Spotting?

I don't have a normal period. I usually get it every other month. I've been to the gyno, nothing is wrong, that's just how my cycle is.

I've been slightly spotting since Monday. It's like a darkish brown/reddish color, nothing heavy, and this has happened before but not for so many days.

I had sex for the first time again in a few years last Thursday. Could that have anything to do with the spotting? I'm just worried now. My last period was December 30th and ended January 3rd and I haven't gotten my period since. Or does this spotting count as a period?
