so according to mymonthlycycles, i am 17 days late. i haven't been this late in about a decade.

i have been sexually active and we have been pretty careless, but all three pregnancy tests that i have taken in the past week have resulted in a negative.

how long should i wait before seeing a doctor?

and i am not stressed, eating differently, or exercising more or less frequently.

Hi everyone, I have a quick question.

My friend may be pregnant, and from what she said we agreed that she needs to take a test. So my questions are...

1. What test is the most reliable?
2. She had sex 2 or 3 weeks ago, so is it too early to find out?

Thanks!

I know my subject line sounds gross, but eh...

Alrighty. I started my period yesterday. I had been bleeding all day, and then later that evening, I noticed some really weird discarge. It was small, but bigger then anything I have seen before. It was clumpy and felt squishy, and came out in three different chunks. Two were small slithers and one was a little bigger then a nickle. They were three different colors. Dark blood-like red, a light pink, and a very small amount was sorta skin colored.

I could have been pregnant, but it would only be like a couple weeks. Im just not sure.

I saved the chunks in a little baggy.

What do you guys think??

Just curious...I've known for like....well probably forever that 100% cotton underwear should be the daily underwear of choice.

I just noticed that some underwear I bought years ago is 95% cotton and 5% spandax. I remembered asssuming at the time that the 5% refered to the elastic. I'm just realizing now that that's probably a horribily misguided assumption.

So my question is, is 5% really bad enough to justify throwing out these panties or is it passable?

I think I may have a yeast infection, but the only symptom I really have is the smell. Sometimes I have a white-ish discharge, but most of the time it's clear. Nothing is painful or itchy. I've never been to a gynocologist. What do you guys think it is? And what should I do about it? Thanks.

This might sound like a dumb question, but how do you know when your period is over? Is it when there's no more reddish blood?

Because everytime I get my period I'm never too sure when it ends. After about four -- five days, there's brownish discharge. Is that still part of my period?

I feel so dumb because I've been having my period since I was about 11 (I'm now nearly 18), and I'm not really sure.

Hi Everyone. I am new!
I posted this entry today in another community, and was referred over here;

I have recently turned 24, and since I went off of birth control 4 years ago, I've had problems with excruciating cramps. I also have a history of ovarian cysts. I have seen a naturopath in the past, and was told to take magnesium to help with the cramps, and exercise, etc.
Just last month I started up with the recommended exercise regime and magnesium, and had my first bearable period. It was PHENOMENAL! I only took 2 ibuprofen during the whole thing (in the past I have resorted to hardcore anti-inflammatories and pain killers).

Expecting the same thing this month I duplicated the way in which I received this period. Exercise... mellow out time... magnesium and calcium...relaxing hot baths.
Contrary to what I expected this month has by far been the most horrible terrible painful period I have ever had in my life!!! I have spent at least 3 hours for the last 4 days completely unable to move. Usually this magnitude of pain only lasts for one day
I am literally bleeding out giant nasty clots like I did when I was younger. The whole bottom of the toilet has a thick coat of clotted blood before I flush.
I am in so much pain I feel like puking, and am dizzy presumably from the endorphoines my body has been releasing to deal with this.
I don't know what the heck to do. I have my own housekeeping business, and can't afford to call in sick and dissapoint my clients.
I was just reading Women's Bodies/Women's Wisdom, and it talked about how your body communicates with you, and it seems to me that the message one month ago was 'I welcome and enjoy this new positive healthy change. It's about dam time!', and this month it is, "You will always fear your period until the end of time-now get into bed and read a book for a week while you develop an iron deficiency from all the blood I am robbing you of"

Anyways, I am asking if anyone has any ideas to help soothe the pain, or has had similar experiences. Currently I use a combo of ice packs and heating pads, alternating them. I just want to stay away from pain pills because I am having to go to work and interact with clients, plus I hate the way they make me feel 'clouded'. I don't smoke pot anymore, even though I have been told it could be good for my cramps, it just makes me feel too 'icky' for that to be a feasible pain relief alternative.

I really don't know what the heck is up with my body. I have a specialist appointment in December, but that is another period away!
Anything anyone says will be much appreciated!
