Fellow VPers,

I write to you with some frustrations.  Over the past 2 years I have been suffering for reoccuring yeast infections (about once a month or once every other month).  I went to the gyno a couple of times and they confirmed both times that I had yeast.  Other times over the phone they confirmed my yeast as well.  The last few times though, I'm not convinced it is yeast.

I have become good about: not using soap down there, changing out of sweaty wet clothes, eating more yogurt, etc, etc, etc, etc.

These last few times around though the discharge seems different I guess.  It has been more boogery than clumpy but still white.  It has also been painful after I wipe, and not so itchy.  Other times during the day I don't notice anything going on down there too much, just when I wipe mostly.  My vaginal entrance area is a bright red as if it is irratated.  I'm currently going through this and don't know what to think/do especially since my gyn is closed on weekends, and this isn't really an emergency.

Any ideas? Is this yeast? Something else?

Thanks guys :)

When you went to the gyno over this, did they take a swab sample to look at under the microscope? Or send it away for lab diagnostics? Sounds like trich to me :( (I had it about six years ago and it went undiagnosed because the RNP didn't look at it under the scope and diagnosed me visually.)

the boogery discharge could also be attributed to where you're at in your cycle (presuming you're not on BC). Get your hands on some Boric Acid for the yeast!!

Boric acid can be used to rebalance the pH in your vagina, so it works well with persistent yeast and bacterial vaginosis. You can buy it in powder form, then get some empty capsules and insert those. Most pharmacies have it and if not you can order it online.

for me the cream never cleared up a YI completely, it would keep it down until it came round to that time in my cycle when my hormones did something funky and back the YI would come. the pill would actually get it to go away, but it would still come back, not as often though. but i was told that if it keeps coming back, there is stronger stuff than the pill that the doctors can try. i just never went back because i have a thing against going to doctors or gynos, so i'd rather just keep buying the pill over the counter. but if you can go back, just say it's not working and press them until they talk about all your options, even the stronger ones.
