My boyfriend and I had sex last night and today while examining my vulva, I noticed that the area directly below and around my urethra is a little red. It almost looks like a rash and it COULD be blood but I'm not sure. There's no itching or burning and peeing doesn't hurt. Is it possible that I just bruised something during sex? We're a monogamous couple and with the exception of HPV, we're both STD-free. I also have a copper IUD in case it matters.
In other news, my fourchette split during penetration. This has happened several times in the past and usually we have to stop because of the pain it causes. However, this time I told my boyfriend to continue and although it stung for a few minutes eventually the pain subsided and we were able to finish. Is this ok, or should we stop whenever this happens? I was just tired of having to stop every time we have sex because of the splitting but now I'm worried that not stopping might further aggravate the problem. Also, aside from keeping the area clean is there anything else I should do to speed healing? I've used Neosporin in the past but I just got rid of a yeast infection and don't want to further upset the balance in my vagina.
