Paragard IUD bleeding

So, I got the Paragard IUD last Tuesday. I had to get the copper IUD because I got a blood clot from hormonal BC last year. The insertion wasn't too painful, it felt like really bad cramps. I had bad cramps for the next two days. I bleed as bad as a period for a few days and now it's still spotty brown blood. I'm also getting sharp pains in my right ovary. Is this normal?

Also, I'm not sure how to feel for the strings. What do they feel like?
