cone biopsy, abnormal paps

So i posted in here a while back about my experience with a cryo.

I had my first abnormal pap in may of 07, did the whole colposcopy / biopsy. I wasnt able to get the cryo until december because i got pregnant and then had a miscarriage.

I got the results back from my repeat pap after the cryo about two weeks ago - and it didnt change anything whatso ever.
they said something about the abnormal cells not being on the superficial layer of my cervix and being deeper up :/

The doctor burned one of my vagina lips with the cryo gas - so i opted for their second option of what i should do.. the cone biopsy.
I've read a few different things about what to expect, but it doesnt calm my nerves.
Has anyone had this done..can you tell me what kind of anesthesia is most commonly used?
How the post op time is? Any information would be great :]

I cant have the procedure done until probably april, because my lovely ( sarcasm ) obgyn is out of town until near then. I dont know how fast cervical cells change, but I know waiting isnt good..or well it cant be, right?

Also - I've read that sometimes it can affect fertility. I'm young, and i would still really love to have children..I'm just nervous that that might not happen.

Vagina pooch insecurities

If this isn't kosher Mods let me know and delete it promptly. Below are two picture of my pelvic pooch. that's no wet lips or anything sexual, they're more medical shots.
I' very insecure aobut my mound or mountain of a vagina. People have commented on it when i wear a bathing suit and some cute of jean that maje the rest of my body look fab, enhance the pooch area.

I want to know is there anything i can do to reduce the size, other than surgery? Do any of you lovelies have the same type of giner? Or am i alone in this.

It's jsut starting to really bother me i've been insecure aobut it for years and i also have on lip, the left side that is almost 5 inches long. Sometimes it gets cut or rubbed raw by my underwear and the insurance says it's considered a cosmetic surgery to make it smaller :(

Sex hears my deal....

I am allergic to Latex. And polyurethane. Both make me swell up, dry out, itch and bleed. As well as the condom breaks in like 120 seconds.

Birth control gives me scary, eyeball crushing headaches. I've tried for 4 years. All kinds. Depo,  low-dose, high , the patch, etc. Its the hormones,  I have an apparent stroke risk
 
Spermicide literally burns holes into my skin. Like acid.

I cant get an IUD, because of the size and angle of my cervix, my doctor and I already tried this.

WHAT THE FUCK ARE MY BIRTH CONTROL OPTIONS??!!!

I mean, besides pulling out and praying, thats what I'm on now, but I'm sure my luck will run out soon. And I'm not sure how reliable the rhythm method is.

I'm open to all options (besides surgery), especially natura ones.

I was having sex but then we slipped and it hurt like hell and I went to take a look and the bottom of my clit is torn down the middle. I'm panicing. Im going to the dotor but won't get in for another two hours. I'm panicing that I'm going to have to get stitches or that I will heal in half or that I will never orgasm again. I really, really need some reassurance.

Birth control and weight loss

I've been on NuvaRing for a year, and since I started, I have been able to lose about 40 lbs.  However, I'm having difficulty losing weight and inches around my belly.  No matter how much I work out or how much weight I lose, I can't seem to get rid of much as much around this area in proportion to how much I've lost elsewhere.  Could this be because of the birth control?

Dry Skin caused by BC?

So I started taking Yaz in Dec, and soon after the skin on my face started to get dry and patchy. I switched to Cyclessa about 2 weeks ago hoping maybe the change of pill will make my skin get better. But alas, still dry. My only reasoning behind this is that I already have dry skin, and never had any problems with acne, but it seems all BC "helps acne", which whatever it is that helps that, must be drying out my face.

Has anyone else had this problem or know of any BC that doesn't cause problems like this? Or if not, know of any kick ass lotion?

Weird discharge. Should I be worried?

Hey VPers. For the last week or so during every BM there's a weird thick kinda frothy white discharge that comes from my vag. It kind of freaks me out because it just started happening all of a sudden and I'm not like, straining extra hard or anything. I don't smell anything (though truthfully, it'd be hard to tell being as it always happens during a BM which isn't exactly pleasant smelling anyway, lol.) and it floats. I've been on hbc for years now and I haven't switched bc's or any other medications in months. Should I be worried?

It's not what you think. Honestly. I have a question. Last night my boyfriend and I had sex and as usual I go in the bathroom and pee. Everything's fine. =] This morning I went to take my morning pee and it burned. I make sure I go to the bathroom after everytime we have sex. I don't know what it may be, i'm just worried. I've already had enough UTI's and frankly i'm quite sick of them. I would really apperciate some advice on this subject.

Torn clit again :(

I posted earlier today about how my clit got ripped during sex :( I went to the doctor and she said that it's only a small cut and that i won't need stitches unless the bleeding won't stop on it's own. At the time I was just relieved but now I'm thinking about what I saw when I investigated it and it honestly looked worse than a little cut (it literally looked like a split from the middle down). Is it possible that it just looked deeper than it was for me? Ít's still bleeding a tiny bit and I have no idea if I have to go to the gyno at the hospital for a stitch :( Does anyone know how deep it can be before it needs stitches (especially seeing as it kind of hides away under the clitoral hood most of the time so is kind of squished together anyway...I really have to tell my mum tonight if I have to go the hospital tomorrow :(

HBC and Kombucha

I really like Kombucha. It really helps regulate me and has started to replace my daily coffee- which says a lot. a whole lot. I love coffee.

I was just reading up on Kombucha and i caught a glimpse of a disclaimer that people on hormone therapy should talk to their dr. before drinking it regularly. Do you think this applies to HBC? I can't see how it can be BAD.. but it is said to cleanse the liver so i guess thats where it gets hairy.

My vitamin C has also been pointed to as a possible reactor with HBC, but I try not to think about it bc I love my HBC and my vitamin C equally. I have no intentions of stopping my consumption of either.


Any opinions or advice would be greatly appreciated.

UTI Home Tests and a random question

1. How accurate are the at home tests for UTIs? Seeing my doctor repeatedly is expensive, and I hate the clinic at my university...if I even remotely complain of a vaguely UTI-ish symptom, nevermind the fact that my results come back fine, they sling antibiotics at me to cover their arses. Is there any brand of home test I should look for in particular?

2. I know low back pain can be a symptom of a kidney infection. But exactly WHERE on the back, and what kind of pain is it supposed to be? I got over a UTI recently, and am having no other symptoms, but I'm having this chronic recurring low back pain (just a dull ache, nothing stabbing or particularly bad), and I'm getting worried it could be another kidney infection/PID...argh. Hate my body sometimes.

skipping placebo week/spotting

ok so i have checked the memoreis but not really found the answer so i wanted to know your guys' experiences with this. somehow i missed an entire pill even though ive been trying so hard, so i am now spotting. in my past experience, when i start a new pack it kind of restarts and the spotting goes away. i was planning on skipping my placebo week tho because im finally seeing the boyfriend, but do you think the spotting will still "restart" and go away if i skip my placebo week? has anyone ever done this? maybe i should just suck it up and be bleeding when i see him so it will restart and i wont be spotting for a whole extra month?? *Sigh*

reoccuring bleeding

alright i kind of have to give a little bit of background before i ask my question (sorry its kind of long):

i lost my virginity in october.
it didnt last more than a few minuutes because we were both so nervous and we both kind of got a little spooked when i bled so much from my hymen breaking.

i hadnt done anything since a few weeks ago and its been kind of a disaster.
a few weeks ago my new SO and I were fooling around and i thought he just scratched the inside of me really badly with his fingernails.
i bled for almost 2 days =X  (not a lot, but still pink when i went to the bathroom)

we didnt do anything else until tonight when we were having sex (it was the first time ive had sex with him).
hes a little bit bigger than the guy i lost my virginity to and he went a lot deeper.

we also tried anal (i never had before) but he couldnt get in that far because i thought it hurt too much.

so after he left i went to the bathroom and noticed again i was bleeding!
but again, not a lot.


what in the world is going on!?
i keep thinking its my hymen?
i dunno if maybe my first didnt break it completely?

im not scheduled to go to my gyno until late march or early april when ill have my first real exam but im not sure if i should make an appt for earlier.

Won't stop bleeding on Alesse

Here's my problem: I was put on Alesse in December so that I could skip my period, rather than for contraception (I've never been sexually active). The first two months went fine, with a slight amount of spotting. However, due to an insurance snafu I ended up starting my third pack of pills about a week late. When I did finally start the third pack, I spotted for the first couple of days as per usual and on the third day, I started bleeding more heavily akin to a light period. I'm on day 15 right now and I'm still bleeding. It's not nearly as heavy as my period was when off the pill, but it's really a nuisance. For reference, I usually only had 5-day-long periods with a generally heavy flow. I was on Alesse for about a year during high school (I'm 21 now) for the same reason and I bled when I was supposed to :p

It's reading week (Canadian university Spring Break) so I'm not able to see my normal gyno on campus until Monday. I've heard that the best thing to do in this situation is to toss my current pack of pills and start a new pack a week later. Seeing as I'm not worried about contraception, would this be advisable?

Cryotherapy jitters.

So I'm going for my first cryotherapy/cryosurgery/wart removal procedure on Friday morning, and I'm really nervous. Why? I'll eleborate.

1. It's probably the most humiliating, embarrassing, stressful thing I will ever do regarding my vagina. (Yes, it's removal of genital warts. Hence the humiliation and embarrassment.) I'm going to have to sit and maybe even point some of the warts out... I am so embarrassed. This whole situation makes me feel so dirty and, for the first time ever, embarrassed about my vagina.

2. I have my period, kind of. I'm on Seasonale and of course, the one time I get some blood is right before my appointment. I'm not rescheduling because it takes forever to get an appointment, and I've put it off for too long. Do you think a little bit of blood will be bad? It's nothing gross or inhibiting. My flow is very light, if it's there at all, because of Seasonale.

3. I'm afraid it will hurt. I have kind of a lot, like, 10 or something, and I just want them GONE. I'm fully aware that the HPV will still be there, I know all about it. I just fear that the actual procedure will hurt.

I'm all nervous and mostly fearing the whole embarrassment factor. And I'm not one to be embarrassed by my vagina. In fact, I love it. I think that's one of the reasons this whole genital warts thing really affected me. It honestly does make me feel dirty, for lack of a better word. Which is something I HATE.

So, does anyone have any insight or personal experiences to share? I would really appreciate it.

P.S. There is also definitely something weird going on with my vagina, and I have no idea if it's a yeast infection or what. People say that yeast infections smell "yeasty." Well what the hell does yeast smell like?! All I know is that something is off and the smell is definitely not right. It makes me uncomfortable.
