This is rather embarrassing, but I guess that's what VP and anonymous journals are for...

I basically shave my whole body. I understand legs and pubic region are common, and arms semi-common as well. But I shave my stomach and chest (including my breasts) and my lower back and butt as well.

I have light blonde body hair, but I hate body hair regardless. It really is a pain to shave, and I'd hate for my boyfriend to find out, but I can't stop because it would be obvious and like I said I don't like hair.

I'm wondering if I'm totally alone here. Does anyone else do this?

I don't know if any of you ladies remember my post the other day regarding a pelvic infection or not. I'm supposed to go back on the 31st to check and see if its gone. I was also planning on asking for my pap that day, so I can go ahead and get it done. Not to mention, reading a lot of the posts here has me somewhat paranoid! Lol. I'm always paranoid about my health (as many of you can obviously tell). There may be one small issue though. Off and on, practically all the time, I sometimes have blood tinged cervical mucous. Its almost daily, really. I was wondering, would that affect the pap smear in any way? I would hate for them to call, or send a letter, stating inconclusive results and asking me to make another appointment for another pap smear. Also, I think I have to specifically ask for the HPV smear, is that correct? I know my old doctor's office automatically did the HPV test, but I'm not sure if my new doctor does. Any other tests not routinely done during paps that I'll have to specifically request for? I want to cover all grounds, if possible.

Thanks ladies. :)

i cant remember if someone has posted this Q before, but here is mine. I have never had a g-spot orgasm during sex. Any other way besides sex works. I am never stressed, always relaxed, sometimes spontaneous and nothing works. I have never worked myself up before so the pressure was never on. We have tried every position in the books multiple times and nothing seems to work. He does however, use manual stimulation during sex which seems to work well. Ive been with my bf over 5 years, and totally comfortable with him. I just find it odd that all my other girl friends are having them no prob and im not. Could our bodies just be the 'wrong fit' for each other? He is the only guy i've been with, and i am the only girl hes been with intimately, but with all that practice i would guess something would happen. more so now, i feel like im just having sex, for the sake of having sex, and i've given up on the idea of me actlly having one all together. comments? suggestions?

do you typically ovulate a lot more or less the 3 days before your period?
thank you!

I have a little bit of a story to tell, and then would like opinions from the questions at the end of it.

Awhile ago, I had a manager who didn't particularly like me. I don't know if that factored into what happened, but it sure didn't make me like her anymore. I worked Saturday morning, and I called in sick because I was having extreme period pain. I got a hold of the manager who didn't like me (let's call her M) and told her I was having very bad menstrual pain. She gets snippy, with a nasty tone in her voice and tells me to take some advil and call back in two hours to see if it's any better. So I call back in two hours and tell her I'm not feeling any better. She says, again in a snippy tone, (and this line is what this whole story is about), "I get bad cramps too, but I take some advil and I still manage to make it into work." And then she blathered on about how I was giving her attitude and that I was needed at work right away. (For the record, she thought everyone who didn't agree with her was giving her attitude.)

What she said really bothered me. I didn't realize until a couple days later, too late to defend myself (I did have a pissed off tone in my voice when I was talking to her and therefore got a talking to) what it was about that statement that bothered me so much. It was the way she assumed that I was exactly like her. What if I had endometriosis? (which I found out might be a possibility with me). What if I had an IUD that gave me incredibly painful periods? What if what if what if. Women are so different in their bodies it shocked me to think that she would assume I'm exactly like her. It also really, really pissed me off.

So these are the questions I have. I've been toying with the idea for awhile of contacting M and explaining to her why I was so upset. I really don't want another woman to be ordered to come into work when, for her, that's totally impossible. Is contacting her a reasonable thing to do? Do you think it would be productive?

If a situation like that arose in your life, how would you deal with it?

I started a 3 day monistat pack last night and had lots of itching from the meds, although not horribly bad I guess since I could put up with it. Today though I've been having some light pink bleeding going on, and also some cramping. I'm not due for my period for another week and I'm usually pretty regular, also I just got tested for STDs a few weeks ago so I know it's not anything else. Has anyone else had this experience from Monistat? I'm sort of worried about completing the next two days if that's what caused the bleeding. Should I just finish the course and deal with it, or should I stop and see a doctor for some diflucan?

Is your cervix supposed to be super low when you are on your period? I mean LOW, to the point where inserting a tampon is uncomfortable sometimes.

OK, so every single time I get my period, I have the hiccups about fifteen separate times a day for the first few days. A lot of the time the hiccups show up before my period, and that's how I know it's coming. They're really strong and I have a hard time getting rid of them. I don't know why this happens. I know there are certain things that can cause hiccups - examples are eating too fast and eating spicy foods - but I don't do any of them.

Does this happen to anyone else? Any suggestions about what I can do to get rid of them? It's embarrassing and frustrating and at times it borders on painful.

If it's relevant, I'm not on any contraceptives - I've had a tubal.

Thanks in advance!

I posted something similar to this on Ask_me_anything, so if you see this again, sorry.

The last time i got a swim suit was several years ago, and I got a one piece and some swim shorts because I had stretch marks on my inner thighs and they made me feel funny.
Last summer I was about ready to say "pff, screw that, no one looks there anyway!"
Then one of my friends used not shaving as an excuse for not swimming (it took me half an hour to realize that she wasn't talking about her legs or armpits, so I was confused for a while).
And so, I kept the shorts, thinking that people -must- just randomly notice these things.

So this summer I decided I needed a new suit, and opted for a bikini, then realized that I'm throwing myself into the same trap again, only this time, the bikini bottom isn't going to allow me to wear the shorts over it, and the shorts aren't quite proper for wearing nothing underneath. I like to be low maintenance, and I have a very low threshold for pain, so I'd like to just ignore it all, but...

Ferreals, are people going to notice a little bikini line when you spend the majority of your time under water (I'm definitely not the sunbathe type)? In my one pool experience this summer I'm pretty sure -I- never caught my eyes drifting to the crotches of my friends to check for defects... Is it something I really need to be conscious about, or shall I just throw on my new suit and jump in?

I am curious to hear what your personal policies are regarding oral sex with people of unknown STD status, and your reasoning behind your decision. It seems like people I've met fall into two camps, those who always use protection or don't do it at all (unless they know someone is STD-free) and those who don't use protection because they feel the benefit outweighs the risk and that oral sex with a barrier is not worth doing (i.e. it's awkward and no fun).

For me personally, in the past I have engaged in unprotected oral sex on a number of occasions, but I'm thinking of changing that for the future. I've never actually given oral sex with a condom or dental dam (I have sex with both men and women), because the one time I tried with a condom, the latex taste was so overwhelmingly disgusting that I couldn't continue. I now use only polyurethane condoms anyway, and I have noticed that they don't taste as bad as latex, so hopefully that wouldn't be an issue.

If anyone wants to share experiences (good or bad) or advice for protected oral sex I'm interested in hearing those, too.

Thanks for your info! I'm venturing into non-monogamous sex for the first time in 3 years and evaluating how I want to proceed.

Although I was only on it for two months, Nuvaring completely killed my sex drive. It's been almost two months that I've been off it, and I was hoping my libido would have come back by now. Nope -- not this time. :( When not on HBC, I've always been a very sexual person with a relatively high libido, and when it's gone, I feel like part of me is missing. I don't feel like myself.

Possibly relevant info: I am a bit stressed out by work, and often tired, but not depressed. I don't exercise much (okay, not at all). I think my diet's pretty healthy, though. I'm not currently on any medications. My relationship's great, except sex is lately a bit difficult and infrequent. Even though he's been really understanding, I feel awful every time I have to turn down my boyfriend because I just can't get into it. Masturbation, err, doesn't work -- I usually just fall asleep. :(

I'm curious about products (such as supplements) that are supposed to increase female libido. Has anyone tried any of them with any success? Are there any aphrodisiacs that actually work? Is there something else I can try?

I was just prescribed birth control (Ortho TriCyclenLo) to control my periods (which are nothing short of hellish—complete with fainting spells and really unbearable amounts of pain, etc.)

A week from tomorrow, I’m flying out of state with my boyfriend to visit his family for seven days. Which is when my period is due. I haven’t started taking the pills yet, and I know they recommend starting on the first day of your period or the Sunday within your period, but what if I start them now? Will the dosage be enough to keep me from starting my period in the next two weeks? Thanks for any help you can give! I’m really anxious about this stuff starting while I’m there for a whole host of reasons and I hope this could be a way to avert disaster…

I know if you're on the regular Pill and try to skip your placebo week, you can have spotting or a full-on period sometimes, but what if you're just starting and your regularly scheduled programming period would fall in the second week when the hormones are stronger?

Thanks in advance for any and all advice you can give.

For the record, I’m not using the Pill as BC at the moment, so it’s not like my protection would be compromised…

Well, I've just discovered the powers of my clitoris, which is really horrible when you think about it- all that time I could have spent masturbating wasted!
Well I've noticed that soon before I orgasm, my uterus (or maybe cervix?) itches like really bad, almost so much that I almost want to stop and just scratch my stomach like crazy.

I don't think there's anything wrong with me, but does this happen to anyone else?
It just seems kind of weird to get so itchy right before climax, haha.

Hello Girls!
I just had my period the first week of May.... Today, I had sex with my b/f..I havent seen him in about a month and 1/2...a few hours later I was bleeding slightly...it was red, but a very little bit..When we had sex he went inside of me without a condom only for 2 minutes..if that...then we used a condom and finished up..I'm not too concerned about pregnancy, but could it be ovulation or just because it has been so long since we had sex?? Any thoughts? Thanks!!

Hello All - I am new here and actually just joined Livejournal today after lurking around this community for some time (luckily stumbled upon it on a google search!) Anyway, I'm really, really hoping that maybe some of you here can help me or share your experiences with bacterial vaginosis so that I don‘t feel so alone in this.

So here's the situation:
