Hi I have a question for you lovely ladies. I looked through the archive and couldnt find anything that really answered my question fully.
Is it possible to have a "wet dream"? As in is it possible to have an actaul orgasm while you are sleeping?
I thought I may have had one a week ago but I started to doubt it because I have never had an orgasm before and wasnt sure what the sensation was. After the incident I woke right up and had a sudden dull pain in my abdomen. Kind of like a mild cramp.
Any idea?
Thank you!

periods.

i am supposed to be starting my period withing the next like, two days or so... usually the first day of my period is HELL for me, and this year its supposed to fall on new years eve... i'm supposed to go into the city for like 7 hours, expecting that due to crowds etc, i will not be able to find a bathroom to use wirhout waiting 2 hours in line. is there any way that i can delay my period like, 3 or 4 days?

also, sometimes when i believe i've started my period or am going to that day, i use a tampon, and a lot of the time the case is that i didn't actually start. could this be very bad for me? (TSS, etc?)

Help! I swear the trackyourperiod link linked to cyclespages.com or something similar, not mymonthlycycles.com. I prefer the cyclespages one because its simpler and I dont have time for more detailed tracking, does anyone have the link to it?

Also, does anyone else here find they wake up in a sweat a few days before their period? I swear my body temp goes through the roof for a few nights before.

Thanks,
R

I'm home for winter break from college and I was watching TV the other day and I noticed commercials for the Nuvaring. I'd first heard about it here months and months ago, but I was suprised to suddenly see commercials for it. The channels that I saw the commercials on - TBS, maybe ABC Family, and some others just seemed to magically appear since I always watch those channels and had previously seen nothing in regards to commercials. Did anyone else just realize the commercials or has anyone seen them before this?

Okay, first actual gyno visit yesterday, three days before my health insurance expires. Better late than never, right?

Surprises on both ends )

Hey all you fabulous cunt lovin' people,

I've recently started taking Zoloft again for minor depression and anxiety, and it works marvelously for me. However, it always seems to just about completely sack my libido, at least for the first month or two that I take it. I don't want to switch medications, since Zoloft works so well for me. How can I stimulate my libido in the mean time? Would ginseng or some other herbal thing work? Suggestions?

I keep getting sore (but always in a different place) after sex and then can't have sex for a few days so today my partner suggested I use some of his first aid cream o_o to which I definitely said, 'What?! NO!' And he says, 'Why? I used it on my cock and it helped' (he had a zipper encounter recently).

Then I was thinking, that if it's gentle enough to treat open wounds, why *wouldn't* it be gentle enough for a vagina?

Ingrediants: beeswax, benzyl alcohol, cetyl alcohol, cetylpyridinium, glyceryl, stearate, hydroxypropyl, methylcellulose, isopropyl, palmitate, stearyl alcohol, palmitamidopropyl trimonium chloride, trisodium phosphate, water.

Thoughts?

(--although I'm not intending to use it, especially as it says not for eyes and for external use only.

I did a search and didn't find this anywhere so here goes:

I have never had an orgasm while having sex doggy style. I want to because its my husband's favorite position but the clit gets no stimulation whatsoever and I'm too fat to reach around. (Plus I prop up on pillows so they are in the way.)

Anyone have any suggestions on how I can get off doggy style?

Also my husband really wants to try anal sex. I am terrified of this idea. His penis is very thick and even getting it into my vagina is a difficult task at times. So I am terrified of the thought of it going into my anus. I don't want to disappoint him but I also don't want to hurt myself. Can it cause hemmorhoids? Any suggestions on that?

Thanks!

Well, thanks to the Ring, I got a bacterial infection right after I put it in. Nice. So I finally got to the gyno, but unfortunately mine was out of town, so I got a different nurse practitioner. This one wasn't as friendly as the one I had last time, and this was only my second time being to a gynaecologist. Well, it wasn't exactly comfortable; she didn't ask me ANY questions before she told me to undress and speculumed me. Now I think I look pretty young (I am 16, but I look like I'm about 14), but she didn't even ask me if I had had an exam before -- I hadn't, and this was freaking me out! I knew what was going on, but she wasn't particularly gentle, and after I got out of there, I felt kind of nauseated and upset. She came back and said yes, I have a bacterial infection, and gave me a prescription for Flagyl, which as you know is an antibiotic.

Antibiotics are awful on my family; we have huge yeast problems, so I know that after this nasty beast is gone, I'm going to get the yeast infections from hell. I've read how to treat yeast infections in here, and I plan to take a bunch of acidophilus while I'm on treatment. My question is, however -- how long after my antibiotic treatment should I take the acidophilus, and how much should I take daily? Should I try to put any capsules up my vagina, or could this possibly irritate the infection? I know that acidophilus is a probiotic, but I'm still not sure if this will help my BV or aggravate it, since the antibiotic I'm taking at the same time is taking away all the bacteria. I'm kind of confused.

Also, she told me to use back-up protection. She didn't say how long because she kinda had to run out there and whisper it to me in front of my mother. So how long should I use back-up (condoms, most likely)? I figured that the antibiotics affected my birth control, but I am not sure how long these antibiotics are in my system even after my treatment has stopped.

Any comments would be appreciated... I am just beat after that appointment and I definitely couldn't ask her those questions after she freaked me out. Hopefully it will be easier next time.

I am going cray with itching and I don't think its a yeast infection....when I was on Ortho-Tri,I used to get yeast infections right before my period just about every month; i tried Diflucan once and it didn't work, and since they went away with my period, I didn't do anything because I hate taking medication and didn't like the idea of inserting anything (i can't wear tampons...they freak me out for some reason). I also was super dry on Ortho, so when I went back on birth control, I tried something else because the yeast infections were really annoying and so was dryness. But I'm now noticing similar symptoms on Yasmin (i've been on it 6 months), right before my period I get a really itchy, and sometimes notice tiny white clumps in discharge, if there is any discharge; otherwise, there is no discharge and never a funny smell. It just itches, mostly on the outside but a little at the opening of my vagina. It started right before my period, but doesn't seem to be getting better. I'm also on the dry side and it being winter, I was thinking it might just be dryness (which i've noticed getting worse in the past month or two)--my skin usually gets really dry and itchy in the winter, so i have to slather on lotion, sometimes a couple times a day, especially on my hands. Anyway, I'm going crazy and am feeling a little raw and unfomfortable. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Has anyone had Metrogel and various oral antibiotics NOT been able to cure BV? Is there something i should be telling my NP i should take? Metrogel didn't work and gave me a yeast infection. I think it's also become immune to oral antibiotics (penicillin, zithromax, amoxicillin) because i was on them so long for other reasons. Thanks.

I'm looking for the best suggestions you have on how to keep thongs clean! This is embarrassing for me to post, but it just seems to me that thongs aren't great all-day wear. No matter how much I wipe after a BM (thereby irritating the region :( ) it seems like I still have trouble and wind up doing some hand laundry in the sink... suggestions? Thoughts?

arrgh.
ok so. What can I use/do to stop getting ingrown hairs/remove ones I currently have?
I finally dug out an ingrown hair that was burried under the surface of my skin that had been there for 4 months (atleast) and causing me much grief (it was so gross). Now I'm worried I'll get another one in that spot because of the scab. Not to mention I think I'm getting more, in other places, as we speak.
I don't usually do much in the ways of hair removal, because I'm lazy like you wouldn't believe, but I do occasionally wax the bikini area, and my legs. A few days ago I shaved, because I had a hot date, and no time to wax. You know how it is. Everything is growing in now, and causing itching and ingrown-ness all over, and I'm stressing out.
HELP.

I just started taking Yasmin and I'm also taking another pill for my acne. I don't know the name of it but it's known as E. Base. My skin has been breaking and is very rouch and dry. I also use Retin-A at night.

Could taking both of these medications be causing this?
Should I stop taking the acne med?

so im about to leave to live abroad in holland for the next year. i will also be backpacking throughout europe for a few months. my questions are 1) do they sell the divacup in europe?
and 2) have any one of you lovely ladies backpacked with a divacup? if so, what did you think of it? any issues washing it while in public? was it better to use than tampons or more annoying? i will be backpacking all over with a lot of weight on my back and not able to stop as often as i wish i could...i've never actually tried using a divacup so i'm still debating it. I just tried insteads for the first time and since those are easy enough, i think a divacup is the next step. what do you girls think? thanks a bunch in advance!

not exactly a vagina-related question ... but I figured this community would know what to do. X_X

I got back together with my ex tonight... and in the process of making out, I somehow ended up with the two largest hickeys the world has ever seen. they're ugly, ya'll.

My question is how to make them smaller, or not last very long, or something... they're pretty bad and I want them gone.

HELPPPPPPPPP

ok so i was inspected my vag, as i do every once and awhile just to make sure theres nothing out of the ordinary when BAM! i feel something a little painful. like a tiny tiny tiny almost skin tag type thing that sort of hurts on the inside of my inner labia.

first instinct is to freak out and think 'omg i have herpes'. so i look up 'herpes' online, and worry myself sick, but don't get any real answers. it's not a blister. there's nothing in it. it's just one little bump thats sort of painful. i've never really noticed it, but upon further inspection, i noticed lots of little bumps arounds the opening of my vagina. not painful, or full of anything. just tiny tiny tiny little skin colored bumps. NORMAL? I DONT KNOW!

so of course i'm going to the doctor! problem is, my doctor moved and i have to find another one. but until then, does anyone else experience little irritated skin tags or little bumps near your vagina or things of that nature down there? it's honestly scaring me to death.

thanks.

Okay, here's something I've been wondering for a long time, but never thought to ask. But first, the backstory:

I've been on birth control for 4 years. I take it everyday, at the same time, and skip the inactive pills, so I get around 3 or less periods a year. I can count on one hand the number of times I've missed a pill.

When I first began the pill, I had a lot of spotting, or breakthrough bleeding, but over the years, it's dramatically lessened, and rarely happens. Anyway, in the last or week or so, I've been having strong cramps and a lot of spotting, so I assumed I was about to have a period. The spotting, though, (pardon the graphic details) is always brown blood and clotting, so I'm assuming it's just uterine lining. It starts and stops, and starts and stops. It's a real pain, because I won't use tampons, and I don't like having to deal with the inconvenience of wearing a pad/pantyliner, thinking I am going to bleed, when I end up not even bleeding at all. But such is what one has to deal with when you're on the pill, I guess.

I've also been a strict (I eat dairy and eggs, but no animals of any kind) vegetarian for 5 years, and when I first became one, I ate a lot more soy-rich products than I do now. I noticed then, that whenever I ate soy foods or something rich in protein (beans/legumes, etc.) I would suddenly begin to bleed or spot temporarily, and it would then stop. I just noticed this earlier this evening after I ate Mexican food. This is all leading to my question, which is, do certain foods act as period/blood-release "triggers?" My theory is that soy, which contains phytoestrogens, causes the release of more estrogen in the body, which in turn can cause menstrual bleeding.

Am I right?
