What do everyone's orgasms feel like? I know that individual orgasms often differ for one person, so I am asking you to generalize. I'm just interested in knowing if we all get similar sensations.

My standard clitoral orgasm starts out as kind of a localized tickle, then builds. I start to shiver and hold my breath, when I let go to breathe I usually moan or whimper. My clit enlarges with blood and begins to throb, my face reddens and my body temp rises, and then I'm in smooth-sailin ecstacy for about ten seconds. When I come down, I notice my increased heart-rate and my heavy breathing. With a vibrator and showerhead I can usually repeat this process several times, but with each time, the orgasm gets harder to reach and with less intensity.

My vaginal orgasms are not as defined, and for a while I was wondering if they were even orgasms, but this community assured me that they were. With penetration I need deep thrusting. If the penis/dildo is small, I need fast movement, if it's rather large I am okay with slow, deep thrusts. When my G-spot is hit I moan, breathe heavy, and my heart rate is increased, but I do not spasm like I do clitorally. Sometimes I ejaculate, but very rarely with a partner, though I often feel like I am going to. However, there really is no obvious come down like with clitoral stimulation. I believe the scientific term is plateau? There's not much of a plateau.

I'd also like to know if the sensations of a male orgasm are the same as a clitoral orgasm. Any guys on here that would be willing to answer? Or any woman know?

I've asked a question along the lines of why do I have such light periods on my new birth control pill. Answer; it's because there isn't much lining to shed.

Well, this month, all I had to do was wear a pantiliner for two days and that's my "period". Don't get me wrong, it's nice... but I'm still not convinced it's safe. I mean, my body went from 10 day periods to two days of a fricken pantiliner?

Maybe it's just me. I kind of like being able to feel like a girl and use the excuse of "that week". haha And, I'm afriad of getting uterine cancer. It runs in my family.

So, I'm kind of just bitching I guess because I really don't want to go through with switching to a different birth control pill... *sigh*

I started taking the patch (ortho evra) last year to regulate my period. It worked pretty well until the last couple months. I took my patch off on Wednesday. Between the cramps, constant PMS and excruciating breast pain, I just couldn't deal with it. Those are the reasons why I started taking the patch, so I don't know why I suddenly got the symptoms back. I spoke to my parents (my dad's a physician) and they told me to take off my patch and I have an appointment with my gyno for Friday (right after I get home from college). The thing is, without BC I had my period for 3 weeks out of the month. I'm worried that'll happen again and my gyno will try to perscribe a different kind of hormonal birth control for me. I don't want to risk the side effects again, and I don't have PIV sex on a regular basis at all, so I don't see a point to take it. A friend of mine told me I should take vitex, an herbal supplement, to regulate my period instead. Do any of you have any experience with it? Did it work for you? Were there any side effects? Thanks.

Does anyone else find that they have an insane amount of discharge before they get their period? Why does this happen anyway? Mines due tomorrow and its just insane, I thought it was my period.

I think I'm having a hot flash. Is that normal for a 22 year old? My mom said it might be caused by my BC, but the pamphlet doesn't say anything about that as a possible symptom.

i'm a little bit nervous about my periods, but i hate doctors and have never gone for reasons regarding my period/vagina. i had my first period when i was 12 and had been having regular monthly periods since i was 13. for 2 or 3 years its was regular, but then this past year my period has been all out of whack.5 months ago i was waiting for my period when i missed it. i wasnt too concerned cause im not sexually active or anything, so i thought it was just stress. then i missed it again the next month. i was just gonna talk to a doctor about it when it came back 3 months after my first missed period. i thought it had just been stress but it was normal now. but i was supposed to have my period 2 weeks ago and it never came. im concernced that it wont come again for another 3 months, so im wondering if thats healthy or if i should see a doctor about it.

just to explain-im not sexually active, nor have i ever been. im under a normal amount of stress: just schoolwork and stuff, the only changes ive noticed is ive been getting a little bit more discharge than usual.

should i see a doctor and if so should i go immediately or wait another month? or what?

Over the last week there have been many more makeup posts in this community than I have seen in a long time. To me, this is awesome, because makeup and it's implications on feminism is one of my very favorite things to read about.
I consider myself a feminist, but also get lots of flack from my other feminist friends for wearing a full face of makeup every day. Personally, I don't wear makeup to attract men or make myself "look better than" other women, but because I love the creativity and frivolity it allows me during my daily routine. I like the art, I like the skill I've developed, and I love looking different every day (by bringing what is inside out).

I just finished this fabulous book called Fresh Lipstick : Redressing Fashion and Feminism by Linda Scott. When I finished it I immediately thought of this community.

Has anyone else read this? What did you think?

I know that if you have a serious enough eating disorder, it's possible to develop amenhorrea (sp). However, is it possible to lose your period if you are on a birth control pill? Or does it provide enough regulation that it will "overrule" the eating disorder?

Hmm that was stated sort of confusingly...

Thank you!

Alright. So I've gone through google and vagpag.com...
I think I have "Lichen simplex of the vulva," a type of yeast infection. I'm very itchy, red-ish, slightly swollen, and irritated. The only thing is that my skin is peeling too. I had a weird irregular period cycle last month. I would get my period, it would go away for about 2 days, then come back again, and that happened three times, but it's since stopped.
I was/am worried its Chlamydia, but I've never had sex and haven't had skin-to-skin contact with a guy for over 5 months. I also don't get a burning sensation when I urinate or have lower abdominal pain. I could just be super worried about it and imagining the worst.
I would like to go to the gyno, but my mother just wants to pick up an off-the-rack treatment for a yeast infection, since that's what I told her I had.
Is it possible that a non-prescription treatment would do the trick?
I still would like to go to the gyno to have a professional look at it (I'm 18), but I feel like if I insist, my mom will think there's something sketchy going on.
I'm also new to the area, so I don't really know where to look for good gynos.
Support, suggestions, solutions?

Many thanks.
