I'm planning on seeing a doctor regardless as I'm overdue for a round of STD tests, but I'd like to ask fellow vagina owners if they've ever experienced anything like this.

I tried to find the answer to this before posting, but I'm still unsure and wanted to get the opinion of some of you.

I lost my virginity this past weekend, and since then, every time I urinate I feel a slight burning sensation. It's not completely uncomfortable... but I don't neccesarily enjoy it either. Also, twice there has been a very, very small and light spot of blood (I just finished my period the other day though).

Is it something serious? Or something I just have to wait out?
Thanks!

Is it normal to have brown discharge a day or two after a colposcopy?

Can you think of any reasons that a woman's PMS symptoms would change very drastically from one month to the next?  For forever, I experienced only mild PMS with little cramping.  These last 2 periods have been HORRIFIC before they arrive, but fine afterwords.  Embarrassing emotional things (crying for no reason, try explaining that one to a group of 6th graders, oy), extreme fatigue and awful cramps.
I haven't changed medications, diet, sleep, anything, so I'm sort of at a loss as to why this is happening.  If it matters (because I know sometimes age can play a factor) I'm almost 25.

Hi everyone,

I have one question which I'm sure many of you have wondered about at some point.

I am almost convinced that it is a complete myth that combination birth control (i.e. most brands that women use, including the nuva ring and the patch) cause women to gain weight. Many of my friends report that indeed, it is a myth, but I thought I'd tap into this great resource and see what you all know... apparently, studies have indicated that it doesn't cause women to gain weight, and that some women lose weight, therefore hormonal birth control can't be the cause of any change in weight.

Any knowledge or personal experiences would be appreciated!

in solidarity

Hey guys! I just checked the invaluable HBC FAQ and I didn't see this, so hopefully it's ok to ask here.

I am switching from horrible, horrible Ortho-Tricyclen-Low to Yasmin TODAY! I have been having the most rotten side effects and so my Dr. is switching me from a triphasic to a monophasic... well, I usually take my pill at 3 pm on the dot and with a 1/2 hr. exception once in a while, I always take it at the same time.

Today is my first day of the new pack, and I will be in the middle of a class when I'm supposed to take it, which is kind of... embarassing? I dunno, but it would stop me from having to take my pill in the middle of class if I took it at 4 (which would also work for next semester as well.).

How do I go about switching pill times? Since it's my first day of my new pack, can I just... take it at four, and keep taking it at four? Or is there some gradual thing I can do?

You guys are always such a big help, thank you SO much. ♥

I called to make an appointment but I don't have to because all they do is the urine testing.

However, yesterday marked my seventh week of no-period and i had slight cramping in the lower part of my tummy but when i went pee, the cramping went away. I feel sick in the morning/vomiting on tuesday. Complete signs from all the 'pregnancy websites' that i've visted, yet i still take a home-tester and it comes up negative.

Are the planned parenthood testing better than store-bought? They don't do blood-testing, I don't know where i can go to get blood testing.

Could I sign up for medicaid (i think that's what it's called.) Say i'm pregnant, get into a doctors but I heard that you had to have a statement from planned parenthood saying you are indeed pregnant.

One girl from work had to wait until she was 5 months along to get any kind of free-health care because she always showed up negative on urine tests. The people wouldn't say okay, you are pregnant.

if you're pregnant, will you continue to ovulate? if you don't ovulate, will you still produce that clear egg-white discharge that's supposed to mean you're ovulating? and if you're pregnant, will you produce that clear egg-white discharge without ovulating?

As seen on [community profile] feminist, here:

Donate to Aunt Flo

From now until October, Seventh Generation, producer of chlorine-free toilet paper, facial tissue, tampons and more, will give a box of tampons or pads to a womens shelter every time visitors to www.tampontification.com click the "donate" link.

Says the eco-company, "You and I may take our monthly trips down the feminine care aisle for granted, but, for women in shelters, a box of tampons is five dollars they can't spare."

From here (halfway down the page)

Now, my vp rockstars, all you have to do is click on the link, and follow the instructions.  It doesn't cost a thing and just takes a few seconds of your time.

And a big thanks to the rockstar awesome mods who let me post this here!!! :)

My boyfriend got me to orgasm for the first time in like 2 months! Heh. (We don't get to see each other much, and our opporotunities for sex are even less than that, so I mean it's not like we have ALOT of sex or anything, just when we do I've been too tense to be able to orgasm and it's been very frustrating. Hell, the last time we managed to get me off, we were using my vibrator. He tries his best, but it just hasn't been happening.) Buuuuut today we started fooling around, he went down on me and after some time and effort... well, you know!

Another problem is, the last few times we've tried to have sex he has some kind of shoulder/neck spasm and it's so painful for him we have to stop. Even with me on top. :( He says it's from the heavy lifting he does at work. :(((( I guess that's more just a complaint than a call for advice, since I don't think there's much we can do about it. Argh. My poor boy is falling apart!

Hi,

I was told by my gyno that i had an abnormal pap smear, so i have an appt. for Tuesday to be looked at by someone who knows more about it.

They said that it was an ASKUS (is that how you spell it?) Pap, and that they think i might have HPV and are worried because of the risk of cervical cancer.

i asked if it was anything that i could spread to a partner, and she said no, they had tested for STDs and the tests all came back negative. but i was reading some of the memories and doing some research online and i read that you can definitely spread HPV. now i feel very misinformed and i'm afraid that i may have spread it to my partner (though it is possible he spread it to me unknowingly, but who knows).

She also told me not to worry, it was just something that some women had. I definitely remember her telling me not to worry.

but i am worried. i don't know what to think, and i wasn't nervous until i started doing research.

also: is it something you could be born with? other than having it passed on to me by my mother, because she doesn't get abnormal paps.

i'd appreciate any input anyone has on this, because everything i've read seems to contradict and i'm just really confused. :(

so i posted this in the menstrualhut community cuz i thought it might be more appropriate for that one..but i only got 2 replies and i was hoping for a wider variety of info/thoughts and such. this is my post, i hope you guys have some thoughts =)

looked in the memories about this so if i missed it, please point me in the right direction.

okay here goes:
on tuesday 4/4 i got my period and it didnt go away until thursday the 20th. i thought that maybe it was just a really long period or something..theyre usually like only 4 or 5 days long so i thought maybe it was making up for missed times? i dont know..
but it went away so i was happy.

today (4/25) in 6th hour at school i got a cramp and i thought that maybe i had to go to the bathroom or something and i told my friend i got a cramp and she said "haha maybe you got your period!" and i was like well i hope not. so i went to the bathroom and sure enough, i had gotten my period..again..

so, i was just wondering if this happens sometimes. its never happened to me before or my friend i was talking to..im starting to get a little worried..

anything any of you have to say would be appreciated. thanks in advance! =)

(i still have the period i got on tuesday. its been fairly light but still clearly there..=/. thank you guys so much!!)
