Replacing Nexplanon (contraceptive implant)

Hello. I've got a question about replacing my contraceptive implant. I had my first one put in at the beginning of May 2011 and I've been really happy with it. The only problem is that my date to have it replaced is the day after my wedding. The date I was given is exactly three years after it was inserted. As far as I can tell from googling the date I was given is the very latest I can get it changed. Am I cutting it a bit fine if I wait till that date? I really don't want to deal with fresh scars for my wedding if possible but really don't want to risk my contraception coverage being patchy either.
