please ANYTHING will help

my boyfriends graduation party is coming up and me and a friend had the great idea to get a really sexy lingire out fit...

but I have two questions

a. what are some really sexy things to wear

b. how exactly do I go about wearing it... like should I wear a sexy outfit fit with the lingire underneath, or change into it...

I've never worn lingire for someone else I guess you could say

any help would be amazing because I'm completely lost on the whole thing

A diet rich in calcium and vitamin D might banish pre-menstrual syndrome (PMS), US researchers believe.

Many women experience mild emotional or physical symptoms before their period, but 20% have more severe symptoms.

Massachusetts University researchers compared the diets of 1,000 women with PMS and 2,000 women without PMS.

Those without PMS tended to eat more vitamin D and calcium-rich foods like milk, cheese, broccoli and cereals, the Archives of Internal Medicine reported.

Hahahaha, ok girls (and boys), here it is in excruciating animated form, in case you still have questions: How You Get Pregnant. It's a little video, not too long and probably not work safe if you don't work AT Planned Parenthood. OMG, I can barely imagine the meeting behind this film! Hope it makes you guys chuckle, since when we're asking stuff in here it's normally about a problem! :D

Anyone have this condition?
I noticed one poster did, not too long ago. I've been experiencing intense, localized pain during sex, and have rarely had entirely painless sex in my entire sexual history. I've been reading up on this condition (WebMD) and i'm afriad this might be what I've got...

I am visiting a doctor tomorrow afternoon (a new one...my old doctor was a complete idiot, and a judgemental uber-conservative jackass to boot. When I told him of my pain during intercourse with my HUSBAND, he looked at me and said "well, you know, there are more important things than sex you can do together". please. )
So, my previous gyno never mentioned this condition to me. Apparently, according to the article, it's only been given attention in the past few years. My question is, if anyone on here has this, how have you dealt with it? Have you found a way to ease the pain of intercourse? Is there a cream somewhere or a pill?

After some particularity lubeless sex Sunday night, during which I became very irritated (inside, not emotionally), something very, very strange happened. I noticed a tiny speck of blood on the sheets, which wasn't even bright red, because it was diffused with other juices, and thought to myself, "Okay, that's fine. I understand why that happened." Now, here comes the weird part. I was in the shower right after, and I peed, and suddenly, the entire shower filled with the same exact smell that you would associate with a skunk! I figured that a skunk had just sprayed outside and thought nothing of it. Then, when I was laying naked on the bed a few minutes later, I put my hand between my vulva and I guess unconsciously smelled my hand, and there it was -- the skunk smell again! Did the irritating sex somehow uncover a gland inside me that skunks also use to produce their spray? This is really weird, because the smell is exactly that of a skunk. It's not like I'm saying, "Oh, it kind of smells vaguely like a skunk." or "This is the closest smell that I can think of to describe my smell." It's like it IS skunk spray. But then why does my pee smell like it?? I noticed this one other time after that when I peed, but the smell seems to have gone away by now. Does anyone have any ideas or similar accounts?? Thank you beautiful people.

Are pregnancy tests from the dollar store less effective in anyone's opinion? I've heard rumors that more women get false negatives when using dollar store brand tests. Any thoughts on this would greatly help me, thanks in advance :o)

I looked in the memories for this, of course, but couldn't find anything particularly relevant.

I posted a couple of weeks ago asking about my local Planned Parenthood, so thanks to everyone who responded. I have an appointment Thursday with a gynecologist and I'll be going on BCP, probably Yasmin, because I would like as low a dose as estrogen as possible, and I've generally heard the best things about it from people.

How long after starting your BCP are you safe from pregnancy? Is it better to wait a couple of days after you begin taking the pills? I'm sure I could just ask my gynecologist, but I'd rather get the information from here.

ETA: Another question. I've heard varying things on this, probably because of the different types of pills. With Yasmin, when are you supposed to start taking the pills?

Okay, I ordered a Diva Cup.
And, I want honest opinions. Has anyone ever had a problem with them AT ALL? Other than having to insert it because I have to learn that on my own because my vagina is different from everyone elses.
But, I just want to know what I'm in for before I actually trust it because my periods are heavy.

TIA!

Hi all,

I'm writing an article for PlannedParenthood.Org called "Ten Steps to Sexual Health," and I'd love to draw on your collective wisdom.

I really like the idea of this article because it acknowledges that being sexually healthy is about more than just using a condom/dental dam/gloves and using birth control if you sleep with men. It's about having a healthy approach to your sexuality.

Here are the tips I have so far, and I'd love for you guys to second them and/or add your own.

--Know yourself: this encompasses both knowing yourself sexually (masturbating, etc.) and knowing what you want in a relationship. What kind of sex is okay with you? What fantasies do you want to try and which don't you? How can you persue your pleasure safely?
--Communicate: Once you know yourself, share yourself with the one you lust after/love--verbally before sexually. When you have sex with your guy/girl, what do you want out of it? Do you want just sex or do you expect a relationship?
--Sex doesn't "just happen." When you're sexually healthy, you make decisions about what's right for you. You enjoy sex when you have it and you don't have it when you don't want it.
--You look after yourself: That means you treat your sex organs the way you do your teeth (uh, not that you brush them, but that you get them checked regularly to make sure everything's good). It also means you decide if you want to get pregnant and plan accordingly. You talk about your sexual history and STD history with your lady/guy love before sex. PP also says that both the guy and the girl ought to be responsible for getting the birth control.

That's what I've got so far. It's funny, because this list paints a picture of someone who's so sexually mature it's crazy. I can certainly say that *I* haven't done all these things all the time, and I'm in my 30s. I imagine this would be a tall order for teens who are just getting to know themselves in the world.

Thoughts?

alright.. i really need some help. My vulva is dying or something. >_<

I dont know why it's doing this.. but ever since my boyfreind fingered me last time, (thanx to you guys, i finally let him! 5 times total. lol.) i've been in pain down there. When he did it, he scratched me the whole way going in.. i felt it. It hurt pretty bad. i told him and he took his fingers out. I really dont think he scratched anything but the inside though. It hurt pretty bad.. It just burned. It felt really hot to. So i went to the bathroom, got my hands wet with cold water, and put a finger up my because i just needed to cool it down. After a while, it felt better, and he fingered me again.. but he didnt scratch me. The next day, and every day since (its been 4 days), around the opening of my vagina, it BURNS. I took a look at it today, and it looks more red than usual everywhere when i open up my inner lips. It doesnt really itch too bad.. just every once in a while.. and i havent really noticed a differnce in smell, color, or thickness of my discharge. So what is going on?? Could it just be from him sratching me? Or could it be a yeast infection? Or could it be something else? >_<

Blah.. someone please help. :\

Nothing to do with vulvas, but hear me out.

I've always been told that veins rise up towards the surface of the skin in warm weather to let off excess heat. Now, only the bottom part of my house is air-conditioned; my computer is upstairs and it is hot as all Hell up there. I also live in a very hot, humid state.

I was upstairs for about 5 hours last night. I went down to brush my hair and go to bed when I noticed something: I could see every blue vein on my body! I have pale skin that always burns then freckles, yes, but I've never been able to see my veins like this. They were bright blue and everywhere. I thought maybe I was delusional, so I closed my eyes.

Opened them.

Nope, still bright blue and sticking out like sore thumbs.

I checked them this morning and the only ones I could see were the ones that are ALWAYS visible. Now I've been upstairs for an hour, and some of the veins are starting to show up again.

What is this? Is this really the heat? Or is there some other reason? And is it bad that they're THAT close to the top of my skin?

a big thanks to all of you fantastic peoples who responded to yesterday's quest for a new vagina nickname, they were all magnificent. and you all made me feel much better about the word cooter too. i'm actually more prone to like it now that i know it's a turtle, not a redneck :)

my vagina shall henceforth be known as VERA!

because when my girlie bits and his boy bits get together, we create Vera Wang.
and boy do i love Vera Wang ;)

thanks again!

so i'm on depo and i have an appt(that i set up a while ago) to see my current gyno next week to get the next shot and get a former yeast situation checked out. here's where a lot of odd problems come in:
#1: next week i will be between jobs because my current job ends tomorrow and my new job starts the 27th. so, i'd like to push getting bc back to the 27th or later because my health care will be much better then and... well i guess i can't go tomorrow. but i don't know the exact range of when i can get a new shot because that little reminder card got lost when my wallet was stolen :-/ sigh. but this doesn't really matter all too much because:
#2: i'd like to switch to the patch because i don't trust depo to not make me depressed. also, i keep getting afraid that i'm pregnant because i don't have that nice menstrual reminder that i'm not. it sucks though, because i otherwise really enjoy not menstruating. anyway, so i need to know the following:
a: when do i need to start using the patch to keep my contraceptives effective?? just before the depo range runs out?
b: can i get a prescription for the patch without getting a new gyno exam? i really hate having to take off work for things like this and i don't know what doctors are covered under my new healthcare yet.
b-1: can i get this from a regular doctor? i got depo from my family doctor once, exam free
b-2: also, how much does it cost without insurance (per month, i guess?)
c: does a patch perscription cover any number of months or a specific amount? i wouldn't mind paying out of pocket for just a few months if i have to get it before my new job starts.
#3: so i suppose some of you are thinking that i should just call my old gyno and find out these things, but i'd really rather not because i'm afraid they're creepy because SHE BROUGHT HER POODLE INTO THE EXAM ROOM. A POODLE SAW MY GIRL STUFF (well i don't know that he was looking). now i like dogs and all, more than the average person even, but this is very shady and i worry that there could be other shady things going on. so i'd really rather just call to cancel and discuss nothing else

my friend was tanning topless and she burned sooo bad. and then her nipples turned green. for only about a day or less, but it was so weird. they were a pale gray-ish green but then they went back to being normal. what the hell happened? i mean, they had probably never seen the sun for more than 10 minutes in their whole life.

Does breast cancer cause pain in the breast as an indicator? I've never heard of such a thing, but I can't get a straight answer anyplace.
[identity profile] sadistic-crayon.livejournal.com
Wondering if I should be worried or not. I'm 17, not sexually active and have weird periods. Doctor hasnt' said anything very useful. I'm young (even though i had 2 years of regular normal periods), I'm vegetarian (even though when i went vego they were normal for a year after) etc etc. I've been offered the pill but as of yet have turned it down.

My periods come late, they come early, they come heavy then they're barely there. But believe it or not this isn't my problem. Occasionally i'll get .. not spotting.. but a 'mini' period about a week after my period stops. It'll be a small, very light period that'll last a day or 2 at most. However this time, I'm getting something really odd happening. A week after my period finished which was a little late and very heavy and painful, I got what i thought was a mid-cycle mini-period. But the blood (sorry this is a tad @_@) is watery - like watered down blood. And it hasn't stopped - 4 days now. Not a huge amount - but enough to be a pain. It's the consistency of this stuff thats making me a little weirded out.

Question is: Should i be worried, go to the doctor etc or should I just assume this is my body being weird again and wait for it to sort itself out?

Anyone experience bleeding immediately following pap smear? I never have, but did today while getting my annual. The OB-GYN said it was normal and I should still have some bleeding into tomorrow, but it was nothing to be nervous about. I, however, don't know the meaning of the words "don't worry" and am freaking out about it, even though she's a good dr. and I trust her (as much as I trust any doctor, anyway). She said I showed no BV or yeast under the microscope... Anyone?

EDIT: I should probably also mention that during this pap smear she used that hard plastic brush instrument, and she said that may be why the bleeding occurred...that perhaps in the past there were just swabs used on me or something, as this is my first pap with her. Thanks everyone.

i was on depo for 4 years and never had this, and i was on birth control pills for march through may and never had this and a week and a half ago started the birth control patch (ortho evra) and omg the pain is unbearable afterwards

Hm, seem to remember that a vinegar bath will cure? or eliminate the itch? from a YI. So, my questions are 1) Does it cure the YI or help the itch & 2) How much vinegar should I add to the tub of water?

Thanks a bunch everyone!!!

Just to confirm something - If I take active pills for, say, 3 months straight, I can stop for a week to have a period, and then start up active pills again, so long as I have at least 21 active pills in a row, correct?

I remember seeing this mentioned on here once, I think, but I don't remember the exact way of it. Basically, I've been using pills to skip my period since April, and I want to let myself bleed now. But if I wait until the end of this pack, I'll be bleeding during a trans-Pacific flight, and that's an uncomfortable experience. So, I want to skip a week NOW, take my last week of active pills from this month's pack, and then go right into next month's pack.

I don't know how clear this is. :) Sorry.

Edit: Forgot to mention, it IS a monophasic pill. Mircette, to be exact. :)

Just as an update in case it helps anyone else with similar symptoms and also another question of sorts...
I went to the doctor regarding the question I posted about here:

http://www.livejournal.com/community/vaginapagina/5388522.html#cutid1

The doctor diagnosed me with a urinary tract infection and a mild case of bacterial vaginosis. My question is can the BV be transferred to my boyfriend since we are sexually active and is there any concerns of us like transmitting it back and forth? I dont think so but I wanted to see if anyone had any more well informed answers. I forgot to ask my doctor. If anyone is interested she is having me do three days of MetroGel creme and put me on Bactrim antibiotics for the UTI. Thanks!

[*warning* begin talk about gyno visit] went to the gyno yesterday....i really do like my doctor....he has a very gentle touch....not all rough and mean like the bitch nice woman i had before *shakes fist menacingly while glaring and bringing at the thought of her unlubed latex glove!*....but i did have to get the forceps(?) for the first time....i think that's what they're called....they look like a duck-bill and expand u....neways....yeah....if ur a guy, or a girl without a vagina, consider urself lucky to never have the necessity to require cold metal instruments to be inserted into ur petals. sorry....had a 'vagina monologues' flash back....great play....everyone should see it! neways....yeah....he said that everything appears normal and i have no abnormal bumps or lumps or growths or nething of that type that he can see with a physical vaginal and breast exam so i'm in the clear until next year. and apparently my own "activities" are/have been suffice to adequately strectch my vagina to a normal length. oh, and i also got a refil of my estrogen scripts to help keep those pesky hot flashes at bay. so, all in all....aside from some general feelings of yuckiness....it was a good visit! [end talk about gyno visit *end warning*]

I shaved myself for the first time a few days ago, and yes much to everyones reviews, i really liked the way it felt and looked but the problem, much like everyone elses problem is the razor burn. it is almost like little pimples down there and they are really painful. i waited a few days [five] and then tried to shave again and apparently that was a horrible idea because all those little bumps opened and BLED! what do i do!?!?! i am really scared!
i know i can count on you all for excellent remedies and support,
thanks so much!

I took ECP yesterday after a condom mishap the previous night. Five minutes ago, I experienced another, even worse condom mishap. Am I covered?

Also, the condom had spermicide, but it doesn't seem like there'd be enough to make a difference.
[identity profile] https://users.livejournal.com/ten-oclock-/
I looked in the memories but couldn't find anything to actually answer my question. If i missed it, please tell me and I'll delete this post.

I shave a bit down there just to clean it up because it, to put it lightly, looks like a jungle. (Off my thighs and a bit off the top of my mound.)

My question: is my gyno going to freak out about the shaving?

Thanks.
