VP is Now Open!
Mar. 31st, 2015 06:17 pmHi, VPers!
We're happy to announce that, as of this posting, VP on LJ is back open for business!
Our current maintainer team is
rockstarbob,
mangofandango,
frolicnaked,
poppleshatesyou,
kaberett, and
scientivity. We wanted to take a minute to outline some of the steps we've taken and are considering to help make VP a sustainable safe space.
First, we've revised and streamlined our internal structure, including consensus and action policies, to account for our rather smaller team. We're hopeful that this will go a long way in helping us respond more efficiently and effectively to any safer space issues that come to our attention.
Additionally, as some of you offered in this post, we want to let you know that the possibility of hiring additional Safe Space Maintainers is one that remains on the table. However, it's not one that we're going to act on immediately, both because we want to take some time to see how the above-mentioned changes are working (so we get a more complete and accurate idea of our needs going forward) and so that we can tailor our hiring process, if necessary, to best meet those needs. Basically, hiring is a big step, and we want to make sure that when we do it, we do it right. :)
In the meantime, while we remain committed to safer and accountable space, we may not have the immediate capacity for quick response times -- and we want to be really transparent and upfront about that fact. We would love it if, especially in the short-term, y'all would take the time to flag up any concerns in
contact_vp. The more an issue is "up front," so to speak, the sooner and better we'll be able to address it.
Thanks for your understanding on this -- and happy VPing!
