so i started my first month of lo loestrin fe and i am on the brown pills..the first brown pill(with this bc theres only 2 brown pills) so i should have started my period today..and i know its still early but usually i start my period in the mornings and i haven't started yet. i heard that some women dont get their period on this pill at all but i'm concerned bc i was put on a zpac for strept throat about 2 weeks ago..which if i am correct put me right at ovulation time and while my boyfriend and I didnt have sex while on the antibiotic, we did have sex the night before i was put on it. has anyone not gotten their period with this bc? thanks

My advice is to wait another two to three days, then take a home pregnancy test if your period hasn't started. I think you're probably fine, but it will be good to know for sure that it's just the pill causing you to miss periods (that way you won't freak out every time you miss one).
And don't feel scared about buying a pregnancy test - it's better to know! I've done it a couple of times myself when my period was very light, even when I didn't think there was much of a chance I was pregnant.

Hopefully someone who's taken the same pill will come along with more info - I just wanted to try to offer some reassurance, because I know what pregnancy scares are like!

Date: 2011-12-01 10:17 pm (UTC)This information probably came with your pills. It says that you are protected immediately if you start taking your pills the first day of your period or after seven days if you start at another time. It also says not to bother worrying about pregnancy unless you've missed two bleeds in a row. But even then, it's more likely a side effect of the pill.
There's no rule that your bleed has to start when you're on the placebo pills. It might take your body a few days to figure out what's going on.
