Alright... I think I may have actually posted about this same yeast infection in here a couple times now... but here's a recap, because I bet my yeast infection posts stood out about as much as a grain of sand in the desert.
In February or so, I had a UTI. I went to the gyno, and he gave me some antibiotics to treat it, as well as two Diflucan to treat the yeast infection that I knew I'd get from the antibiotics. I started to get a yeast infection on my second day of treatment, but after I finished off the Diflucan (per his instructions, one halfway through the antibiotics, one after finishing them,) it went away. A few weeks later, I felt like I was maybe getting another UTI, so I took some Cystex. I avoided the UTI, but got a little bit of a yeast infection instead. I went through seven days of Monistat, and it went away. For two weeks. I tried using acidophilus this time. It worked, for about two weeks. I bought some more Monistat. Again, it worked for about two weeks. I went back to the gyno a week ago, and he gave me Gynazole 1. I used it that night.
I seem to be leaking white stuff again, and smelling a bit off. What gives?
I remember my doc saying something about Gynazole working differently than Monistat because instead of just sitting up inside you, it actually binds to the walls of the vagina, and so it's more effective. Does it absorb, too, or does it just hang out up there and slowly find its way to the crotch of my panties?
I'm not entirely sure it's my yeast infection coming back, because I'mwonderinghoping that it might just be the Gynazole searching for the light at the end of the tunnel. My discharge is neither thick nor clumpy, but far whiter than it should be, and it definitely has a hint of incorrect smell to it, although it's not quite strong enough to tell if it smells like a yeast infection or not, and, unfortunately, I can't exactly get a second opinion on the smell.
My doctor also switched me from OTC lo to the Nuva Ring (I also started using this a week ago,) specifically because ever since I've been on the pill, I've been getting yeast infections every couple months or so, and before I started taking the pill, I never got them. He said that the Nuva Ring was less likely to give me yeast infections, because it used a lower doseage of hormones... Is it at all possible that my vagina is just not too thrilled about having a jelly bracelet stuck up there, and that's why it's discharging, and maybe the Nuva Ring is slightly altering the way I smell on top of making me discharge?
... And, if this IS the return of that ^*#@!*& yeast infection, WHAT GIVES and HOW DO I KILL THE BASTARD ALREADY?
