If this isn't kosher Mods let me know and delete it promptly. Below are two picture of my pelvic pooch. that's no wet lips or anything sexual, they're more medical shots.
I' very insecure aobut my mound or mountain of a vagina. People have commented on it when i wear a bathing suit and some cute of jean that maje the rest of my body look fab, enhance the pooch area.
I want to know is there anything i can do to reduce the size, other than surgery? Do any of you lovelies have the same type of giner? Or am i alone in this.
Under the cut are the two pics.. def NSFW warning i'm 221 pounds
Side view. See how much it sticks out?!
Clicking pic will make it larger.
It's jsut starting to really bother me i've been insecure aobut it for years and i also have on lip, the left side that is almost 5 inches long. Sometimes it gets cut or rubbed raw by my underwear and the insurance says it's considered a cosmetic surgery to make it smaller :(

Date: 2008-02-20 12:04 pm (UTC)I'm sorry that other people have found the need to make comments about it- I honestly don't see an issue with it, except of course that it bothers you. Did you say it's noticeable when you wear certain clothing? I could understand that making you self-conscious I suppose since it draws attention to it, but naked I see no issues with it.

Date: 2008-02-20 08:48 am (UTC)when i had lost weight, a few years ago, i lost weight are there too. so if you don't wish to go the route of surgery, perhaps finding some way to lose a bit of weight might help. sorry i can't give you better suggestions. hope you find something that works though. :)

Date: 2008-02-20 09:00 am (UTC)I saw an episode of Dr. 90210 where a girl had the procedure that you want, its called mons pubis reduction.
I just wear lots of skirts or long shirts over my jeans. I'm pretty insecure about it too, but I've come to the conclusion that very few people are looking at my crotch. haha

Date: 2008-02-20 09:35 am (UTC)I was 265lbs at my heaviest, I'm down to 193lbs, and the shape on my mons has changed a lot. I used to be self concious because it was so flabby. It's still bigger than I'd like, but it's become markedly smaller since I lost weight.

Date: 2008-02-20 02:15 pm (UTC)To hide the 'pooch' area when you wear a cute jean, invest in some Spanx undergarments (www.spanx.com). They have support pantyhose, bras, panties and body smoothers and shapers. All they do is smooth out everything so that your clothes fit better. I'm not sure how you'd hide it under a swimsuit. Perhaps a pair of shorts over the bottom of the swimsuit would work.
Try not to let it bother you, the comments, plenty of women are shaped similarly to you and have pooches. It's normal.
And you might be able to find a doctor who would recommend you have the surgery and work with your insurance company about getting it approved. Ultimately, you're going to have to lose a fairly significant amount of weight before that goes away. You said you've already lost 30 and have seen little change in the size of it. I really don't think weight loss will have a huge effect on it. And really, there should be a doctor out there who is willing to treat your problem instead of telling you that if you just lose weight it will go away. Too many doctors are willing to dismiss real health problems/issues as a matter of 'if you just lost some weight'. Maybe google 'fat friendly' doctors in your area and see if they can help you.

Date: 2008-02-20 06:47 pm (UTC)My apologies. I assumed you were talking about the little pooch that most women have.

Date: 2008-02-20 04:46 pm (UTC)I agree that it looks like it would reduce if you lost weight, but that it might have to be a significant amount of weight. In the meantime, I'd experiment with different types of clothes or undergarments. I know you said the clothes that accentuate it look good on you in other ways...but maybe there is a compromise of some sort? Or a pant style you haven't discovered yet!
As for people making comments when you are in a bathing suit: It is them with the problem. Not you. I know that probably doesn't help all that much, but seriously OMG, What is WRONG with people? That is so so so inappropriate and rude and fucked up. I hope when people say things like that your first reaction is "wow, that person is a fucking asshole" rather than "wow, I look bad in my swim suit" or whatever.

Date: 2008-02-20 06:50 pm (UTC)Most definitely. And if they weren't, the maintainer team would have something to say about it. ;) I know for a fact there are many, many, many members here with bodies similar to the OPs.
Seriously though -- I agree with the above comment. OP, congratulations on your weight loss and good luck with it in the future! I know that "sticks and stones" isn't really true (words do hurt), but it is totally inappropriate for anyone to make comments about your body like that.
Although if I may go out on a limb -- generally, anyone who feels the need to publicly criticize another's body does so because they aren't very secure or happy with their own, and they get some gratification out of tearing others down. If it ever happens again, remind yourself that this is more than likely where those comments are coming from.

Date: 2008-02-20 09:37 pm (UTC)I know it's easier for us to say than for you to change the way you think, but really, I think you're a beautiful woman. There is nothing wrong with the way you look.
I do have to admit I had to do a double take with your side shot view, though-- with your left arm bent at the elbow, I saw three breasts for half a second. That gave me a chuckle, so I thought I'd share.

Date: 2008-02-21 05:17 am (UTC)This is just a bit of a technical note: Right now, when I look at your post, I don't see your pics. I see two squares of "This image or video violated our terms of service" from Photobucket.
