Hey guys, I was just wondering what types of experiences different people have had with using the NuvaRing as a hormonal form of birth control? I have heard both super positive experiences and relatively negative ones and I am trying to weigh the pros and the cons.

I have had Nexplanon, which is the newer brand of the implant that is inserted into the arm, since August 2015. I absolutely love the overall concept of it (fool proof in terms of protection, lasts for 3 years, don't have to think about or worry about anything) but I unfortunately am pretty much constantly bleeding while on it. I get my period for weeks on end and when it finally ends, it only stops for a few days and then starts back up again. I've tried regulating it with several packs of birth control pills and it works great while I'm using them but as soon as I stop taking them I start bleeding again.

I was on the pill for a few years prior to the implant and I didn't have any problems with it but I'm definitely a big worrier about pregnancy and my long term boyfriend and I don't use condoms so the pill just has too many possibilities of human error for me.

So I guess what I'm asking is have your experiences with the NuvaRing been relatively positive? And the negatives that you have experienced, do they seem more worth it than this constant bleeding?

Thank you so much!
