Hey superstars!
This isn't an issue or anything (though I nearly thought it was), just an amusing observation + something I don't really share with my friends.

I missed a period last month, and was mildly worried. Not hugely- I'm not majorly regular, was very very stressed, and am completely lesbianing it up so no penises in many years. But it was a niggle. Went on holiday with the gf's parents/sister, had a hell of a time (they are unpleasant individuals who have no clue about the real world) and my second period was late- so by this point I'd missed two. Still stressed, I ignored this.
We got home today, and LITERALLY as soon as I walked in the door, I went to the toilet, and lo and behold, my period. xD It's like my body went "No, no. You deal with this shit first, then I'll start. I'll just give you a break." It made me love my body and my period a little bit more <3 So my question is, have any of you lovelies had a period which was just THE best timed it could possibly be/amusing in it's timing? I'd love to know :3

Had mine show up immediately at the end of an all-weekend fuck-fest once, when it was 3 days late. I was appreciative. I treated it to chocolate as a reward.

I had the complete opposite, actually.
I got my very first period ever as a teen at my grandmother's open casket wake >.< Talk about horrible timing.

This. When I was young AF always showed up just in time for every holiday, vacation, school performance etc. Usually I knew it was coming (so it was like, 'Yay, I get my period on our trip to Florida!' vs something worse) but still. It's like she wouldn't leave me alone.

that has happened to me a few times too. i think our minds have quite the influence over our body subconsciously. consciously we know we are going to be home in so many days time, then the stress will be over... so our body is like: right! time to get organised! this sounds like a time plan we can make happen!

This might be exactly what happened :) Stress hormones can have a significant suppressive effect on your cycle. Evolutionarily speaking, it is pretty energetically demanding to go through an active cycle. Also, if one were a high risk situation (like if predators are around), dribbling large quantities of blood wouldn't be very helpful both in terms of attracting the predators further and draining the resources of the female. So it is advantageous for these things to be delayed in high stress situations. A lot of times the cycle or two following these episodes you might not ovulate, as well.

one time I stayed up later than usual, i wasn't planning on it, but then i went to the bathroom right before finally going to bed, and my period was there. so much better than waking up in my blood.

also, a few months ago, my period came the week before I had to go on a 400 mile car trip with my family. SO HAPPY about that.
