shaving, so waxing makes sense, but in your gals' opinions, is the risk of irritation worth it?
2. Many posters said after their first time, there was still a lot of stubble. Have you found this?
3. Can anyone recommend a good place in Manhattan? I'm hoping to pay $100 or less, but I'm open to paying more.
[identity profile] to-wong-foo.livejournal.com

Not vulva related, but the way this is going it'll end up there.

Thanks!  This place is awesome :D

EDIT: Thanks all!  It was an allergic reaction to something.  Dunno what yet.
