Sorry for the 2 posts in one day, I just don't know where to go with this and this community is a lot nicer than some of the other womens health/body ones I've posted in before.

I posted yesterday about a yeast infection I have. Since it's my first one, I'm not sure what's "normal" and what's not. Last night after I used the applicator [Monistat box] and pulled it out, I noticed toward the top that there was a pinkish discharge. Not a lot, but it was about the color of the discharge I get right before I have my period. I know I'm young and my cycle can change, etc etc, but for the past year or so my period has been, without fail, On either the last day of the month [30 or 31] or the 1st.

Today I woke up, about an hour ago, and the first thing I did was get in the shower to get the remaining cream and stuff that leaked off because it's uncomfortable. Is it normal for a lot of it to come out? I figured it would be absorbed but..it wasn't. My friend who had the yeast infection told me all of her medication cream stuff stayed put.

Right now I'm experiencing cramps in my lower abdomen, like between belly-button and "down there". I read on webmd that this could be a sign of Pelvic Inflammatory Disease. Did anyone else experience cramping like this but had an otherwise normal yeast infection and OTC treatment?

I'm just looking for some reassurance now because I can't get to the doctor right away. Monday is probably the soonest. I'm scared :[

ALSO: I got my dad to agree to take me to the doctor tomorrow. Should I NOT do the last treatment of Monistat today? I'm just wondering because the next day it's messy and it might make it harder for them to really see whats going on in there if I have cream and such in there?

Hi! I just joined this community today via a reccomendation for a friend. Finally, a community inhabited by postive people eager to talk about their vaginas! ^+^ My name is Dana, and I'm 21.

I've been having sex with my steady boyfriend of a year and 7 months and am part of the 'I can't have a vaginal orgasm' club. Recently, I've been experiencing something really upsetting. I've never felt this before and I didn't know where else to ask for opinions on it. Lately, sex has been really unpleasant for me. I physically hate every second of it. I feel pain when my boyfriend goes too deep (he's only average-sized...not a Penis Monster) and I just want it to end. Close my legs. End of story. I feel dirty and gross during and after sex.

I've never felt this before, and am hoping to attribute it to the fact that I am getting over the after effects of going off birth control. I messed up a package a month and a half ago and just stopped taking it. I haven't had unprotected sex since, but I haven't experienced a period either. I had a Doc do a preggers test yesterday and (whew) I'm good to go. I'm stressed and I have an anxiety disorder and am clinically depressed. I love my boyfriend and I love sex, so I really don't want to feel like this. Does anybody have any clue as to what this could be? Thanks.

hello everyone.

i've been on the pill for about 6-7 months now and everything is good (mostly went on it for my period, but the protection helps too)

what i was wondering was when i do decide to go off it (hopefully i won't be on it for more then a few years) i am very worried about what will happen in regards to my period flow, cramps as well as constant headaches etc.

my question is to those ladies who were on birth control pills for a few years and decided to go off it for whatever reason - what were your side effects?

i know it differs from person to person and i won't know until i go off it .. i just like to hear others stories.

thanks:)

I've checked the archives, but I'd still like more information if it's out there.

Background: I am not on hormonal contraception. I have charted my cycle and monitored my cervical fluid for 4 years. I ovulated on November 11, which means, with my typical luteal phase, my period should start on November 25 or 26.

Right Now: I can feel my period wanting to start. Cramps from hell, bloating, back pain, and small splooches of blood on the toilet paper when I wipe, but nothing on my panties. (I'm sure the blood is menstrual and coming from my vagina.) I feel like my body would be so much more comfortable if I could just start bleeding.

When I feel like this, I generally use Vitamin C to induce my period, and it often works in two or three days, but I'm wondering if people have remedies that work better for them. (I'd prefer to remedy the situation as quickly as possible because this is like the overlap between PMS and the first days of my period... with some yuck-ish symptoms of each.)

What I've Tried in the Past (that didn't work):
parsley tea
dong quai
raspberry leaf tea (though I've heard mixed advice on this being both to relieve pain and to induce bleeding)
chaste berry tea (Is that right? Although I have no health food stores where I currently live, so I doubt I could get it on a day's notice)

Any ideas as to what I could take instead? (Especially because I'm beginning to doubt the wisdom of taking precription strength ibuprofen for a week straight.) Or ideas as to where I could post for such advice?

Thanks!

I was just wondering about whether you ladies prefer male or female ob-gyns and what reasoning is behind it? I have a male ob and absolutely love him. He is wonderful doctor, understanding, patient, the whole deal. My best friend and my sister in law are both adament against having male doctors but neither of them really has much of a reason why...just wondering...

So, there's this highly eccentric guy who lives near me whose house I always pass on my way to work. He has big signs up in his front yard that he changes every few days, mostly with anti-abortion themes. One of them says something along the lines of "Abortion Causes Breast Cancer." I don't tend to believe anything he advertises, but I wonder if this one is based on anything factual? I figured this might be a good place to ask. Thanks!

I just found this community today, and I must say it is wonderful to finally get help with any questions that I have about my vagina. First off, let me say that I am 19 years old, and I have never been to a Gyno. I know that it's probably really bad, but for some reason, my mom has never taken me to get one, despite the fact I keep telling her I should have had one by now. Anyway, for the past couple of years (about four or five), I've noticed that sometimes when I masturbate, there is a slightly thicker substance coming out of my vagina, and I know that it's not normal. Also, my vagina gets really itchy at times and it makes it uncomfortable to sit and stand. Is it possible that I have a yeast infection? If I do, what are the things that I can do to make it go away?

Ok.

On the right hand side(my right) right below all the bits and peices of the cooter, in the "fold" right before the swell of the "hill" that goes towards the butthole(I know I know, I'm not explaining this right, I know the proper terminology SOMEWHERE but I can't seem to formulate words and I'm tired and stressed sorry!)

anyways there are 4 little bumps. They don't hurt. they feel like... hard ingrown hairs. When I attempted to look at them in a little mirror, they looked like they ahd a whitish head, but REALLY pale white, kinda like it was stretched skin, not pus or something. In fact, they looked like those pumps you get around your nipples, but bigger. I'd say they're around the same size as the hollow in
--->a<--- that letter. I don't know what they could be; I've looked it up, but I don't think they're genital warts because they're not "cauliflower" looking. They're not red, or inflamed. They're just something thats well, not supposed to be there. I told my doctor and she said that if they were still there in 2 weeks, to go and see her. But... thats a week and a half away and I tend to obsess a little especially because I'm switching my medication so right now, I'm not on any medication(for obsessive compulsive) so YEAH. Sorry. Disjointed. I'm tired. And stressed.

Anyways. My aunt says they might just be swollen up sweat glands, or pus? Anyone else have any ideas?

Help?

My friend has graciously allowed me to post this story on her behalf, on the condition of her anonymity. ;-)

My friend was at the doctor's getting a pelvic ultrasound. She had to drink about 30oz of water before the test, and any of us who've ever had the incomparable experience of a pelvic ultrasound know how badly you have to PEE when your bladder's full of water and the docter's pressing the ultrasound wand right up against your lower abdomen, right?

Well, my friend's g-spot is right on the other side of her bladder, and she's been known to have spontaneous orgasms just from having to pee really badly before. And there she was, with the wand up against her lower abdomen, having to pee so badly it hurt, freaking out that she was going to have a spontaneous orgasm with an ultrasound image of her uterus up on a computer screen. Normally, she says, she can hide this phenomenon when it occurs...but that would've made it a little difficult.

She says she thought she was going to die. Or pee herself. Or orgasm. Or all three.

Ah, fun with ultrasounds.

A cautionary tale...

For a while I was not getting my period at all, or very sporadically. It was never, ever predictable, from when it would show up to how long it would last. Then it stopped coming entirely; so I went to the gyno (I'm fifteen, was fourteen at the time, and it was so embarassing). I found out I have Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome, which basically means I have multiple cysts on my ovaries that affect my hormones and throw off my period. I'm on OTC Lo now to regulate it, but I found out recently I might have insulin deficiency because of it; I just recently got blood work done to check - the results aren't back yet.

But the point of this is, if your period comes up MIA (even when you're as young as me, when it could be normal for it to be weird), please get it checked out! It could be something serious.

Hoping everyone's happy and healthy this Thanksgiving (for those who celebrate ^^),
Kaye
