I looked in the marked entries, but I didn't see this particular thing referenced; if I missed it somehow, just let me know and point me in the right direction.

For a while now, my nipples have been giving me some irritation. The nipples themselves - not around them, but on them - take spells at night sometimes when they itch - whether I'm wearing a bra or not under my shirt. Even scratching doesn't help very much. There's no discharge, no leaking or discoloration - just an itch. I bathe daily, and I keep myself very clean, and my bras are just plain white cotton - the kind I've worn for a long time with no problems, same brand, not too tight or anything. Has anyone else had this, and is it serious? Is there anything I can do? Thanks.

I've been putting off intercourse with my partner because timing and location are difficult for us to come by.. the only place that is really feasible for sex play is a car, and I really don't want to leave a bloody trail behind. Particularly if it's not my car!
I have a history of gymnastics, dance, horseback riding, sports etc., as well as heavy masturbation. From these factors alone it would seem that there is very little likelihood of my hymen still being intact. Still, I want to minimize the risk.

So my question is, how can a woman tell if her hymen is broken or not (or if she even has/had one?). Is it possible for me to just break it so it will be out of the way?

Edited to add: For what it's worth, I'm also a regular tampon user.

*I've been following chains of links from the userinfo page outward, and can't get my hands on any faqs, archives, or memories! So, even though I'm sure this topic has been perused I hope I won't step on any toes by reposting :)

Okay ladies!! After all of your much appreciated comments on the last post I have one last question before I go jumping up and down (and then hope for the best)...
I took a test last night!! and then This morning!!

The line is faint, but it's thereeeeeee, and it's even more there on the one from this morning, so that means I'm Pregnant!!! Yes??? False positives are not very common right? Especially on two tests? Should I try a different brand of test?

And any ladies in the North Chicago/Evanston Area... if you know of any great OB/Midwives (who are fat friendly) let me know because I started seeing a Dr. and I hate the people at her practice.

i'm convinced there's something wrong with me. .i'm just not sure what it is :'[. since the last time i've had sex [about two weeks ago] i've been getting like. .spontaneous aches in my vagina. .as well as where my inner thighs and vagina meet. .kinda burns sometimes too :[. well i went to get tested for ghonnorea [sp?] & chlamydia [i should get the results this monday or tuesday] on tuesday, and the doctor told me i had a bacterial overgrowth. i know the exam doesn't cover herpes, but i asked her about it and she said she didn't see anything that looked like it. .i was still iffy about it but :/. .anyway she perscribed this stuff called flagyl for me and i've been taking it since. .i wonder if it could be the medication but i know even after like two days i had sex my vagina just. .like ached. i thought it might have been because it was really rough. .but it just didn't feel like it was from that. not to mention about two or three days after i got like little tiny bumps on the top of my lips. .similar to that thing called fordyce spots. .but i kind of doubt it's that :/ & the weird thing is i had been giving this guy in question head for like three days straight but it's just after we had sex they started showing up. .i don't have any visible bumps on my uh nether regions. .but it's like the aches and everything and ever since i got those tiny bumps on my lips i've been researching herpes like crazy. .and from what they say i'm almost convinced i might have it :'[. .i don't know i'm just so confused and scared about everything. .i don't know i suppose i'm just looking for some comfort. .? i try to keep positive about things but this has all been so overwhelming to me. .i've been crying like every day since i got those little bumps on my lips. .also can anyone tell me the price ranges for std testing at planned parenthood?

I know I "have" a g-spot. I just can't orgasm when guys (or their penises) hit it. It gives me the sensation that I have to go to the bathroom and then I tense up and there's NO chance of me having an orgasm. Has this happened to anyone else? How can I be less tense? Thanks a ton..

im still a virgin but back a few months ago, about 4 1/2 i recieved oral sex from my then boyfriend (which only lasted about a week). I havent really talked to him ever since then and Im perfectly healthy but I havent gotten my period in about 2 months now, which is very out of the ordinary for me. I usually get all my menstrul cycles on time on the day that they are supposed to happen and have been getting them like that for the past 7 years so Im very concerned. I was wondering if any sti's that im not sure about could actually stop my period from coming? or I be infected without knowing. is it even possible to get infected by an sti if you are only recieving oral sex? and if i need to be checked out should i go to my regular doctor or my gyno. im so lost, any help would be very appreciated.

Okay, so I'm not sure if this only happens to me or what.. but I almost ALWAYS get a yeast infection after having sex. During sex, I usually start to see it happening [too much information-but I start to see the "cottage cheese chunks" coming out. totally gross]. Does this happen to anyone else? Any idea why this happens? Is there a way to stop this from happening EVERY time? I know you're not doctors, but I just want to know your personal experiences with things like this and how you handled it. Thank you soo much.

tampons

Okay, this is probably the stupidest question EVAR, but I have obsessive-compulsive disorder and I'll be second-guessing myself forever if I don't ask.

My rational side is 100% sure I still don't have a tampon in, but the obsessive-compulsive side is 'what if!?'. I wouldn't be bleeding as per the norm if there was, and probing for it would turn up something (and wouldn't be such a bloody venture), right?

Okay, I'm suitably embarrassed enough now...

My boyfriend and I had sex last night and today while examining my vulva, I noticed that the area directly below and around my urethra is a little red. It almost looks like a rash and it COULD be blood but I'm not sure. There's no itching or burning and peeing doesn't hurt. Is it possible that I just bruised something during sex? We're a monogamous couple and with the exception of HPV, we're both STD-free. I also have a copper IUD in case it matters.

In other news, my fourchette split during penetration. This has happened several times in the past and usually we have to stop because of the pain it causes. However, this time I told my boyfriend to continue and although it stung for a few minutes eventually the pain subsided and we were able to finish. Is this ok, or should we stop whenever this happens? I was just tired of having to stop every time we have sex because of the splitting but now I'm worried that not stopping might further aggravate the problem. Also, aside from keeping the area clean is there anything else I should do to speed healing? I've used Neosporin in the past but I just got rid of a yeast infection and don't want to further upset the balance in my vagina.

Hi girls!

I'm looking for some great book recommendations, preferably along the lines of women empowerment, feminism, body types, vaginas, etc.  Just really great, made-for-women books.

Thanks so much to anyone who throws any suggestions my way.  :)

i just recently met this boy and we both have rapidly become sexually active with eachother. i was virgin prior to him but i was a heavy masturbator before this (this will all fit in in minute i swear) the problem is every time he tries to have sex with me it hurts WAY too much to even consider letting him go on and we've tried different positions, the only position that hurt less (still hurt considerably, however) was with me on top and although he got his penis pretty far in me i still had to go very, VERY slow and again the act of sex wasn't really happening it was just too painful. my question here is there really anything i can do to make it less painful? he fingers me before this happens and even that kind of hurts but i can deal with that. it's really frustrating not being able to have sex with him especially because he's my first. i don't know if it's because he's kind of big (around 7 inches) and it's my first time i obviously expected some pain but i never thought it would be THIS painful to where i can't let him finish and it's the type of pain that takes your breath away. or if it's because i'm a pretty small girl with small hips, not many curves. i've heard the pain is there at first but in a few minutes it'll start to go away is this true at all? would lubrication help? i'm just so confused and frustrated as to what to do because i really want to actually have sex with him not just him inserting his penis and me having to stop him because of pain.

thanks for the help.

Well I think my BV came back, AGAIN.  I really don't want to go back to my doctor and pay all this money if I can take care of it myself.
I've heard about taking Folic acid and vitamin B(?), would this cure my BV?
Can this also be used on a regular basis to help it from coming back?
How many milligrams should I take?
Will this effect HBC?

Thank you for your time!

Hey,
I started on the Depo shot a few weeks ago and so far I'm VERY happy with it! (No side affects so far!)
I'm in a longterm relationship with my boyfriend we're pretty health consious people... a few weeks ago we both got STD testing and found out that we're STD free.  We have been using condoms (and I'm on Depo) but recently we've been exploring other options. Would using a spermicidal sponge while on Depot be effective if we dont use a condom? Has anybody tried the vcf contaceptive strips? Are things that much different without a condom? Sorry for the bunch of questions. Thanks for your time. I love this place!

For the past week or so I have been having slight itchiness and a little burning/pain sensation while having sex. I really feel like I have a yeast infection. Now, even though I think this is a yeast infection it would be the most mild yeast infection I have ever had.

In the past I have had yeast infections and I have had BV. With my previous yeast infections I was very itchy and had no abnormal discharge or anything else. When I had BV it was just like a yeast infection except the itching was ten times worse, I had no abnormal discharge then either. This time around the itching is even less than previous times.

I do not believe I have an STI. I was last checked Feb. 2007 and I have been with the same partner since Dec. 2006.

The soonest my gyno could get me in was April 7th! :( This is because I am going out of town on Friday and the earliest appointment before April was while I will be gone. I would rather not use a product such as monistat because it is so harsh and because I am not 100% sure it is a YI. I have read on the vulvapedia that you can use acidophilus capsules or powder. I have a bottle of lactobacillus tablets. I know you can take them orally, but can insert them vaginally? Can I crush them up and insert them? I'd really just like something to hold me over, or treat me until I go to the doctor.

Thanks! And sorry for the book.

I generally take my pill in the morning, anywhere from 9 - 11 or so. Friday however, I forgot completely somehow and ended up taking two pills Saturday around 12. Now I'm spotting. I'm hoping it magically stops tomorrow, but aside from stopping my pills to have a withdrawl bleed, does anyone know anything that might stop it/if it will continue throughout the entire cycle? I'm not willing to stop my pills, as it's my sole method of birth control, and I'm heading home this weekend. Should I just keep wearing a pantyliner and pray for the best? And, if it continues for the whole cycle...would my period be lighter? Or would that just depend.

I'm going to try to get all the details down here so I can get some suggestions..Since I haven't been home in days and haven't seen my box of ortho evra (also known as "the patch") I am pretty sure that I have another week until my period but I am not positive. My change date is on Friday which I stupidly missed. My period takes at least two full days to arrive and the hormones to wear off. Yesterday my boyfriend and I were having sex when we paused and noticed I was bleeding heavily. Before we had sex I was having a bad headache. We actually stopped because my headache was so bad. I have been having this same headache on and off since. I watched my body and I wasn't bleeding after....just some blood in the stuff my vagina regularly excretes. And tonight my boyfriend and I had sex again where I again started to bleed heavily. I feel this is related to the headaches. Headaches are not a symptom of my periods. I'm wondering what's going on and am tired of ruining sheets >< Any help is appreciated. (I did check the site too for any possibilities)

So I'm just curious and without a for sure answer I'll be stressing out about it forever, but  I recently got the Nuvaring, now I looked on the FAQ thing that you guys have provided for me, but it didn't answer my question.
My doctor just told me to put it in that night, I never had my period for February and I got a prego test from her and it showed up negative, so I know I'm not prego. But now that I'm on the Nuvaring will I not get a period till I take it out in April?
I just wanna make sure.

thanks.

This morning I had sex using a condom, the boy ejaculated into the condom. About an hour or so later we had sex again, this time without a condom. He didn't ejaculate inside me but didn't pee or anything between sex sessions so I'm concerned about the possibility of left over sperm. I'm due to get my period any day now and have had the sore breasts & slight cramps for a couple of days so it's definitely been over a week and a half since I ovulated.
I'm wondering whether it would be worth me taking the morning after pill tomorrow, just incase? I wouldn't normally have sex without a condom but we had run out and as we had no idea when we would next see each other again we just sort of went for it. I feel really silly :(
