I was looking through back entries and this entry made me wonder...Does anyone experience any odd or seemingly uncommon PMS symptoms?

My sense of smell gets all screwed up. I don't usually have that great of a sense of smell, but the week before my period it seems to get much stronger, and certain smells become overpowering. I usually like or at least don't mind the smell of coffee, but when I'm PMSing I find myself walking the long way round the student union to avoid walking past Starbucks.

clean sex?

okay this question will probably sound kinda stupid, but it's just one of those random things i've always wondered lol, and i know we all have those..

anyways i was just wondering (i'm a virgin btw) like.. before you have sex, does anyone do anything special? okay bc basically what i'm thinking is in movies/tv (and i KNOW everything isn't like in tv and movies :| lol) everyone just gets caught up in the heat of the moment, throws off their clothes, and goes into spontaneous lustful sex!! that sounds soo amazing to me.. these kind of cliches are best found in the back pages of COSMO where you can read the sexiest parts of new novels!

where i get stuck is like.. i don't know i guess for me personally, i always feel more comfortable wearing a panty liner (like i don't even like wearing thongs/going commando for this reason), and i think (aside from the fact of my panty liner preventing me from throwing my underwear off) i'd just feel unclean/fresh going into it right away... see where i'm going? what do you guys do, if anything?

oh one more question now that i think of it.. is it okay, on those heavier discharge days, to wear a slim-fitting tampon? i've done it before, and it makes me much more comfortable and allows me to wear any type of underwear i choose, but i was just wondering if it seemed okay to do, health-wise, etc.

TIA! i know you get this all the time, but it's sooooo great to have a place to ask all these random, occasionally embarassing questions :)

Let me preface this by saying that I, by no means, have any real clout in this community. I just am an avid reader.

and lately, I've read a lot of negative comments. people come to this community opening themselves up completely, sharing intimate details about their bodies and psyche, and the least we can do is sincerely respond with our most helpful knowledge and experiences.

criticizing our fellow information seekers really isn't helpful. I mean, honestly, it all comes down to treating people how you would like to be treated. AND not saying anything if you don't have anything nice (or helpful or useful-- whatever) to say.

I'm sure we would all like it if we didn't have to be competitive or feel guarded in asking our questions. I recognize that there are limits (as in, we have fantastic sister communities and an amazing resource in the website), but there are also unique experiences that are not being met with the usual vagpag attention.

this is not meant to be shaming. just a general psa to request a second thought before you reply to a post.

thanks

I'm not pregnant! I woke up with my period a few minutes ago.

I have never been so happy from bleeding out of my crotch.

Thank you to everyone, again. : )

What causes a period to come early?
Note: I am on no medication and it came a full nine days early.

i'm on birth control and my boyfriend and i are in a monogamous relationship. i just moved to his city so understandably we are having a lot of sex.

but it's a little gross for me when even after rolling out of bed, going to the bathroom, wiping, etc.. all the next day his manjuices are dribbling out of me.

do you have any suggestions for how to get all the come out?

so far i've had two cups of parsley tea, to try and induce my period.
i'm already a little late in getting it [about 6 days], but i think it's the combination of stress, ecp, lifestyle changes and so forth preventing it from coming as planned, although i am experiencing pms symptoms..

i was just wondering if anyone experienced any symptoms from drinking the parsley tea.
earlier my stomach was hurting a tad, so could this be the tea working?

i dont know if this is just a coincidence or not, but, i was having oral sex with my partner last week, and now we have both come down with strep throat. my vagina has been feeling awkward, (red, itchy, irritated) and i was wondering if its possible that having strep throat while going down on someone can cause some type of infection or irritation like this?
thanks.

I posted on here not too long ago about my vaginal "problem" After sex, I smelled horrible, very fishy and gross...very embarassing. So I looked it up online and came to the conclusion that I have BV-bacterial vaginosis.
I called my doctor and told her, and she prescribed me an antibiotic without even going to see her....I'm pretty good at diagnosing myself and she knows this.
So I started taking the meds and it's totally clearing up...YAH for my vagina.
Anyways, I just want to say, that this antibiotic sucks! I'm taking Flagyl. I almost threw up one day from it, and you need to eat so much after taking it or you feel dizzy and nauseous (that may just be me) But the taste of the pill on your tongue, ever for a split second makes me ill. I have to shove food in my mouth immediately so I don't taste it.
I am just overwhelmed at how horrible it taste....if you hadn't noticed! But the pill works wonders otherwise. I wonder if a cream would have done the same?
Well, thanks to anyone that responded!

I have been on Ortho Lo for about 5 months now, and my period has always come about 1 or 2 days before the start of my placebo week. This month it was 3 days early.

If anyone knows what this could possibly mean, that would help me immensely. I just want to make sure that it doesn't mean that the pill is being ineffective for me somehow.

Thanks

a couple days ago my SO fingered me and performed oral sex on me. it was my first time for both. i just ovulated, so i have my usual snotty discharge. the odd thing is, there's a heck of a lot more of it than there usually is. can i attribute this to my activities with him or could it just be my body being weird?

p.s. a fun side note: while masturbating in my shower a couple weeks ago i ejaculated! it was so cool! i felt a bit like i had to pee and also felt this urge to push down, and right as i did i orgasmed and ejaculated. *bounce* i feel all special now :D

I've consulted my doctor AND a pharmacist, but neither have even heard of an interaction. the interaction being Yasmin and pain relievers (Aleve and Tylenol). this bothers me because I currently take up to 3 a day of Aleve and potentionally could need to do that for an extensive period of time. it says right in the paperwork that both Yasmin and, at least, Aleve can raise potassium levels. taken together for a long period of time can require blood tests. I think their not knowing would bother me less if they knew and just don't think there will be an issue.

though, it does bother me. so those who take Yasmin, do you take a pain reliever like Aleve daily? did you require a blood test? should I check with another pharmacy / doctor?

Is this OK?

Since December of last year, my body has been on a really long cycle. My periods have been a week shy of three months apart (and I am not on any birth control or any meds at all for that matter). The one I got in March had to be started with pills from the doctor, but the one in June came on it's own. Now it's September and if this is a pattern my body has fallen into naturally I should be about due for one.

I just want to know if this is OK. Every month I don't have a period, I take a pregnancy test just to be safe (and I've not been pregnant - the husband and I use condoms). Does anyone else have a cycle this long? Is it safe?

Hi girls,

I've just moved to San Jose and would like to find a shop where I can rent some female-friendly porn. Does anybody know of someplace near San Jose (I'd prefer not to drive to San Fran just to rent some movies) that is preferably woman-owned/run and rents films?

Thanks!

so i went to the doctor today, she didn't know what was up down there. she did some tests and i guess i play the waiting game to see what the outcome will be.

i don't really know what i'm asking, i have to wait to hear from my dr.

i noticed a bump, it's very very small.. but when i rub it - it is hardly noticeable. it's right below the hole of my vagina (so still inside on the moist part)

i guess:

1)can warts become hardly visible by rubbing?
2)can they disappear for no reason in less than a month?

the dr said she sees warts all the time and they have a VERY obvious look to them. true/false?

any help would be so much help.

Inspired by a comment I got, I have just created The Juliet Society for the disscussion of relationships between adolescent girls and older men. Unlike a lot of Age Gap relationships, Romeo and Juliet have legal complications and have to deal more directly with their families.

All welcome, especially some Romeos wanting to share what the other side of the story.

Ive been on Dianette for about 2 and a half years, and for the past three months my periods have been getting heavier and more painful.

Ive also been spotting inbetween periods (during the last three months). And last week I had a sharp pain which felt to be on the right side of my vagina, after both myself and my boyfriend having a look and not finding anything out of the usual- the pain went yesterday walking home from work.

Im not too sure whether I should be worried about any of this, but could the spotting, painful/heavy periods and the unexplained pain be connected in anyway?

any ideas?

(sorry if this post doesnt make too much sense, ive eaten far too many gummy worms tonight!)
