I'm going to be seeing a gynecologist for using birth control for my acne, and since I don't want to walk into the office being totally clueless, I've looked into different types of pills. I've read Diane-35 is really effective for acne, but then another website I read a girl died from using it (?!). So, what I'm asking is for users of Diane-35, how has it affected your complexion, and what were other side-effects of using it?
Of course, if you've used other birth control pills for acne-clearing purposes, I'd be interested in hearing your testimonies as well. Diane-35 is just what I figured I'd bring up with the gynecologist.
Oh, and I hardly ever get periods. I border on being underweight, but I've always been that way and I run cross-country. Will being on birth control override my athleticism and give me regular periods? I'm also kinda freaked out about gaining weight. I'm not even five feet tall, and I notice when my weight fluctuates, and I enjoy my high metabolism. (I'm also a little vain...kthxplz don't eat me).
Thanks for your input!
Edit:
1. I've been menstruating since I was 15, and I'm 17 now. I figured I was done growng. Maybe there's still time for my body to regulate itself?
2. I read that a girl died on the CBC website from blood clotting, which is a risk apparently increased by 4 times more than for users of other birth control pills.
