Ok, so ive looked all over the place, here and outside sources, but i know you guys probably have some personal tips that could help me out.

When it comes to shaving, how do you avoid/treat/get rid of ingrown hairs, or shave bumps?

Ive tried a lot of things, and not really any of them are working. Im hoping at least one of you will have a tip i havent tried. Im just starting to get comfortable with being naked around my boyfriend (and myself for that matter, i tend to hate nudity) except for these unsightly bumps.

And also, do any of you, who shave totally, have a problem with a partner who doesnt shave, leaving...pubic hair burn, for lack of better phrase? And is there anything that can be done about that, short of asking partner to shave?

Thanks so much for any help.

Confusion

It's late, I'm tired, I'm upset. I just desperately need some advice.

I don't feel like going into details. Basically, my love and I are in a LDR because I'm at college. We've been talking online a lot, and our love for each other has only grown stronger. We've been sending each other sexy pictures and trying to make the best of the situation. Until it was late at night, I was stoned, he was drunk, and we were being completely open and honest about sex...

Here is our conversation )

Im 30 and was on HBC for abut 10 years before going off the pill in March and getting a copper IUD.  Oneof my main reasaons for going off the pill was a complete lack of sex drive.  The lack of sex drive has been a problem he whole time I was on the pill.  I was hoping the IUD would help that.  Since the IUD my periods have been very regular so I think my cycle is normal.  However, the complete lack of libido hasnt changed.  Does anyone have any advice for brining it back.  DId I mess up my hormones permanently after being on the pill for so long?  Im really desperate to be normal again.

I just found this article on smittenkittenonline.com called the Coalition Against Toxic Toys (aka CATT) and just wanted to share it with everyone. I'm not sure if this has been posted before, but if it has feel free to delete this.

The link won't work, so just copy and paste:

This started when I was oversees earlier in the summer, but has continued on and off.

When I go to pee, it will stop and start and no amount of pushing will get the rest out. It starts again a few seconds later, but I know that this isn't normal. It usually happens when I'm on my period but I just finished my last one two days ago.

Any advice? :)

Last night I was mugged and lost my purse which had my HBC pack in it. I'm on Ortho Tri-Cyclen-Lo, but for the life of me can't remember where in the pack I was. I have a back-up pack. I was either at the start of my 2nd week or the start of my 3rd, however, since it's a triphastic pill, I'm not sure what to do with this back-up pack. I'm sexually active and use HBC as my sole form of BC, so I still want to be covered, but I also don't want to screw my cycle up (if at all possible). Should I start with the 2nd pill of the 2nd week or the 2nd pill of the 3rd? Should I start over from the beginning? Should I do something else entirely? Please help me.

Right, please don't flame me if this has been asked before and feel free to point me in the direction of previous posts on this subject (LJ Seek claims there are non but I don't believe it!);

I was in having a female sterilisation on Monday, I just wondered if anyone has any experience with this and could tell me when it is supposed to stop hurting when I pee/laugh/sneeze/cough.
Actually, anything you can tell me about recovery would be helpful! :S
All the literature I got implies (though does not state) I should be fighting fit by now and I just want to crawl back into my bed and hide! :(

This is my 1st cycle after stopping Kariva (generic mircette). I am on cycle day 8. I bled heavy/medium for the first 5 days, then light for day 6. Day 7 and now today I've had some spotting I think, but it really just looks like brownish, sometimes yellow-ish discharge. Not alot, but something I haven't had before. When I was on the pill I would bleed heavy-medium-light for 7 days (very light on the 7th day), and then be done. Do you think this discharge is normal for stopping the pill? I've also had these weird, random lower side of my stomach pains--i guess cramps, but very sharp and lasting a few minutes. I've never had cramps before. oh, i was on the pill for 8 years, and the last 1.5 years I took it continuously (only got my period every 3 months).

I also was just treated for a "slight" yeast infection (as my gyno called it), and used a perscription 7 day cream, finishing it a few days before my period. Could I still have a YI?

Thanks so much for the support!

Update!

Here's the latest update on the 3-week period/possible ectopic pregnancy:

The nurse I've been corresponding with at my doctor's office left me a message a few minutes ago that said there was a mishap at the lab, they didn't run the test right, and when they ran "stat" (whatever that means... statistics?) to get the numbers they needed for the hospital to schedule the ultra-sound, they found out the test was negative, which means I might have been pregnant, but I am not now. However, they still want me to go get an ultra sound at 7:45 tomorrow morning, to make sure that all the mess-ups on their end, were indeed mess-ups, and to make sure there really isn't an ectopic pregnancy present.

I want to give a big thank you to all of you who have been sending me love, good luck and get well wishes. This community is fantastic, and I appreciate all your support more than you will ever know! xoxo

so i had sex with the new boyfriend for the first time this weekend. since then i have noticed the appearance of what appear to be many small zits (at last count there are 8 or 10) along my inner thighs and pelvic bone area. before this i had only ever been with one other boy and have never had this problem before.

anyone have any ideas as to what may be causing this? or what i could do to prevent it from happening in the future? i do have sensitive skin so it could be a reaction to a soap or something that he uses, i haven't had the chance to ask him about it yet since the only time he has access to internet is when he's working in the bar he owns, and i'd really rather not have someone walk past and glance at that conversation. but i'm seeing him friday and plan to ask him then.

mostly i was just wondering if anyone else had experienced this problem and had pinpointed the cause (be it friction or heat or lotions or creams causing the reaction).

thanks a lot ladies!

Background:

I'm a 21 year old female in a monogamous relationship. I'm currently on my 3rd NuvaRing and had my period (and used my DC) this past weekend. I've experienced some itching and my labias seems to be swollen - I had problems inserting the new NuvaRing last night and now it seems to be pushed a bit out, but I don't know why.

The thing is, I don't have any discharge and I can't smell anything out of the ordinary. I'm just experiencing a bit of itching and general discomfort around my vagina (vaginal opening and between the vagina and clitoris).

Help?

When is the earliest you can take a test?
My period doesn't come for another three weeks, but I'm starting to show symptoms (though I have been under a lot of stress)... is it too early to take a test though?
We also had sex DURING my period. I know, I KNOW.

Sex Toys

I am thinking of purchasing a sex toy online. I lost one of mine and I need my little bullet back. The website that I usually use (adamandeve.com) sends me these stupid little catalogues all the time and I'm really sick of dealing with them. And now that I live at home it would be really awkward for my mom or dad to come across one of those. Can anyone recommend a website online that doesn't send catalogues at all? I just want to order my sex toy and not deal with anything else. Thanks in advance.

i am sure this has been asked at one point in time, but i've gone back quite a few entries and didn't see anything, so i figured i'd ask.

i'm curious to know if any of you here have had or are currently experiencing difficulty with orgasm. i'm 20, married, and have never once had a conscious orgasm. i say conscious because i happen to have them all the time in my sleep. it's the only time i have experienced them, and unfortunately, i have no control over when they happen. i have tried everything i can think of to have one normally, been in every mindset possible, tried every position and toy available, and still had no luck. i still enjoy sex very much, but never seem to experience the final reward so many other women do. what makes it so frustrating is that i KNOW i can have them, but am never able to. any ideas?

so here's the deal... when i orgasm when i masturbate, i don't "cum". my vagina just contracts... all the literotica stories i've read, the women cum but nothing comes out of me! surely i am not the only one!

ohhh, i'm all about the questions this week, aren't i?! haha... okay, so before my whole 'leaving my tampon in too long' thing happened, i had been having an itchy bumm, and you know how it goes.. itches come, itches go, especially when you shave down there. but it's been there for awhile now, and the last few days it's gotten worse. it's really red, and veryyy itchy.. it's almost like when babies get a rash on their bumms, you know? it's just like that, but i'm not sure why???

From the beginning. I was under the impression that my insurance coverage would begin Saturday the 1st. I didn't receive a card in the mail and I forgot to go and just buy my birth control pills out of pocket. I should have started this pack on Sunday, Sept. 2nd (the previous week was my off-week). Just today I finally went and bought my Ortho-Tricyclene at full price today (ugh). So, to recap: I ought to have started on the 2nd, and today's the 5th. I could just double up twice or more to "catch up", or I could just rock it old school this month and pick up again on the BC's next month.

Wrench in the works:
I forgot about the whole not-being-on-birth-control thing and had sex on the 3rd. We realized this in time for him to pull out, and although I've read things that say that if he's urinated since the last time he ejaculated then there isn't any sperm in the precum, I've heard other sources saying that there's sperm in precum no matter what. I've done Plan B thing before, probably 7 or 8 months ago, and I hate to mess with my hormones more than necessary. I bought one today anyway and I think I'll go ahead and take it because I'd rather be safe than preggers. But here's the question:

Since I'm already dosing up on hormones, should I just leave the BC's alone until next month and use condoms, or do you think it's okay to try and catch up on them?

Hey All -

I was sitting on the edge of the couch yesterday, checking my e-mail for about 15 minutes before I headed off to class. I didn't notice at the time, but when I stood up, the right side of my vagina was NUMB. Now, that is no new thing -- i have been on long ass car rides or extended voyages on a bike. I was amused and began to walk toward the door and the normal feeling shifted to another normal feeling...my vagina got pins and needles.

If it were my foot, arm, shoulder, toe, finger, hand, etc....I would not have reacted the way I did. But, it was my vagina. My vagina was ASLEEP.

I dun know if anyone else has had that happen...but, man, it sure is a debilitating feeling.
Thought I'd share and give warning to those who innocently sit on the edge of a recliner.

Hey all.  First off, I want to say how much I appreciate the support and sense of community present through [community profile] vaginapagina

And now, on to the point!  This might be a little convoluted, so please let me know if anything needs clarification.

To sum up:
February - UTI pops up, but doc thinks I contaminated my sample ( 4 strains of e. coli) and sends me off with low level antibiotics
June - new symptoms pop up: strange smell and back pain, frequency urinating, etc.
July - dip test clear, culture shows 5 strains of e. coli
Early August - heavy antibiotics provide temporary relief
Mid August - symptoms come back: back pain, frequency.  Clinic doc suggests I see a urologist, PCP gives me different antibiotics with no relief
Early Sept - PCP's culture comes back neg for bacteria, but with red blood cells.  Haven't gotten the clinic's results yet.

So.. WTF?  Anyone have any insight on whats going on?  Are there things I should ask about when I email my PCP about this?  Sympathy is also appreciated as this last course of antibiotics have also given me another yeast infection, and I feel like a cranky Itchysaurus Rex.

I have some pain during sex, mostly due to the fact that my boyfriend has a really big penis and we have lots of sex very often (at least once a day).  I'm positive it's just an irritation from sex, and I have no medical conditions that would make me have this sort of pain (other than a semen allergy, which I just try to avoid).  This is probably a futile question almost not even worth asking, but is there anything at all I can do to decrease this (other than using lots of lube)?  The only reasonable answer I've come up with is "have sex less often to give your vag some time to heal" but that's not the appealing option, so I'm wondering if there are any other ways to deal with this?  Or at the very least, is this a problem people have often?
