vaginapagina | Bright red bleeding (seemingly after sex)

Hello everyone,

I've been experiencing a fair amount of bright red blood after intercourse for about the last week or so. My period ended about 5-ish days before this started. I feel zero pain and I'm always surprised to find us both fairly covered in blood. It doesn't seem to persist after a few hours post-intercourse.

What gives?

(Btw I'm happy to see a doctor, but I'm a PhD student and time is really precious. If it's a normalish or "wait and see" kind of deal, I want to postpone disrupting my schedule.)

More details:

Fwiw my last period was pretty weird in a few ways. I had my usual PMS sore nipple/weepiness but not until the last day of my period + about two or three days (usually it's before/during). I also had egg white cervical mucous the day after my period ended, along with a libido surge, both of which I associate with ovulation, and neither of which tend to happen until the middle of my cycle.

I am about 14 months post-chemotherpy for Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, which left me without a period for about 7 months (resolving approximately one year ago). I've been more or less regular since it resumed (if a bit heavier bleeder/more miserable), but am willing to believe that some remaining abnormalities are possible.

Also, when I was in cancer treatment, they found a benign 3cm cyst on my right ovary. It went away on its own. I had pain in the area during deep penetration the first time I had red blood.
