Hello everyone,

For my women's health activism class, I have to do an activism project. My group and I have decided on the wonderful idea of doing guerrilla theatre all over my college campus and in town. Our skits are going to be conversations about HPV, mostly conversations about having it. The purpose is to have people hear others telling someone signifcant in their lives that they have HPV and open up channels of communication in their own lives (hopefully).

I'm posting because it would be wonderful to get actual stories or accounts of how it went when you told someone that you have HPV. You can reply here, or if you would like you can email me at starburstchick@livejournal.com
You don't have to give any names, since we're basically just going to either use our own names or make them up.

Also, if you would like to hear the skits we will be taping some of them.

Thanks.

My awkward attempt at creating a uterus pinata for my Unbaby Party. I even put mini M&Ms bags in the tubes to simulate my Essure (www.essure.com) coils. Unfortunately, due to the secretaries thinking I was getting a tubal, I was mischeduled so my appointment just before the party ended up being unnecessary and my actual sterilization confirmation is a week from now.

My cramping and bleeding has been less since Essure...hopefully this keeps up (:

I went off HBC a month early and feel SO MUCH better for it. It just did not work for me. I thought nuvaring being in my vagina was causing my sex pain problems..... nope, the pill (Yasmin) did the same (and I also realized both were linked to pain EVERYWHERE in my body, I couldn't even use a q-tip in my ears because of that pain. Yasmin also made me irritable constantly.) Both also messed up my period schedule...hopefully after this period the spotting will settle down. I'm so relieved I won't have to spend the rest of my sex life figuring out which chemicals or contraptions work for me by trial and error.

So I've been doing research on different types of BC. Is the copper IUD the only BC without hormones that you can pretty much use spontaneously (as opposed to condoms)? Also, can anyone that has it tell me about insertion. I haven't had children so I'm worried that it might really hurt. TIA.
