Hi Ladies...hoping you can help.  About a month ago I started to get a yellow/green discharge and would get pelvic discomfort/achy pain in vagina when standing too long or at the end of the day.  Went to the dr...he assumed it was an std or yeast infection so he gave me a dose of azthromax and anther antibiotic for yeast infections.  The meds didn't really make a difference and low and behold the culture ended up coming back negative.  I started taking probiotics and the discharge subsided but the discomfort did not.  Today the discharge came back after being gone for about a week.  I made another appt for this week but I'm stumped!  Any advice?

Sounds like it could be Bacterial Vaginosis.

Could you be more specific? Did they do just a culture for YI or a full pap/exam and look visually for vaginosis? Antibiotics aren't given for YI - anti-fungals are. Did he give you an anti-fungal or an antibiotic for vaginosis?

I've had BV and YI more times than I care to admit (IUD makes me super prone) and I've never had discomfort from standing for either. Sex irritates, wiping after using the bathroom, not standing. Is the pain actually internal down there or is it more like an unusual menstrual cramp?

It's possible there were/are multiple issues at play. If the probiotics helped, one issue was YI or BV (discharge sounds more like BV) but the discomfort may be something else. Did they check urine for a UTI?

I'm writing as a VP maintainer to remind you that VP is a safe space, and that there are a lot of people in this community who don't identify as "ladies" or "girls", even if they might have similar anatomy to you. In fact, people of many different genders (http://wiki.vaginapagina.com/index.php?title=VaginaPagina_FAQ#Is_VP_for_women_only.3F_Is_it_LGBTQQIA-_and_kink-friendly.3F) read and comment here and we don't want to accidentally leave anyone out so we're trying to encourage posters to use more inclusive language. If you're interested, you can read more about the reasoning in this series of posts (http://community.livejournal.com/contact_vp/tag/language)

This is a friendly reminder to please review VP's policies to help us make VP a nicer place for everyone. You can follow these links for more information:

Please don't think we're scolding you or don't want you here. We issue safe space reminders to help our members acknowledge and include everyone, and to help keep VP a safe space for all. We hope you'll continue to participate in VP with this in mind. Safe space means a lot to many of our members, and it's amazing how much we can help just by being a little more careful with what we say.

If you'd like to talk more, your thoughts are welcome in [livejournal.com profile] contact_vp or via email (vpteam@vaginapagina.com). However, we just ask that you not discuss your reminder in this VP thread, since it would draw attention away from the original post.

Thanks for understanding!
