I was told that when you start the patch during your period, you have to apply the patch no later than the first day of your period to be protected immediately and otherwise you have to use backup for seven days. However, I just read on Planned Parenthood's site that if you apply the patch within the first FIVE days of your period, you are protected immediately. Which one is it? I just started the patch today (day #5 of my period) after being off of it for a month. Do I need to use backup protection or not? I'm so confused! I've never heard of this 5-day thing before...

I finished my three month cycle of seasonale last sunday, the 7th. That was the end of my placebo week. I got my new birth control pack, Apri 28, today. I took two pills when I got it, and I took two tonight at my regular time. Between that time, I had sex, and the condom broke. Do I need to take EC?

okaaaaay. im getting married in a few months. i need to start birth control soon because we want to wait at least a couple months to have kids. my question is (and im really sorry if its been addressed): can birth control decrease your chances of having a baby when you want to have one (after youve stopped taking it) ???

Sometimes I think I love this community so much that I just subconsciously invent problems for myself to post.. hehe.

In all seriousness though, I'm having a bit of an issue and I think it might have something to do with my birth control (Mircette). Basically, it's the week before my period (I should start in about two days) and I'm having some of the craziest emotions of my life. I feel miserable all the time, am unable to do schoolwork and break down crying for absolutely no reason. Unfortunately I don't really pay attention to my cycle well enough to know if I ever had anything resembling PMS before I started the pill, and if it started/got worse afterward, but I do know that it's never been this bad before (I've been on the pill for 5 or 6 months). There's nothing going on in my life that would cause this, so I'm sure there's some kind of physical cause... the only other thing I can think of is that I haven't been eating right, since I know I get grumpy when I'm hungry and I've basically been eating pure carbs all week thanks to the crappy cafeteria in my dorms, haha. I might have just gotten paranoid after seeing someone else post about being moody when on the pill, but I really can't think of what else it could be.

So I'm wondering.. have any of you had this kind of experience with Mircette or any other brand of pill? What can I do about it?

Will using a female condom during period sex make it any less of a mess?

I'm co-hosting a a show called "Live Nude Grrrls...On Radio" over the summer on my campus' radio station. It's all about sex and I was wondering if anyone had good links to good sources for sex news (I'm looking for a mix of scientific findings and laws and politics about sex/sexuality).

Also, you can listen to our show on-line Wednesday nights at 9:30pm (EST) on Trent Radio.

Thanks!

I've been having this weird cramp-y feeling in my lower abdomen for about three days now. For a lack of better words, it kind of feels like my uterus is "full." It's not a sharp pain like I get during my period, but a dull pain, like you get when you've eaten too much.

It hurts especially when I lay down; in fact, the reason that I am posting this now is because it got so uncomfortable as I was laying down to go to sleep.

I think I am ovulating about now, and I last got my period on the 25th of April. I'm getting nervous because I briefly put my boyfriend's penis in me unprotected the day before this feeling started, and since I think I am ovulating now, I'm very worried. I vaguely remember experiencing this full feeling before, a few days prior to my period about two months ago.

What could this mean? Thank you for your help!
