Okay, here's my uncertainity of the day:

I have a gyn appt for an annual this morning at 11. As I understand it, having done this before, when you get your period, you don't go see the gyn; you reschedule. Thing is, I'm not sure if I'm having my period or if a guy uh, "broke" me.

Saturday night, I had sex with a guy who is both bigger and more *ahem* vigorous than I've had in a long time. During sex, I started bleeding, not much but it was fresh. Later when we tried again, I got quite sore so we stopped. I assumed it was from the sex, as my period is not due until the middle of next week.

I have been bleeding since, not much, just a regular drip of bright red, fresh blood, which conveniently stops overnight and starts again in the morning. :P This is not a normal blood flow for me during my period. For one thing, it's never bright red blood.

Possible explanation, a week ago Saturday, I took Plan B. I did see some mention of blood in the information, would it bring on my period a week early and change how it normally, uh, comes out?

To complicate things, I am both still a bit sore inside and a bit crampy.

It's also rather weird that I would start a period during sex. For me, sex usually delays my period.

So, should I think its a period and cancel today's appt or go and see if I got oddly wounded during sex?

I just have a quick and probably stupid question. I'm wondering when during the month does ovulation occur? As in 15 days after period, 2 days after period? I had my period the 14th through the 19th. Would I be ovulating yet? Thanks for your help! And sorry for my stupidity.

EDITED: Another question. Does birth control make a difference as to when you ovulate? Or do you just not ovulate all together when on birth control?

Thanks again!

I know there is a whole new section abt YI's but i looked for an answer to my specific problem and couldnt find one.

I just finished my YI treatment about a week ago. I had sex last weekend and it stillllll hurt which was very disappointing. Ive been thinking maybe im still in the midst of healing everything up down there. I was wondering if anyone else has had a smiliar experience? Thanks

note-all my YI symptoms are gone except for the painful sex

I'm 20 years old. I have a large lump in my right breast that is not a cyst. I had a mammorgram and an ultrasound done last week and am to schedule an ultrasound-guided core biopsy today. Frankly, I'm scared to death to have someone cutting into my breast, and even more so because it is done under local instead of general anesthesia. Has anyone had this procedure, and if so, could you tell me what it was like?

The other problem I am facing is that I am a diagnosed belonephobic...that is, a needlephobic. The reaction that I present is very physical and not at all attached to reason or intellect. It is purely instinctual and not the sort of thing that I can control by "going to my happy place". Do any of you have true phobias, and if so, how do you deal with facing them?

I've been on the NuvaRing for about 2.5 months now. I haven't really had any side effects besides a little bit more discharge than usual. But that's supposed to be normal. However, my discharges and pussy juices must be extra acidic now or something. Because I've started to notice holes in the crotches of all of my panties. At least the panties made out of more synthetic fibers. I don't know if anyone else has experienced this or not. And if so, what can I do about it, besides wearing panty liners?

Recently I was on a low-dose of sulfur medication for a UTI. After taking it, I developed a mild allergic reaction, tender labial lips, mild skin irritation, etc. The UTI is gone, by the skin is irritated.

Has anyone else dealt with sulfur allergies? Have you found anything that's sold OTC that would speed up the "healing" process and get my girly bits back to normal more quickly then just letting nature take its course? It's so mild that I'm reluctant to go to my Gyno about it. [The main reason for this being that it's impossible to get an appointment without a 2-3 week wait, so there's probably not even a point.]

hellllo everyone.
okay... el situation: i had sex with a new boy.... today is the 22nd, we had sex on the evenings of the 11th, 12th, and 16th. he was a bit more rough than most guys i've been with and, additionally, i hadn't had sex... maybe even since january??? could have been longer.... wow, could have been even december... SO. between the 12th and the 16th, i didn't notice too much. a very light burning kind of all the time, but very very light. then after the 16th when we had sex again, i took a bath. i was washing myself & some soap got on there and it burned REALLY bad. i don't have any discharge, it still burns very lightly, nothing extra when i pee or anything like that.... do you think he teared me somewhere?? i was thinking maybe near the clitoris maybe because that's where the burn seems to come from? it's almost a sting, rather than a burn, now that i think of it. i really don't know. i was disease-free prior to him, which doesn't rule out having a some sort of STI/STD.. but it doesn't seem like that to me.
any help/thoughts would be appreciated!! :) as you all know, you are the best.

To those who were curious as to how my weekend came about:

I was the one who asked questions about a 3 some with my S.O. and the lead singer of his band....well...here's what happened:

Not only did my S.O. and the lead singer want to hook up with me, but so did everyone else. *shrugs* My S.O. was not appreciative of that, and kept interrupting my other conversations, so, needless to say, a 3 some did NOT happen. I didn't really care either way, but felt out for how my S.O. was feeling, and he got uncomfortable when the lead singer and I walked off to have a conversation.

I still got booty though! *lol* YAY ME!!!!! Just wasn't the 3 some, and honestly, this was A LOT more meaningful to me.

P.S. It wasn't fuckfest 2005 like I was promised, but it was the company that made it all worth while.

Last Monday I was diagnosed with a UTI by a regular doctor; I had a urine sample taken and the doctor said that it was definitely a UTI and there was blood and white blood cells present. He put me on Bactrim, saying to take it once every 12 hours for seven days. On Wedneday I started to have a sharp, almost excruiating pain in what feels to me like my bladder, on the right side. What happens is that I sit down to pee, I pee fine (no pain) and then after, I get that sharp horrible pain. Then it lessens and sometimes a little bit more pee tinkles out but after that there is no pain. So I went to my gyno on Friday, explaining all of this, and he took a urine sample, put me on Cipro for three days (it's the cytitis pack, 100mg, taken twice a day) and told me to call on Monday to tell him how I'm feeling.

I still have that sharp pain directly after I pee... only it's lessened and it doesn't last for as long IN THE AFTERNOONS. Sometimes at night it's still very painful and usually in the mornings it is, too. I've noticed that it's worst when I've held it for a little bit longer than I should have, which I tend to do at night (usually doing stuff) and in the mornings (just slept for 6 hours).

So I called today (Monday) and I explained that I'm still in pain, only it's lessened. And he said that not only should I be feeling ALL better already, but that the urine sample he took showed very little bacteria in it. And that the bacteria in it were NOT resistant to Bactrim and/or Cipro. And he wants me to come in tomorrow to talk and for an exam because he says that that sharp pain must be caused by something else.

I'm upset.

Background information: I'm 19 and on Ortho Evra.

Okay, I went to the doctor and got my birth control pills. I posted a few days ago asking whether or not things would be confidential and everything, and it was all okay. They gave me a pap smear while I was there and asked me to call them next week to get my results, so that my mom wouldn't wonder why they're calling.

So, my doctor said that I should start my pills on the first sunday after my period... Well, I had my period last week. Is it okay if I start today? I asked my mom if I should start them today and she said if I do I should take two instead of one, since today is Monday, but that sounds weird to me.

holidays?

Hey guys,
Every once in a while I have problems with irregular periods and "Prescription for Herbal Healing" by Balch suggested the herb Morinda, also known as Noni juice. It's *supposed* to have a lot of medical benefits (including smoothing out irregular menstrual periods) but I was wondering if anyone has actually used it, for any reason.
Spanks!

My boyfriend and I have sex every day. It's more sex than I've had my entire life, and I think I developed a UTI. I know that my man bathes regularly and washes his genitals regularly as well. The irritation began after we had a night of long, intense fucking, that was so good I came several times. Could the sex have caused the UTI?

i had my first pap smear today. just thought i should post and say that it was totally easy and cool and untraumatic.

in case anyone is interested, here is the process )

she said that she'd put me on the list to have another in two years if everything came back normal, and if the results weren't normal then we'd discuss that. i had two swipes because i also had a test for chlamydia. my doctor suggested it, she said that i can get it done at the same time so i said i may as well, i haven't had one before. for some reason that wasn't covered by medicare tho? odd.

hope that was useful for anyone who might be going for one soon. totally not scary!

This a stupid hypothetical question perhaps, but.....

If you know will be unable to take your birth control pills for a couple days (if you are away and forgot your pill pack maybe) is it possible to "double" up by taking 2 pills a day until you are back home and can go back to your regular one a day. Would having that 1 extra pill cover you for longer than 1 pill would or would it just make you sick?
I know this is obviously not a realistic situation but I am just curious how it would work!

I recently started the ortho evra patch but I'm having a difficult time finding a spot to stick it. At first I tried the front of my belly below my pant line but I found the patch irritated my skin when I sat down because my pants would crease there. I tried my upper buttock but if I sat on a couch or something for too long the patch would get hot and move around. I'd rather not stick it on my arm...

So, Orth Evra users, where do you stick your patch?

So, last night, my boyfriend and I tried sex without a condom for the first time. And I have to say, I have never felt more pleasure in my life! It felt so intense and it made me speechless :) I was just wondering if no condom sex is signifigantly different with others. Feel free to discuss.

BTW: I am on BC...have been for a while(perfect use), both my BF and I are STD free (We were each others first almost everything) and he is uncircumsized.

Thanks in advance!

Can a vaginal yeast infection cause your inner labia to swell up? When I say swell I mean triple in size.

My husband's coming home in two weeks for a visit. I'm so excited.

Anyway. Wednesday, I was out and ended up not coming home til friday. My birth control was at home. So I doubled up on Saturday and Sunday. By the time my husband comes home, I will be in the week that my period is supposed to start, but I plan on starting another pack immediately after this one.

My question is, I know since I missed two days you're supposed to use a backup method for the rest of the month. By the time he gets here, I'll be one or two days into my new pack (since I'm skipping my period).

You think I'll be ok by then to have condomless sex since it's a new pack? Or should I go for a week with condoms???

(i've been on bc for over a year. OTC-lo)

Thanks.

Okay... so this is a really involved problem... and I've been trying to get to the bottom of this for awhile. I've read through all the relevant tags and archives, but I can't seem to piece anything together...

This is lengthy, and involves a YI, dysfunctional uterine bleeding, and anemia )
