I'm not sure where to post this, but here's a start. I'll post in [livejournal.com profile] endometriosis once I join. But here's my qustion
I have been on Depo for about four years. How common/possible is it for one to have or develop endo while on the Deposhot?

This article: http://news.yahoo.com/s/csm/20060215/wl_csm/oentourage really bothers me, and I felt like posting it here.

Beyond the obvious problems with the idea that women need chaperones, what really, really infuriated me was the guy's justification of it at the end:

"If a woman is on a three-day journey, far from home, and she falls sick, who will look after her?" asks Shalgarai. "If someone else's woman is sitting in the same row of seats as you, well, human beings have different drives, including sexual drives. Sometimes these cannot be controlled. This is to save the dignity of women."

Yes, it's all for our own good because men can't control themselves.  And while we're at it, for our own good, why don't we just lock ourselves indoors for the rest of our lives until some man deigns to lead us out into the big, scary world?

Grr.

I checked the memories.
I found this post.

I'm pretty sure I have the exact same thing that poor girlie had.

Monday night I noticed an itchy, sort of painful bump on my left outer labium near the bottom of my vulva. Wasn't a big deal at the time, except masturbating with my vibrator made it itch more and it was distracting. I looked at it in a handheld mirror and saw a small red bump. I called my boyfriend over and asked him what he thought it was. His response: "It's just a zit. I've had zits on my penis before." Me: "But do zits itch?" Him: "Sometimes they do..."

So I brushed it off. Just a vulva zit. No big deal.

Tuesday it had multiplied. There were approximately four near the bottom of my vulva, on both outer labia. Then yesterday there were a bunch more. They are all up both outer labia. They are horrendously itchy, and they're painful with directly messed with. My period started yesterday so I was wearing a pad to bed, and the pad was irritating these bumps and making them so itchy I couldn't sleep. Luckily, my period was light enough last night that I could sleep without a pad, so I tossed it. This morning the itch seems to have subsided (thank GOD!) but I'm sure if I go touching the bumps they will itch again.

Yeah, it might be herpes. I don't know much about herpes. I do know that I have never intentionally had unprotected sex. I've had a grand total of 11 partners, and my boyfriend and I have been monogamous (with condoms every time) for five and a half months. I was raped this past summer (July or August), and I have no idea what that guy could've had, so... :/
I just finished my first month on the Nuvaring this past Sunday. I found it weird that I and the girl in the post linked to above had that in common. Could it be a funky reaction? I need to make an appointment with Planned Parenthood, but it's currently a pain to call because it always takes me forever to get through. I might go to my school's walk-in clinic, but I'll have to wait until next week when I'm not gushing blood.

Edit: I have an appointment with my school's health center scheduled for next Wednesday, but I'm still waking up in the middle of the night because of the itch. :(

Does anyone have any idea what is wrong with me?

If you are doing the YI garlic treatment, it says to wrap it in guaze and use UNWAXED floss. Is it really that big of a deal? Because all I have is waxed. Its not flavored or anything so it should be ok right?

Hey: my first post here but i finally have something to ask....

My mom Just met with a Dr. who asked her to let all females in my family know that she has tested "positive for one copy of the R506Q (factor V leiden) mutation.............and thus is at risk for venous thrombosis". Anyway it is tied to blood clotting and is a concern although not a major one because only one copy, vs two copies, was detected.

She suggested that we all get tested (since its genetic) or at least mention it to your Dr. when going over birth control or hormone therapy as its presense magnifies the risks associated with hormone therapy/birth control. Especially given my gram-mom and Great Granny's history of high blood pressure and strokes.

im 21 and am on birth control for the regulating of my periods ....do you guys have any idea what any of this is or how much i should worry? other than my infertility, hormonal imbalances and my f*ed up ears im a normal 21 yr old who doesnt smoke and barely drinks

I have a yeast infection (itching, discharge, bread-y smell...how lucky!!!) and used some Monistat-1 last night. Everything's going quite well, but I'm a little bit concerned about the discharge color.

It's only every now and then, but sometimes when I wipe, the discharge looks a little bit bloody. I'm on birth control (Kariva-28), but have never really experienced break through bleeding. Do you think it's just that? Or could it be something else? Maybe some other kind of irritation? (My "swim suit zone" is very sensitive, and sometimes just scratching too hard can cause it to bleed...and even though I'm a little bit of an itch city with this yeastie, I've been good about not scratching.)

Also, how long does treatment generally last on Monistat-1? Like, when will I be "done" with it?

Thanks in advance...and sorry if a question like this was already posted! :)

recently, my boyfriend and i have been doing more nipple play. he began to do a lot more sucking/licking than normal and then just a few days ago, my left nipple got extremely weird. my nipple has been REALLY itchy. also, the area just around my nipple is beginning to get scaly/crusty. does anyone know what the heck is happening!? my best guess is that things got a little too intense too fast, but i never would've expected all this itching and crusting to happen.

Is it possible to get Essured on the NHS, does anyone know? And how old do they like you to be for any kind of sterilisation?

i KNOW i've seen posts regarding this, but i didn't find anything in the archive(and stupid me never bothered to really read those posts...)...so pardon the repost.

i got my period rather early this month...right now is when i'm SUPPOSED to be getting it, but it came on the first of the month...two days after i flew home from seeing the manhalf(and having as much sex as we could handle).

well, here we are 16 days later, and it's restarted. i've been crampy/headachey all day, moody, i've had an oily face the past 2 days - essentially, everything i SHOULD get right around this time of the month. so, i'm confuddled. what would cause this? i'm making an appointment to hit up PP next Friday so i planned on bringing this up anyway, but any opinions from the masses would be greatly appreciated. i'm slightly concerned about it.

Okkk.. I know that only two posts down is a similar post, but I think mine has a few differen't circumstances, so please don't be angry!! hehe..

You see.. I'm on birth control, ortho-tri cyclen to be exact, and have been on for about 4 years now. Everything has gone as.. planned, until this month. I had my period as usual and started taking my pills 7 days later as usual, only one problem: my period hasn't stopped. I just kept taking my bc pills every day, because the book says to keep taking the pills even if you are bleeding.. Well, now I've run out of pills, and my period STILL hasn't stopped. I have not had sex within this past month... and I would really, really appreciate some imput.

Is this uncommon? Could there be something wrong? I do NOT want to see a gyno / doctor unless it's absolutely necissary since i am EXTREMELY poor right now. I have $17 in the bank, and that aint coverin gyno checkups! So I would rather you guys give your two cents so I can kind of weigh out my decision. And please don't comment telling me I'm stupid because I'm not going to the gyno, either, please.. I dont enjoy those comments.

So anything you guys can tell me would be great.. or anywhere you can direct me to. Again, I apologize for posting something similiar to a few posts below me.

I vaguely remember a post here a long time ago about a baking soda pregnancy test: You put a little bit of baking soda in a clean glass, peed in the glass, and it would fizz depending on whether you were pregnant.

... but I can't remember which result was which. I've looked through the archives and memories and I've Googled several variations of "baking soda pregnancy test", but I can't what I'm looking for. Does anyone remember this or know anything about it, or am I just making it up?

EDIT: If I were really concerned about an accurate pregnancy test, OF COURSE I'd buy a real pregnancy test. I figured it was a myth, I was just curious if anyone had heard of this.

alright, so i've kind of noticed this lately what with just having bought a divacup and with tampons and stuff before, it seems like my vaginal canal is tilted slightly to the right. i first noticed it with tampons but i didn't really care cuz i assumed that since i was inserting it with my right hand, it was bound to feel like it was going in that direction, but now with my divacup, i find that i rubs against the inside wall of the left side of my vag, as in it's tilting to the right. at first i thought the cup was just misplaced, i've also trimmed the stem because it was causing really bad iritation before, but i tried repositioning it and found it actually does push to the right. i've also found that i have these strange kind of extra folds of skin around my vag, i don't know if that's my hymen, or anything. i don't really know, it's not that it's that bothersome, and it doesn't hurt, but is it possible?

I'm doing the miconazole nitrate suppositories to clear up my yeast infection. I inserted one at aprox. 1 pm today because i wanted to get things started ASAP. can i put in another before i go to bed tonight and then an additional one tomorrow morning? the directions say before bed to prevent leakage but i havent had a lot leaking out. thanks :)

[identity profile] girlnameddoor.livejournal.com
Ok girls. So I just got back from seeing the Vagina Monologues for the first time (loved it!) and I just agreed completely with "My Angry Vagina" and the lack of lubricated tampons. For me, it doesn't seem to matter if I use a cardboard applicator, plastic applicator, or no applicator. Those things just don't want to slide in without lube. This is no big deal when I put one in first thing in the morning. I can just take the lube into the bathroom with me. Midday changes, however, are so problematic that I don't use them. I suppose I could carry lube around with me all day, but as far as I can tell lube containers always leak. My purse does not need assistance in being penetrated, thank you very much.

So here's the question - can I buy lubricated tampons anywhere? I don't care if I have to order them online. I searched, and all I found were these weird disk things that were designed so that you could keep them in while having sex. Which seems like a great idea, but it's not what I'm looking for.

If they tragically don't exist, can you think of a kind of lube that comes in a small, discreet, leak proof container? My vagina will be less angry either way.
