hey..i know this has probably been asked before...but i cannot find it. i have a vibrator and i have no clue how to clean it! water and tissues doesnt seem to work cause the tissue gets stuck. i tried hand sanitizer and it smelled clean...it just had stuff all over it (i havent cleaned it in awhile and the more i wiped the more stuff got on)... i really need to clean this thing but i havent got a clue. my bf called me for phone sex and because of what i used (the hand sanitizer) i got so dry i couldnt put it in! i had to poor water on my vagina tgo get it in...finally after the 5th orgasm or so i finally got wet on my own. ...

...basically how am i supposed to clean the thing and actually get it clean? and not get dry afterwards?

Hello, I've searched the archive and couldn't find an answer to my questions so...
I've been on the Pill (Mercillon) for two and a half years now, but having not been sexually active for the past six months I have decided to go off it.

I asked my OBGYN what kind of side effects I may experience from the withdrawal, she said my next few menstrual bleeds may be a little off the mark (either later, or earlier).

I was just curious to know what, if anything, any of you experienced after dropping hormonal BC after long time use.

Thanks in advance.

I’m 18, I’m thinking about getting on birth control. I haven’t had sex yet. I’m in a relationship though. I just want to be 100% covered when the time comes, but I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions or advice that could help?

Ow.

Erm. Hi.

First time poster. I looked through the back entries, and I really couldn't find anything that I thought related, so.

lord, this is embarassing.

My inner labia are sore (not itchy, but sore, like, hurts-to-move sore), and there's some seriously strange discharge involved. All gooey and snot-like. Kind of a garlicy smell, though I haven't had any garlic. Also, last night there was some strange sort of achy throbbing sensation underneath the surface.

I've been on the patch for about a week now. Maybe it's related. I'm not sure.

I don't think it's a yeast infection. I could be wrong.

Help?

I know it depends on which ones and all, but I am just wondering if anywhere at all does it.

I'm on OTC-lo now, with about three for months worth of pills.

I just moved to a new University, where it's health care is insane. (The pap smear is six bucks more than my old school, which is okay. But a pack of pills went up by like $20 (more than twice) from my old school's prescription) And they only prescribe two types of pills.)

Anyway, I was wondering, if I get a pap smear at my University, would I be able to Planned Parenthood and have them write me a prescription for pills or nuvaring (which I am considering changing to)? Or would PP have to give me a pap smear in order to give me birth control? I'm not sure how it all works.

I'm in San Antonio if that matters.

After thinking about a conversation I'd had with [livejournal.com profile] mermaiddrowning I have decided to buy some Neem oil from mountainroseherbs.com and make a blend with Sea Buckthorn oil, Calendula oil, and vag-safe essential oils like lavender and chamomile. Does anyone happen to know how much neem it takes to be effective, or would even the lowest concentration work just as well as a high concentration?

This is probably one of those paranoia questions, however - Since mid-December, I have had two "dry" spots about half an inch above my lip, closer actually to my nostril. They've just been dry, though - kind of flaky, rubbery/red look. I have typically oily skin, so this is really abnormal for me. One of the dry spots has recently gone away, but the other is still slightly there. I have lived all my life in fairly humid places (Seattle and Boston) and have just recently moved to Utah where it's very, very dry. Could this just be "winter itch" ??

Also, I have little white dry skin on several fingers near the fingernails on the pads of my fingers. I have seen photos of herpes on the fingers and worried me because I had been picking at the dry flakes on my face

My sister-in-law has herpes 1, and I can't find any reliable information on how spreadable things are. There's no tag for herpes and there's not really any information in the archives that I can find. I honestly have no idea about herpes, the difference between the different kinds of infections, etc.

i just realized today that i was supposed to take my ring out yesterday..but now that i think about it i dont really feel like having a period right now, so i kinda want to skip it this month. so i know i've seen people say its good for up to 4 weeks instead of the usual 3 you would leave it in, but is it as effective if you leave it in for 4 weeks? Planned parenthood gave me a free one so if its safer for me to just put in a new one i dont really mind doing it.

thanks!

On the second-hand advice of a friend's doctor (mine is kind of useless about anything related to the Pill), I've recently started taking Vitamin E and most of the Vitamin B complex in an effort to counteract the effects of long term HBC and massive stress. Anyone had a good/bad experience with these vitamins and the Pill before? Am I wasting my money?

I am currently scheduled to have a hysteroscopy and D&C this Monday. To give a little background, I've been on 5 different brands of BC (OTC, OTC-lo, OTC again, TriNessa (OTC generic), Ovcon-35 and currently Seasonale) in 5 years and have had very similar side effects with all. Basically, I still get horrible cramps, diarrhea, and breakthrough/spotting. Recently, I have heavy spotting w/ dark brown discharge for the 1.5-2 weeks before my week long period; so essentially, I am bleeding for 3 weeks. Because of this, my doctor wants to perform the hysteroscopy. I've already had 2 ultrasounds (first came back fine, still waiting on the second). I am not pregnant and am STD-free.

The hysteroscopy is being done as an out-patient surgery. I will be put to sleep completely during the whole thing.

What I want to know is, has anyone else had a hysteroscopy? What was you experience with one? What should I expect? Also, any insight as to what the procedure could reveal? Thanks!

Ok. So as far as I know I have never had a yeast infection in my life.

However, right now I'm ready to just scratch all the skin off my vagina! I do not know what this could possibly be!

I can't explain the discharge or smell because I just got my period monday, but all day monday & today my vagina has been really red, sore, dry & insanely itchy.

I really just don't know what this could be. I am on antbiotics right now, but ive NEVER gotten a yeast infection from them. I was thinking of going to Planned Parenthood to find out mainly because I don't know how to talk to my mom about it, & i'm going with my friend on Friday anyways.

Could you please just give me any ideas on how to at least ease the itching. It hurts so freaking bad & i don't know what to do.

I was thinking either BV or a yeastie. But i can't tell because of the lack of discharge. I will hopefully be done with my period tomorrow or thursday. but it hurts so bad.

I did have unprotected sex saturday with a guy i don't know(i know I shouldve used something) but I don't know if it could be herpes or something like that. Doesn't it take a bit to take effect if you get an STD/STI?

i accidentally left my birth control pills in the pocket of my jeans while i washed them. i remembered before i put them in the dryer.

will they still be effective? they were well packaged and they look normal--they definitely didn't get wet or anything. i don't have a backup pack and my insurance only covers one pack a month so i'd be kind of screwed otherwise.

thanks for the help.

ok this might sound really weird but here it goes

i'm a huge fan of baths, just soaking in water soothes my muscles and gets my thoughts away from bad days, so i was wondering if any other bath lovers had the problem of not having control of your pee for like half an hour after the bath...i don't know why but it's getting annoying recently and i just normally end up sitting on a towel but i was curious as to if something could be wrong?

i'm not on any kind of new medicine or anything, and it's happened since i can remember...any ideas?

so here's my problem:
my period has always been irregular, but faithful.
i was on birth control for about a year. during that year i got my period very regularly around the same time each month.
i stopped taking the pill in the beginning of september.
since then, i have had only one or two periods.
i got an ultrasound this summer to look for a polysistic ovary because my doctor noticed some of the symptoms. it came out negative for anything abnormal. during that time my period was still regular and i was sitll on the pill.
but now that i'm not getting my period but still showing other symptoms of polysistic ovary (excessive hair growth, acne, skin tags, depression, mood swings, weight gain). the depression and mood swings could be attributed to my bipolar and the weight gain has been caused by hypothyroidism.
i'm just wondering if any of you have had similar problems? would you suggest i get this checked out by a doctor?
not having my period for 5-6 months has been sketching me the hell out. and btw there is no possiblity that i'm pregnant so i duno whats up...
thanks!

Spotting

Feb. 7th, 2006 10:58 pm
[identity profile] loanwords.livejournal.com
Tonight, I found that I was bleeding when I visited the restroom between classes. I am currently on the second active week of my pill (Ovcon-35). I haven't ever really spotted since i've been on this particular pill. I've been on it for over a year now. I'm a little freaked out because the last time I started spotting, I was on Mircette and it went on for five weeks. Finally, Planned Parenthood changed my pill to what I'm on now. I also took iron supplements during the time I bled because I am slightly anemic, and the nurse thought that maybe I had bled so much, I just kept bleeding. They helped a bit, but I haven't taken these supplements in some time.

I have also been dieting for the last two weeks, and exercising and hour a day, six days a week, which is something I didn't do in the past. I had a completely normal period two weeks ago that ended on Jan 28/29. I'm good about taking them at the same time each night, though I was late one night last week and forgot one until the next morning another day last week, but those have been the only two recent slip-ups. But I haven't had (and won't be having) sex at all this cycle.

So... how long should I wait out the bleeding before I place a call to Planned Parenthood. I know this sounds really paranoid, but last year's five-week period was about the worst thing ever and I don't want to do it again.

hey all. another discharge question for you.

so, the past few days or so ive been noticing an increase in the amount of discharge on my panties. im ruling out std right now, since i am in a completely monogamous relationship and recently had a pap smear with an std test. im also ruling out yeast infection because i dont itch and the discharge doesnt look or smell weird at all.

so, ive narrowed it down to two possible things. either its the patch finally kicking in with side effects - "increased amount of cervical discharge to make it harder to sperm to reach the egg." ive been on it since october-ish.
OR, i need to lay off the soap. i know youre not supposed to use soap on your vulva, but i use a mild soap and ive never had a problem before. im not doing anything different. and its not like i go crazy with it or even use it there everyday. just a little once in a while.

well, these are my ideas, at least. im open to other ideas.

oh, and if it helps... i dont always wear undies, and never to bed. and im not trying to solve the problem by sticking panty liners on and thus creating more issues. im doing everything right! i thought i was the poster child for good vaginal health! i dont understand why this is happening!

I'm a girl and I am terrified that there's something wrong with me down there. I'm usually called paranoid about stuff, and tend to overreact, and I hope that's the situation.

I have a couple issues I need to address. I'm desperate and fairly confident that everyone here will say they don't know what's wrong with me. For background info, I've only had sex with one person, and I was his first everything sexually. So chances any of this crap below being an STD are hopefully ruled out.

1. I have this weird spongy stuff at the front of my vagina. Like right when you go in the actual hole. It's right there and I don't know if anyone else has it. Is that normal? It feels kinda blobish. It's not too much like the rest of the texture on the inside. I get paranoid that there's something wrong wth me whenever anyone fingers me or anything. I've asked in drunken confusion, 2 people in fact, they both say nothing seems weird. I'm still weirded out... opinions???

2. I think I have a hole in my clit. It looks like an opening, aka why I was confused when I realized the urethra is what you pee out of. Just... what?

3. I think I have some type of infection... my pee smells kinda funny recently. And it's sort of cloudy. Also I have what I was confident is a yeast infection, I was so itchy down there and then I got some creamy stuff, Clotrimazole, and a vinegar water douche and used it and it stopped. But then I had sex and I tend to get sorta irritated the day after. The itch came back. This itch applied to the spongy shit I was talking about before. I used the cream and it stopped again.

This itch though, it was horrible, I was in such discomfort it was invading my every thought. So, what's the deal? Do I have a UTI and a yeast infection? And a deformed vagina and clit?

I'm practically on the verge of tears. I hate to feel disfigured or irregular in a bad way. Please help me and tell me anything you know about this. Thank you in advance to anyone who bothered to read all that, or give me info/advice.

period

I am a 20 year old female, and I've had a fairly regular period for several years (about 5 days-1week period every 3 weeks or so). Not sexually active, got my V-card and STDs is a physical impossibility, not on contraception, not taking any hormones or drugs (including OTC meds), haven't had any procedures done, and I feel healthy otherwise.

Mid-January, I got my period for a week. A week after my period was over, I got it again for another week. Less than a week after that, I've got it again. So basically, I've gotten my period 3 times in the last 5 weeks or so, which has never happened before. Flow is more regular than normal as well (you know...usually there are heavy & light days, but these last 3 times it's been medium-light the whole week). I'm mildly concerned & wondering if any of you know what I've got. Thanks.
