I have a question about my period... I am putting under a cut just to be safe...

Hello, everyone. I have a does-this-happen-to-anyone-else question. :) Sorry that it's rather long.

The last time I went to my gyno (during the Olympics, because I was knitting a sweater for the Knitting Olympics in the waiting room), I mentioned that I'd been having pretty bad cramps even when I wasn't having my period (my period cramps have always hurt quite a bit, it runs in the family, but nothing debilitating). So my doctor said that, you know, it could be endo, but he obviously couldn't say for sure without the surgery and he didn't even want to jump to saying it was "probable." So he gave me some pamphlets and I did some endo research on reputable websites (found thanks to this community).

So I mentioned it to my mum and she said that severe period pain does run in our family. She also said that my grandmother had endo, but she never did, as far as she knows (she had a hysterectomy after my youngest brother was born, so I guess it's possible that it would have developed later on). So this made me somewhat worried, but at the time I'd stopped having the weird cramps, so I resolved to pay more attention to when they came and what kind of pain it was. (Edited for clarity.. whoops!)

Having done so for a couple of cycles now, I really don't think I have endo. The pain is about the same as the cramps I get during my period, but the thing that makes me think it's not endo is that I only get these cramps for about a week after my period ends. Like they're leftover from that week and just need more time or something. After about a week, they're gone, and then I get two nice pain-free weeks before my period starts again (made regular by HBC).

So, my question (at last): does this happen to anyone else? Is it something perfectly normal that I only really started to notice recently? On the flip side, is this something completely not-normal that I need to continue to worry about, as it could be beginning signs of endo (or something else)?

Thanks for any input!

Okay, here's the details:

About 3 weeks ago, I asked if there was any way I could be lactating without being pregnant. The answer was generally no, but soon after that, I started noticing a pattern of being really nauseous and/or vomiting in the morning for about 4.5 weeks in total. I attributed both things to being due to stress and left it at that.

Two weeks ago, on Monday, I got the death period of doom, we're talking cramps like I've never thought possible, being incredibly nauseous, going through 2 boxes of super tampons in 3 days, and actually having one of them pushed out of my body by a very clumpy, thick flow. It lasted 5 days, and was a week earlier than my expected period.

Then this Monday, three days after the last one ended, I got the exact same symptoms, the same crazy painful, disgustingly heavy period. I could hardly move for most of it, and it's just letting up today.

What the hell is happening to me? If I was pregnant, it could have only been a month in, and I'm certainly not now. Any thoughts/questions/opinions would be greatly appreciated.

smegma?

Okay, this whole smegma thing. In the past month or so, I've been noticing this white flaky stuff building up all over the place. It's not an outrageous amount and it doesn't smell, but it's highly unusual. I've only had one yeast infection before, about a year ago.
I'm not sexually active, though I mess around with my boyfriend, we don't have intercourse, and I've not had consensual sex before.
And I'm a pretty healthy girl- I run daily, eat minimal sugar and unnatural things, it's just this stuff is bugging.

So, tell me about it, and what do I do. If it's normal, I'm not uberly concerned, but I don't like it and this is just not normal for me.

Thanks dollfaces♥

(I've been to the Gyno before for irregular periods, but was never really "examened")

You may have remembered my post about the Lump and the YI. Well I finally told my mom about it and I'm going to the Gyno tomorrow. I just looked at all the resources on VP about trips to the gyno, but they didn't help much in my case, I guess?

I don't know what they're going to do to me! Well, I was reading the one website http://www.firstvisit.org/.. but they weren't all that hepful. That was mainly due to the fact that the topics they surrounded their info was BC, sex, and irregular periods.

Anyway, I came to you ladies once again to ask you: How do they determine what is wrong with me? and I am 19, but not sexually active or anything: will they perform a pap smear or pelvic exam?

thanks a lot, everyone!

Anyone use this vibe?
Pocket Rocket
I'm in need of a new one, and since I'm on a budget...this one is fairly inexpensive. I had the Hitachi as a gift, but it died, and to be totally honest I wasn't all that thrilled with it, maybe because I would rather have something that vibes and is insertable. I prefer clitoral stimulation if that helps. He doesn't care either way! Hah!
I looked in the memories and couldn't find anything specifically on this vibe, so I hope this is OK.
Pros/cons? Any better recs in the same price range? If I could afford it, there'd be a couple I'd be all over.
I'm not a huge fan of the bullets, but I'm not totally against them. And the jelly ones from my experiance don't tend to hold a vibe very well. But maybe that's me??
Anywho, thanks for the reccomendations/opinions gals!

Edited to add: Maybe I should consider getting 2? One for each job per say?? Haha

Will a hydrogen peroxide douche make my Ring less effective? I think I have a YI and thought I'd try this formula first since we produce hydrogen peroxide naturally down there.

Edit: I'm more than willing to try the garlic treatment since it's easy and cheap but thought I'd try this out first since I don't know for what reason other than doing boric acid alongside the Ring may make it less effective. There are websites out there that says it can work; I just wanted to know if it'll make my Ring less effective.

I was talking to my best friend in Ottawa about my recent girly problems and she mentioned this community to me. Now that I've had a look it seems I'm one of my livejournal friends that didn't know about this! (thanks Maggie!! jkin)

Anyway, in an attempt to keep it short...
I was born with two uteruses (uteri), two cervix and two vaginal openings.
It's caused a host of problems in my life both with my periods, my sex life, my hormones, and caused anxiety about whether or not I can ever have children.
My new doctor has been great, but doesn't have a lot of information to answer any of my questions.
So I thought I'd try here.

Does anyone else have a uterine abnormality like this? And what has your experience been like with sex, children, periods....??

(Uterine abnormalities are pretty common - unless you have double uterus like me - so I encourage all of you, sexually active or not, to have regular PAP tests done. And full physicals if you plan to have children. Much better to know ahead of time there's an abnormality then find out later! Trust me.)

Hi-

The day before yesterday I noticed a couple of whitish raised bumps on my vulva area. They're almost at the top of the slit, and they're on either side kind of hugging the "hair line". The only thing stopping me from rushing to a clinic (other than not knowing where there is one, but I could fix that) is the fact that they seem to blend in with the skin under my pubic hair, which is just sort of bumpy in general (like chicken skin, kinda). But the bumps that are on my vulva where there is no hair look a little bigger, and I don't remember them being there, at least not as big (then again I don't spend as much time looking down there as I should). I googled some pictures of warts, and none of them except this really look like it, and they're smaller than what's shown in that pic (and in a completely different place). I have a committed boyfriend who I've had unprotected genital contact with (although I know you can still get HPV using a condom), but I haven't been able to talk with him about it as we're currently in an LDR.

Possibly unrelated, but I have been a bit itchier down there in the last five or so months (I had a yeast infection that I treated, but it might not have gone away totally?), but I think that might be related to my crappy clothes detergent.

I need advice, and a hug :(

Hi there. I checked the archive but I didn't really find anything that answered my question. It's a two-parter. =0D

1. I'm obsessed with Lush, particularly their bath products. They are wonderful, nice-smelling, everything... but they seem to give me yeast infections! I'm pretty prone to yeast infections anyway, but one bath is enough to trigger a yeasty beasty. I'm gutted at the idea of having to give up baths forever, or otherwise have to do major yeast damage control after every one. I was just wondering if anyone had any advice/experiences they could share with me.

2. Speaking of baths, does anyone find it advisable to take baths while on their period? I'm on mine right now, and I'd like to take a bath, for general relaxation, cramp-relief purposes, but I don't want to end up sitting in menstrualated water! If I wore my Keeper in the water, would that be enough?

Thanks in advance, ladies. =0D
