So I have a cut almost on the inside of my labia that is quite painful. I noticed it a day or so ago though I don't know how it got there. I've had something like it a year or so ago but it healed and went away after a few days. I woke up this morning though, and realised my period had started today, at least two weeks early, when It usually comes just about on time. Is there any reason for this?? I'm also sick with a cough/sore throat right now if that helps. Could anyone tell me anything about this, cause i'm starting to get a little worried.

have you tried using a&d ointment or neosporin? sometimes that speeds up the healing process. I doubt your period and the cut are related. feel beter! :)

Sometimes cuts can be a symptom of a yeast infection, but if you haven't been having any other symptoms like itching or unusual discharge, this probably isn't likely, but you could take a test at the doctor's to be sure. Sometimes I just get a random cut that's sore for a day or 2 then heals quickly. Like the above poster said, if it were me, I probably wouldn't connect the period coming early to the cut. But if you keep getting cuts you could see a doctor for a yeast test.

As far as your period being earlier than usual, have you been under any additional stress lately? Sometimes that makes my period come crazily early for some reason. Bodies!

Painful genital sore + flu-like symptoms can equal herpes. :(

That isn't a firm diagnosis, but it is a possibility.

*nod* The timing, also, of just before an early period? (Probably an anovulatory cycle, that.) Herpes does sometimes get triggered by the hormonal changes before a bleed. My oral herpes (cold sores) decided to break out shortly before a period, little while back. (Anti-virals are my bestest buddies, aside from ibuprofen!)

I would advise getting it swabbed, both for HSV, and for yeast.

its probably not herpes( i have it). well herpes infections start to break out 2-20 days after initial infection. most of the time they look like ( and feel) like open wounds but the strain that looks like a cut is rare. if you had burning when peeing (cervicitis) followed by the cut actually forming, then yea it could be. if you have oral herpes it wont have anything to do with your vagina and vice versa..
