If this isn't kosher Mods let me know and delete it promptly. Below are two picture of my pelvic pooch. that's no wet lips or anything sexual, they're more medical shots.
I' very insecure aobut my mound or mountain of a vagina. People have commented on it when i wear a bathing suit and some cute of jean that maje the rest of my body look fab, enhance the pooch area.

I want to know is there anything i can do to reduce the size, other than surgery? Do any of you lovelies have the same type of giner? Or am i alone in this.

Under the cut are the two pics.. def NSFW warning i'm 221 pounds

Side view. See how much it sticks out?!

Clicking pic will make it larger.
It's jsut starting to really bother me i've been insecure aobut it for years and i also have on lip, the left side that is almost 5 inches long. Sometimes it gets cut or rubbed raw by my underwear and the insurance says it's considered a cosmetic surgery to make it smaller :(

i don't think there is anything besides surgery you can do to reduce it. you could try find a doctor that is willing to help you convince insurance that it's more of a "problem" rather than cosmestic procedure.

It might change if you lose weight. I'm currently trying to (just a few pounds under you) and as i lose the same area seems to get smaller on me. I'm not trying to say you need to lose or anything, but that might be easier/cheaper/less painful than having surgery for it!

Congratulations!

I'm sorry that other people have found the need to make comments about it- I honestly don't see an issue with it, except of course that it bothers you. Did you say it's noticeable when you wear certain clothing? I could understand that making you self-conscious I suppose since it draws attention to it, but naked I see no issues with it.

Congrats on your weight loss! I know how tough it is to hang on there. I agree with the other posters. As you keep losing, it will gradually disappear. I'm sorry it makes you feel uncomfortable and that others have commented on it. If it's any consolation, I don't know one woman who is 100% satisfied with her body. We all have some imperfection we'd like to wish away (for me it's saggy boobs!) It's a sad commentary on our society. I know it's hard, but try not to buy into it. Good luck!

My pooch is still there after 135 pounds lost. It just isn't fat anymore, it's all skin. Great job on your weight loss!

My mother ultimately had hers Lipo'd (she a combination adominalplasty and hernia repair as well...that excess skin was causing all sorts of yeast and skin infections)

I think sparkle lite is right, losing weight will probably help. I'm getting the same problem - I've been gaining weight and I've noticed the difference (I'm near 200 pounds right now...).

If for some reason that doesn't work for you, I suppose there is cosmetic surgery, but as you said, that would likely not be covered by insurance. :(

i see what you mean and know what you are going through. i've gained weight and gained it there too. so you are not alone. :)

when i had lost weight, a few years ago, i lost weight are there too. so if you don't wish to go the route of surgery, perhaps finding some way to lose a bit of weight might help. sorry i can't give you better suggestions. hope you find something that works though. :)

Yea I'm there with you.

I saw an episode of Dr. 90210 where a girl had the procedure that you want, its called mons pubis reduction.

I just wear lots of skirts or long shirts over my jeans. I'm pretty insecure about it too, but I've come to the conclusion that very few people are looking at my crotch. haha

I was 265lbs at my heaviest, I'm down to 193lbs, and the shape on my mons has changed a lot. I used to be self concious because it was so flabby. It's still bigger than I'd like, but it's become markedly smaller since I lost weight.

Im 116lbs and have the same issue. Mines sticky outy and I can feel the bone under it. It used to be the only thing I could think about and spent hours and hours a day worrying about it, but now I think its cute and if people notice it they shouldnt be looking at your crotch anyway.
Best of luck with whatever you decide

yeah, that's kinda where i'm at with it. also, maybe try wearing different jeans/panties? maybe a different style would accentuate it less.

I have a similar issue. A "plump" vagina as my BF calls it and a long labia. As far as I know there isn't anything one can do.

There's this workout I do at the gym that I call my " 'gina workout" to say the least, hah. I don't have a plump vagina as yourself, but man does this workout do wonders for the little bits of fat that I have hanging around there. I think it's called hip abduction or adduction? (it says that on the machine so I'm not sure which one works out which part) but either workout works out the little parts of fat around your waist and the "core" parts of your vagina, which is pretty neat because I feel it working when I do it. If you're near a local gym/if you go to work out at a gym it's one of the nautilus machines where you either push your knees together or push them apart by stretching. I'm sorry if this is unclear, I just woke up and have class in a few minutes so I'm in a bit of a rush. I just wanted to let you know that it's most likely able to work for you, and I wholeheartedly hope it does! <3

It's impossible to spot-reduce fat on your body. You can tone specific muscles (and the mons is not a muscle), but fat is never burned from one place. Those machines strengthen your inner and outer thighs but they will not have any direct bearing on your mons.

Mine looks similar to that. I'm 248 lbs and I think mine might be a bit worse because my abdominal wall and skin are pretty stretched out from 4 pregnancies. I don't have issues with it being rubbed raw by underwear though. Do you wear cotton panties mostly?

To hide the 'pooch' area when you wear a cute jean, invest in some Spanx undergarments (www.spanx.com). They have support pantyhose, bras, panties and body smoothers and shapers. All they do is smooth out everything so that your clothes fit better. I'm not sure how you'd hide it under a swimsuit. Perhaps a pair of shorts over the bottom of the swimsuit would work.

Try not to let it bother you, the comments, plenty of women are shaped similarly to you and have pooches. It's normal.

And you might be able to find a doctor who would recommend you have the surgery and work with your insurance company about getting it approved. Ultimately, you're going to have to lose a fairly significant amount of weight before that goes away. You said you've already lost 30 and have seen little change in the size of it. I really don't think weight loss will have a huge effect on it. And really, there should be a doctor out there who is willing to treat your problem instead of telling you that if you just lose weight it will go away. Too many doctors are willing to dismiss real health problems/issues as a matter of 'if you just lost some weight'. Maybe google 'fat friendly' doctors in your area and see if they can help you.

From: [identity profile] kardoth.livejournal.com
Oh, well...yeah, the labia being so long is definitely not something that you can correct without surgery. Look around at different Gyno's offices and see if you can find one who will help convince your insurance company that yours is not cosmetic.

My apologies. I assumed you were talking about the little pooch that most women have.

And btw, I thought I'd mention that you've got great thighs and a fantastic set of boobs.=D

Not trying to be a perv, just thought it would be nice to point out some things you've got going for you instead of focusing on any flaws.

You could get a labiaplasty done. I am generally against them for looks, BUT in your case it causes ouchiness and that would help it a lot. Most insurance will cover it if it is medically necessary.

Mine's about the same shape, even when I was at my low weight (around 140 ... I'm pregnant now and thus heavier) and I've always been self-concious. I think a lot of women have this and just don't talk about it.

I just wanted to say, you don't have to give us advanced warning that you're a bigger girl...I think that most of the community is open to a wide range of normal, and we certainly don't expect every picture to be of a porntastic 100 lb model.

I agree that it looks like it would reduce if you lost weight, but that it might have to be a significant amount of weight. In the meantime, I'd experiment with different types of clothes or undergarments. I know you said the clothes that accentuate it look good on you in other ways...but maybe there is a compromise of some sort? Or a pant style you haven't discovered yet!

As for people making comments when you are in a bathing suit: It is them with the problem. Not you. I know that probably doesn't help all that much, but seriously OMG, What is WRONG with people? That is so so so inappropriate and rude and fucked up. I hope when people say things like that your first reaction is "wow, that person is a fucking asshole" rather than "wow, I look bad in my swim suit" or whatever.

Most definitely. And if they weren't, the maintainer team would have something to say about it. ;) I know for a fact there are many, many, many members here with bodies similar to the OPs.

Seriously though -- I agree with the above comment. OP, congratulations on your weight loss and good luck with it in the future! I know that "sticks and stones" isn't really true (words do hurt), but it is totally inappropriate for anyone to make comments about your body like that.

Although if I may go out on a limb -- generally, anyone who feels the need to publicly criticize another's body does so because they aren't very secure or happy with their own, and they get some gratification out of tearing others down. If it ever happens again, remind yourself that this is more than likely where those comments are coming from.

I have the same "problem", and I've never seen Anything wrong with it. It's just part of your body build, and really, if anyone is commenting in a mean and nasty way, fuck em, they're not nice people. You shouldn't be made to feel self concious of your body.

I would definitely just give it time and some more weight loss....that might just be one of the last things to go. I know that I don't lose weight evenly from my body by any means....my face always gets slimmer first before any changes happen anywhere else....arms are the last to go....I'm sure it just differs from body to body.....Wait until you've lost as much weight as you want to lose...and then if it's still a problem- THEN look into surgery.

Well, I'm ~150lbs (which I think is damn average), and I still have quite a fatty vadge too. :( It's always been the same, through my weight gain AND loss. I have no idea what to do about it. But it's just a minor insecurity. I also have the long labia, the inner labia--they get rubbed raw all the time and it's extremely uncomfortable. I wish it wasn't just considered "cosmetic" surgery, because that shit hurts!!! :(

I looked at the pictures and honestly.. I don't see the problem. Your mons looks just fine! Generally, losing more weight will help shrink that area (especially since it's a fatty hunk with some skin over it to protect the pubic bone). But I truly fail to see what people could give you shit over. They're just jerks.

I've got the same thing going on and I won't lie - it bothers me too. That said, I think you're gorgeous and I would never in a million years actually think about it if I was getting intimate with a woman. Every one is different and every one is beautiful, and I truly do believe that.

I'm 110 pounds and I have the same problem. I'm insecure about it too but you just have to learn to love it, because I'm pretty positive that surgery would be the only way to correct this besides losing weight and hoping your body goes for all the fat on your vag :]

To whomever comments to you about it, they're just creeps. Ignore them. It's a freaking VAGINA, they come in all shapes and sizes!

Ps I LOVE the tat on your thight, it's cute.

I don't see anything wrong with your mons. I think it's lovely. I'm sorry to hear about the chafing from your underwear. Aside from weight loss as other people mentioned, there's not a lot you can do about it. The mons is fatty for a reason-- it's a warming and protection barrier for your sex organs. When you gain weight, fat is purposely gathered there by your body.

I know it's easier for us to say than for you to change the way you think, but really, I think you're a beautiful woman. There is nothing wrong with the way you look.

I do have to admit I had to do a double take with your side shot view, though-- with your left arm bent at the elbow, I saw three breasts for half a second. That gave me a chuckle, so I thought I'd share.

Unfortunately Photobucket killed your pics. However, lots of women are poochy and self-conscious about it, when it's actually a perfectly normal anatomical variant.
