So, here it goes.

I'm in a long distance relationship, and I'm flying to see my boy for 2 months on July 8th. We both would rather not have sex at all than use condoms, because, at least in our opinion[s], it dulls the experience so much, and not just physically. Therefore, this mama's gonna need some form of contraceptive. I don't have health insurance, and I'm not working. I called my local health department and was told that because I have no proof of income, I'd have to pay full price for birth control pills. [Ahem..wtf?!] Anyway, I was considering using contraceptive film. Pros? Cons? Other suggestions?
Thanks, loves.

[EDIT] So I checked my local PP's website, and it says a pack of pills is $22, which is pretty pretty doable, but what other random tests [and fees] are involved?

pain

I've been having a really intense pain on my right lower abdomen for the past 3 weeks. It happened a few months ago and I had a vaginal ultrasound done that revealed nothing. In December I had a minerva Iud inserted. For the past three weeks the pain has been coming and going. I thought it was related to my period because it happend a few days before my period, during my period and now for a week after my period. I've made an appointment with my gyno for next Monday the earliest I could get in to see her but I'm starting to get worried. I have a pretty high tolerance for pain but this pain HURTS.

I've done some research online and have freaked myself out honestly. I've looked at ovarian cancer, endo, STDs, and PID. I was tested for all STD's 8 months ago and again 3 months ago when I started seeing my current boyfriend, which all came back clean so that rules out STDs. The only one that make sense is PID since according to wedmd it can happen with insertation of an IUD. So has anybody had PID, how did they treat it, what where your symptoms. I'm trying to keep myself from freaking out since I still have to wait a week to see the doctor.

Thanks.

So, I decided to bear the pain and wax my bikini area. I would have gotten it professionally done, but since I live in smalltown, USA, there aren't any waxers around here..other than your basic facial hair waxers.
It was pretty painful at first, but after a while, you sort of get used to it. However, I have quite a few strays left, and honestly, I wish I could figure out a way to take care of the hair "a little further back," since I can't reach it well enough to wax. Any suggestions? I tend to shave there, but I end up with itchy little booty-whiskers in less than a day.
Also, for those of you who have waxed before, do you have any tips for decreasing the pain, and also for keeping the wax from sticking to your skin? I noticed in some areas, it really seemed to cling, and yanking it loose was just, OUCH. I used baby powder with cornstarch, but someone mentioned to me that it might not work as well as talc..and I know you're not supposed to use talc down there. So, any other ideas? I'd really like to keep this up, since it's just so smooth and nice...way better than the way it feels when I shave.

can anyone recommend good books or other resources on vaginal health, maybe something including natural/alternative treatments? (i always prefer books to internet, but if you know of a particularly good website, tell me about that too) i'm intersted in learning more about ways to take care of the vag. thanks so much!

saturday night was amazing. my boyfriend and i took some chocolate syrup and whip cream into the bedroom and it was fantastic. we showered afterwards and i made sure to try and rinse out my girl as much as possible.

but my question is:

is that not safe? i know that getting stuff up there can give you a yeastie but it's been two days and i haven't experienced anything weird yet. but i didn't know if that was something that was really wrong to be doing or if i'm going to die or the world's going to explode because he ate chocolate syrup and whip cream off of my vag. and if it is bad, are there happy alternatives?

and might i just suggest giving it a try. according to my boyfriend, the sweet stuff made it taste "seriously, so good". lol. and it was funny to see it all over his face. man i love that kid.

thanks girls!

I could've sworn somebody asked a similar question a few days ago, but I can't seem to find it >-<

So basically )

Hi, I looked through the back entries, but I didn't really find what I was looking for.

I have been sexually active for a while now, but I had unprotected sex for the first time last November. Even before I ever became sexually active, the skin on my vagina above my clit (sorry I don't know the words for this) was almost (now this is a gross comparison) like chicken skin, a little bumpy, when stretched out.

A couple weeks ago, on my inner thigh near the vaginal opening, I noticed a bump. However, it feels and looks just like a skin tag to me. Skin tags run in my family, and I have a lot of them. I've had them in my armpit, my nose, and I recently had one removed from my breast. They are a huge annoyance, but nothing new. So when I saw this on my inner though, I wasn't really that concerned. However today I noticed something similar on the skin between the vaginal opening and the anus.

I'm really worried now that these are really warts or something because from everything I read..warts can look like anything practically. I can't really tell the difference on this one I found today, whether it is a skin tag, stretched vagina skin, or a wart.

I'm very scared to go the doctor about this because I recently had a very humilating confidentiality problem with the doctor (they called my house and left a message on the phone about how I only need to take a pill to prevent a UTI when I know i'm having sex, and my parents heard it of course.), and if I really did have warts or something my parents would probably kick me out.

Please be nice this is hard to bring up.

I just found out i have a yeast infection (my first one). Last night was the first night of the 7day treatment thing, so funny....the cream kept sliding out, when they say do it before bedtime they mean it! :P And today i got my period. I'm 16, i have all the symptoms that "may indicate serious illness" mostly back pain and lower abdomen pain and smelly discharge. But those can be from my period right? Has anyone dealt with being on their period and a yeast infection before? i hope it does't "mean anything" but i just wanted to check to make sure, thanks girls~!!

pubic hair

Sometimes my pubic hair feels very dry, and wiry. It's usually when I get fed up during my period and use my razor to trim it down a little(I have really curly hair). Is there anything I can do to make it more managable? I don't think using regular conditioner for my hair is helping much.

I was browsing through Ebay's health and beauty section and they have some pretty good deals. You can buy handmade reusable pads three for $10 (I hear Luna pads are $10 each). I also found breast enhancing gum, an oddity that could only come from Japan.

Eek

I often have problems with ingrown hairs/cysts/pimples and whatnot in questionable places, but recently, I've discovered something I believe to be either a zit or a cyst on the labia next to my clit, and another kind of ... knot on the labia right next to my clit on the inner labia (When I felt it, I though it was my clit until it kind of with the labia).
The first cyst (?) I spoke of really, really hurts when it hits *anything*. If my legs are closed too tight, if my underwear rides up, if my pants are too tight, etc. I'm assuming it'll go away soon, but Jesus it hurts! Is there anything I can do to limit irritation? Or help it along on it's way? And the second knot, what is it? Is that normal? I've never felt it there before ...
