Conflicting Information

I've come down with bronchitis again, and have been prescribed an antibiotic (this time, Zithromax.) As a habit, I usually ask the doctor and the pharmacist whether or not there are interactions between whatever I've been prescribed and my oral contraceptives.
Frustration occurs though when I get inconsistent information. The doctor today tells me "no" the pharmacists says "yes" and one drug interaction checker says "no" while another says "yes" there is an interaction.
(My habit by the way is to use back up contraception when I'm on an antibiotic.)
I really don't like the inconsistent information-it's distressing. I have the information, and knowledge to make an informed decision, but not everyone does, or would think to ask.)
