I'm going to try to describe this to you guys. I noticed this BEFORE i went to the doctor. I took a mirror and checked out my vagina..and i noticed that where the vaginal opening is, there is flesh..and it's a bit raw/lumpy.

When i went to the doctor, she said NOTHING about it! Then again, she really didn't tell me much more than to just take the medicines..=/ So i didn't get any information out of her..and it was my first pap smear too, so i didn't exactly know what to expect.

So, could the raw/lumpyness be due to my yeast infection? I brushed my finger against it this morning when i showered (as i have been doing lately) and it doesn't seem like it has changed much.

Could someone answer this for me? I've not found any information on anything like this. :(

Well, I posted a long while back about a possible cyst between my urethra and vagina. Turns out that it was actually swelling due to my newly-diagnosed Vulvar Vestibulitis. FANTASTIC. I have so many questions...

1) What's the prognosis generally like? Is this something that can/will go into remission, or is this for life?

2) Are there any related LJ or online communities that I can check out?

3) What are some practical, everyday ways to deal with the pain?

I know there are more questions, but that will give me a good start.

Fortunately, I caught this at an early stage so my doctor assures me it should be easy to keep on top of, but I'm still really feeling sorry for myself right now (I cope with a few severe autoimmune issues already, so this diagnosis almost feels like insult to injury). Any advice will definitely help calm me down a bit and knock me out of my self-pity.

Thanks, ladies and gents!

I know this has to have been asked before..

Is it true that hot water is bad when you're on your period? I've heard that cold things (food, drink, cold showers) make your cramps worse. But I was planning on visiting the bf today and was wondering if I could go in the hot tub..its day 1 of my period *sigh*

ideas?

Helllooo. Hope you're all having a great weekend and Memorial day tomorrow!

Ok, I am sure I am freaking out way more than necessary (which it seems we ladies sometimes do far too often), but I just wanted to check in with the expertise of you all, since I don't necessarily know the answer.

I'm on Apri, HBC (generic for Desogen). I normally take it at 11:30pm every night in NY, but I'm home in AZ now, so I need to take it at 8:30 pm because of the time difference. B/C I'm so used to taking it at 11:30pm I've been messing up since I've been home. Generally taking it around 11:30, which is actually 2:30am in NY. The first week of the pack was in NY, second week just completed in AZ. The past few nights I've remembered and been taking it at 9:30pm (12:30am NY time).

Last night I had sex. He did not ejaculate at all. We stopped because I was uncomfortable going forward, knowing I was taking the pill all wonky like the past week!

Today is the first day of my third week of the pill pack. I plan on being diligent and taking it on time for the remaining time.

Any thing to be worried about? I know it's important to take the pill around the same time each day, so with my screw-ups it's been about 3 hours late (maybe 4 once or twice). But for the few previous days before the sex it's been on time. The only real risk I can see is pre-cum, since he did not ejaculate.

Is EC/Plan B something I should look into? I don't want to freak out unnecessarily, and take it if I don't have to. But I don't want to get pregnant either.

I know these posts with BC questions about timing and crap can be really annoying, but any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

where I talk for a long time )

So in summary, because I got pretty wordy: I have a lot of minor vulva problems that affect my quality of life, which I think (but don't know for sure) could be repaired surgically. When I pose this to my doctor, I want to be taken seriously. And I'd love to hear anyone's experiences about what to expect, what kind of procedure they had, how well it healed and whether it solved their problem in the end. Surgery is a scary prospect and I'd appreciate hearing anything that you can offer. Thank you all!

something happened that has me a little worried. a week ago i had all the symptoms of PMS - moody, crampy, backache, you all know how it goes. i was two weeks from the end of my Ortho Lo pack, so it was on time for me. I usually get my period in the last week of the pill pack. then, last week, nothing. not so much as a spot of blood. this week, i'm perfectly fine, and four days from the end of the pill pack.

its possible that i'm pregnant - i had sex, and missed a pill for a day, but doubled up the next - but not probable considering the mess my horomones are in. i'm hypothyroid, and they just had to up the dosage again.

what do you think happened? could my cycle still be messed up from the laprascopy on april 11th? for my peace of mind, when could i take a pregnancy test and have the results be accurate?

I'm on the pill, and friday was my first no-pill day. Saturday, I got my period about midday. So while at work, I went into the washroom to put in my tampon, no big deal. 'Cept, the blood was kinda 'snot-like' in the way that ovulation discharge looks. It was kind of stingy and such. Anyone think this is a reason for concern? Or am I just midly paranoid? Thanks.

Odd question today, but it's one that's bugging me, and I figure someone on here will know the answer.

I was trying on bathing suits the other day, and I noticed for the 100th time that the crotch is lined, but the front seam is left open.

WHY is that?  I really hate it, because then I go to the beach, and the sand gets caught in there if I'm playing in the ocean and get knocked down by a wave (which is usually what happens because I suck at playing in the ocean, but it's all fun!)

I can't see any purpose for the seam.  I just can't.  But then again, I could just be really really ignorant of what the true purpose is.

Also, would sewing that seam shut leave a strange mark on the crotch of the bathing suit?

Alright....So Its been kind of burning when I pee after Sex which is Normal for me at least. But lately there has been light bleeding. Which I am On the pill and i know about break through bleeding. I'm suppose to start taking the reminder pills today. but the bleeding has been goin on all month off and on. Lately nonstop in the past week.
I've been on it for about three months now in a week.
and I've never had a problem with break through bleeding before.
It has been slightly uncomfortable to have sex but I think it had something to do with lack of lubrication. Any suggestions?
I could just be paranoid and crazy.

I don't know if this is the appropriate place to ask this, but I've gotten great advice from this community in the past, so why not.

Every time I go to sleep, I have a dream that I'm cheating on my boyfriend with someone who abused me emotionally and verbally about a year ago. I would never ever do this in real life, I would never even think of cheating on him with anyone. Is there a reason I'm having these dreams? Or is there any way I can stop them? I'm kind of getting afraid to go to sleep. I wake up feeling guilty.

I went to the beach yesterday and went in the water for a bit, now I'm really itchy down there. Possible yeast infection from the ocean?
[identity profile] letgodc5.livejournal.com
quick question... i am a worry wart..
[identity profile] ohkaye.livejournal.com
I've noticed lately that I've gotten this odd white discharge; it's the consistency of mucus and the color of milk, and has a slightly funky odor but nothing drastic. I've had yeast infections before and it's absolutely nothing like that. I'm not sexually active, so it can't be an STD symptom. I don't have any unnatural or out-of-the-ordinary itching, burning, or other odd smells, but it is kind of unpleasant... I'm due for my period, so I was wondering if that might be the reason. I'm not on the pill, but I am on Metformin (you can find out what it is by clicking here), but it doesn't have any side effects like this. Is this anything to worry about (does it ring any disease bells) or should I ignore it and see if it goes away?

Thank you in advance!
