Vaginal burning, possible scarring?
Mar. 27th, 2016 07:11 pmHi folks. I did something not so smart and now I'm suffering the consequences.
I've been having a recurrent yeast infection for about two years. I used to be able to get rid of yeasties with a dose of OTC and boric acid suppositories. Lately, they haven't been working so I decided to do some research and stumbled upon gentian violet. This stuff is safe for babies, it must be safe for my vagina, right? Well, I added WAY too much of it in a tampon and now I'm feeling this constant burning sensation.
It's been 2 days since I stopped using the gentian violet and now I can see my coochie with a mirror. (The internet wasn't kidding when they said that stuff stains everything.) It looks like I have some sort of rash.
It's silly to ask, but I didn't do any sort of permanent damage like scarring, right? Is this a sign of bv? I've been using ice down there to ease the sensation a bit. Is there anything else that can help?
I've been doing a hydrogen peroxide douche, using boric acid suppositories, and upping the amount of probiotics to rid of my yeast infection. I'm definitely not using gentian violet again.
