Usually my period occurs between day 26 to day 28, (last month it started on the 3rd Feb) and it's now day 32 and there's no sign of it. This hasn't happened to me before - or at least, in the last 2 years. On Friday and Saturday I experienced cramping and aches in my legs like I would the day before I usually started, and last night I had a headache like I normally get, but nothing has happened.
I'm not sexually active and I'm not taking any birth control. I am a bit stressed out with the start of uni but that's never affected it before. I know that I'm not really that late but since it's not something that I'm used to, I'm a little bit worried.I should probably also say that I've just turned 27. Am I freaking out over nothing? What could be the cause?

Date: 2012-03-05 04:06 am (UTC)If you are 100% positive you are not pregnant, you could try some safe remedies to help it get started. Taking vitamin C can help, and has helped me in the past if I wanted my period to arrive a bit earlier (probably not best practices, but I didn't want to start my period on the first day of vacation!). Some people say to take huge doses, but I am way too timid for that, so I would take maybe 2000 mg. a day or less. Obviously exercise caution. Parsley tea can also be really helpful. Buy fresh parsley, pour boiling water over it and steep it covered for half an hour. Again, read up on it and use caution. I hesitate to recommend anything that could potentially cause harm, BUT both parsley and vitamin C are obviously not very toxic, and I've had success with them before.
I know it's stressful to not know where your period is, but sometimes that just happens to people for no real reason. Here's to hoping it shows up soon!
