I apologize if this has been discussed before but I did check the tags and found nothing so here goes:

I'm on HBC (microgynon 30) which means I have regular, light and short (3-4 days) periods. My boyfriend and I have an active, healthy sex life and we don't use condoms.

For around a day or two after my period I find penetration (be it with finger or penis) painful. If we have sex just the once that day then it's only painful for around 10 seconds when he's entered me and then everything's fine but if we have sex again that same day it gets almost unbearable and I find I dry up at the point of penetration which can also be very frustrating on my part.

It's hard to describe the pain but it's a sort of stabbing, slight burning pain.

I don't think it has anything to do with improper lubrication or anything as I'm always aroused way more than usual after almost a week of almost no stimulation for me. The only thing we can think of is that I'm overly sensitive after my period because not only is it painful but my clitoris is unbelievably sensitive.

Hey ladies, I've finally been blessed with a partner with some stamina in the bedroom, and now I feel like I am the one who isn't up to my own standards!
If I have sex for a slightly-extended amount of time the joints in my hips, [more my right one but sometimes my left] like, buckle and are extremely painful until I stop the intercourse and give my leg a break and move it around.. quite a mood killer. A lot in missionary position, but it happens when I am on top too, as I thought it might have had something to do with my legs being held upright for a period of time..? The boy thinks it might be nerves getting pinched or something. Has anyone else ever had this? Any ideas or exercises to make this stop?? Thanks!

Ok I think I lost a sponge in my vag when I had sex last night. It either fell out while having sex, (which seems unlikely because I would think I-or my partner- would have noticed that!) or, it got pushed waaaay far back. I searched the bed, no luck, so proceeded to search inside with my fingers. Nothing! I am officially quite freaked out. I really do not want to go to the DR and tell them I lost somthing in my vag! Plus I don't get paid until Friday. Ideas? Help!

Hey all,

Feministing has a piece up about a woman's experience with vulvodynia. I thought it might be of interest to many of you in the community.

A (Chronic) Pain in the Vadge

Edit: Could a mod please tag this? I tried to tag the entry with "vulvodynia," but it told me I can't add tags. Thanks!

I have once again contracted a UTI (yay for forgetting to pee after sex!) and I'm curious just what kind of risk I have taking cipro with my oral contraceptives (I'm on Aviane 28). I've already started the Cipro and I'm just not sure whether I need to use a condom or not if I decide to have sex within the next week.

I'm just wondering if anyone can point me in the direction of any clinical research or something.

If it's important at all, I'm only on my third pill of the pack.

Thanks!

hellooooo
i had my second appointment with my gynecologist today (which was wonderful! i'm so lucky have a great doctor, i didn't want to leave) and after a year on yasmin, have decided to switch to nuvaring, and i am very excited about it. i'm hoping it will help with emotional side-effects that i think are coming from yasmin. i have heard that nuvaring overall causes less side effects, but i have a few questions that i forgot to ask at her office.

Hello ladies ;)

I'd need some info and help from you, if you can - although this is not really the best community, but I didn't find any other that suits better. And you've been great help with all my previous questions, you know so many things! :D

I was at the plastic surgeon's practice today and I was diagnosed with inverted nipples (I knew that before, it was obvious, but officially now.)

That's no big thing, lots of women have it and there are no many complications with operations.

But he told me that this kind of operation can cut some of my peripheral milk canals (not sure is this correct term, and that I might have problems in pregnancy and with breast feeding. He said it's not often but it is a possibility.

I have 2 options: to operate it now with this possibility or after I give birth and I'm sure I don't want to have any more kids (it's funny how he thinks that breast feeding is condition to having a baby - like you can't have it without breast feeding!! And, oh, how am I supposed to breast feed like this, with practically no nipples?! But ok, he's older man, and good in operations so I'll ignore that.)

The thing is, it's bothering me. I don't like how my breasts look like and I'm ashamed of showing them naked. They look like there's something wrong with them and kind of unnatural. Not how breasts should look like. (prolly mass media doing it's work, but still, it's body I live with every day, especially 'female parts')

So what I'm asking you is, do you know someone (or some of you even) who had this operation? And possibly had a baby later? Were there any problems, complications with breasts/-feeding?

I'll google informations but I'd love real life stories.

My operation should be scheduled in autumn, so I must make decision.

Thanks for all info you give me!

Hey all, i was wondering if you awesome gals could inspire me a bit here. lately I find myself being all-around bored by everything, and for the first time in my twenty-five years, I find myself even bored with my girl-bits. I'm not sure what to make of it, really. I've always been more than happy sexually, either alone or with partners and especially my current boy, but it seems like lately, my poor old vag is needing some extra attention/love. Even masturbation has kind of lost it's oomph, and the weird thing is it's not like I'm not horny...quite the opposite, actually. My boyfriend hasn't been feeling too sexual these days so it's basically left in my hands (bad pun)...What do you do when you need to spice yourself up a bit? I was thinking maybe a visit to the no-hair fairy and just shaving what little bit of hair I leave after trimming..just for something different. Advice? sex toy recommendations? Websites? Anything! your helpful wisdom is greatly appreciated!

OK so it seems my vagina is mad about something, and she's doing something about it. But I don't know WHAT!

The other day my bf and I had sex twice within the span of a half hour, and during the second session, it hurt a bit. Not terribly, but a bit. We used lube (pretty much always do since my vag is fickle and won't allow non slippery things in), don't use condoms (I have a Mirena IUD) and it more or less went away after five or so minutes.

The next day, I realized I was a bit sore, but didn't really think much of it since it did hurt a bit when we were having sex. But the soreness didn't go away, and yesterday and today it freaking burns when I pee! I think the urine's getting into a cut or...something. I'm not sure. It also hurts a little when I'm walking. Kind of...scratchy.

I was just tested for a UTI the other day, and the burning is definitely coming from my vag and not urethra. I was also tested for bacteria/yeast not too long ago, so I don't think it could be either of those things. I've taken a look down there and everything looks fine. I don't see any cuts, it's not irritated, no unusual discharge. Just my normal looking, pink vagina.

So I can only guess that my bf entered too low and irrited the skin toward the perineum, and thus will heal in a week or so, but I'm reluctnt to pee now! It really hurts! And since it seemed to get worse a couple days AFTER the fact, I'm worried it will continue this trend.

Does anyone have any thoughts on what else this could be, or how to reduce or stop the burning? I've tried leaning forward while peeing to keep it from running that direction, and also "plugging it up" with toilet paper to protect it, but no dice.

Help my vagina!

Edit: I've also recently started bike riding, and the seat is quite uncomfortable (I'm replacing it with a gel thing, soon). Could this be causing anything?

So, I've noticed on occasion that my nipples will sometimes get itchy. Like, super itchy where I want to scratch them off my body due to the insane itchy feeling. At first I thought they might be dry so I put on lotion, but that only seemed to stimulate the itching more and make them 'perky'. There's no way that I'm pregnant because I'm on OBC and this has been occurring ever since puberty. It's only been recently that it's grown to such annoying proportions. Maybe it's hormonal? I mean, it's not unpleasant and can sometimes enhance play time. But it's not cool when I have a itch attack while sitting in the church choir and they suddenly decide to stand at attention. NOT amused by that at all.:( Any suggestions?

So, my boyfriend and I are both really into rough sex--level of roughness comes and goes, but I absolutely loves pain, and he very much gets off on giving it to me, so it works out.

Last night (and this morning) were especially rough since he'd had a scene he'd been "saving up" for a while--without getting all pornoriffic on you, there was lots and lots of very, very deep penetration with his penis, various objects, sex toys, etc.

Well, this morning after another round, my uterus and vagina just ached--they were almost cramping, but not menstrually (it's right around ovulation time for me, so it's def not my period)--and when we were boinking, my cervix and vagina in general just felt a lot more sore than usual. I usually really like it when he hits my cervix, especially if he goes extra deep in doggy style, but this morning I just didn't seem to have the same tolerance.

Is it possible that we actually bruised my cervix and vagina and all that? We do get really rough--I pulled a muscle in my side from last night with how he had me tied up for a while--but it's not usually quite so... lingering. I did some research on bruised cervices, etc., but it made it sound like if that had happened, I'd be actively bleeding.

I'm not worried so much as curious as to what the actual physical after effects of really rough sex could be. I tried googling, but I only got hits for creepy news stories where the person ended up stabbing their partner or something, and, well, that's just not what I'm into.

Thanks!

I've been on Depo for four months and my SO and I always use condoms because children are not an option for us right now.  Twice we have got caught up in the moment and didnt use condoms and he came inside me. I've done my research here and around the internet and know the statistics (and that no HBC is 100% effective). Even after knowing how Depo and other HBCs work and all of the rates etc, I'm still extreemly paranoid about pregnancy when he comes inside me without a condom.

Trust issues concerning HBCs seems to be a reoccuring theme around here (and well so!)

I was wondering, have any of you had trust issues with HBC .... and do any of you have tips for overcoming these issues?

Thanks so much in advance,  I hope this helps others as well.

okay, two questions! :]

1) (possibly way tmi) i have a huge bump on the outside of my vagina. Like the parts where you shave if you shave it all off. I first thought maybe it was just a zit, but it's been there for awhile so I got mad and tried to pop it (probably not a good idea) and nothing happened, I don't think it's a zit because its alot bigger, like the size of the eraser built in on the pencil. Theres a dark dark pink dot in the center if that does anything. Anyone have any idea of what this could be and how to make it go away?

2) I just got subscribed Yaz by my gyno. It was my first visit, and my mom insisted to come in with me, so I just let her because she was already feeling I was going on birth control because of the protection from pregnancy ( i told her it was for cramps ) so naturally I told the gyno I wasn't sexually active ( i'm only 16) She told me to start it the Sunday of my period. The problem is is that my period is in 3 weeks, and in 2 weeks my boyfriend and I are very likely to have sex. A condom would be used of course , but since it's both our first times I'd also like the birth control  just to add more protection in there. Would it just be horrible to start the birth control this Sunday? I heard your protected after seven days of consistent use, so I was wondering if that was possible to start this weekend.

sorry if none of this made since, thanks in advance :]

hello ladies..

i have been missing my period for about 3 months now.. i went to the doctor, PP and they prescribed me Desogen, for BC.. since i started taking it it feels like i have weird period pain, slight cramping in my uterus on and off during the day.. not severe, or dibilitating, but rather disconcerting. I am not sure what is causing it..

do you think it's because i didn't have a period, and now my uterus is yelling at me because of all the hormones? the doctor told me to start taking it the same day... i don;'t know..

but, here's more to save your friends list. Expandstory )
