My bladder always feels full and I have to pee several times with not much coming out, much like a UTI but only when I'm nearing my period and sometimes afterwards but mostly right before.  It goes away once I start bleeding.  Any idea why that is?

PS: Won't let me add tags from my phone :/

(No one can tag but moderators; don't worry.)

Might be related to the "PMS poops" -- the hormones that stimulate uterine contractions affect the intestines, speeding things along that way, and if they affect the bladder muscles similarly...

Ohhh, I wondered why I needed to 'go' more at that time of the month!

I used to experience what the OP described, but now you've mentioned hormones I've realised it's pretty much stopped since I got my Implanon.

I guess because it's giving me a constant does of hormones?

Pretty much -- the constant dose may sometimes confuse your system enough that the hormones that trigger ovulation (and then that trigger periods) don't happen on a regular basis. If you've stopped bleeding, mostly, then that would totally explain it.

Yes. I only have a very light bleed every three months or so.

I hadn't heard that explanation before! I just assumed the uterine contractions themselves had a knock-on effect on other organs.

I haven't done a whole lot of research on it, so I could be wrong -- but the intestines and uterus are both full of muscles that do automatic contractions to move things along and out, so it's at least very plausible.

Drink more. As long as you have to pee so often, it might as well be rewarding.
