Is there anything I can do to stop mid cycle spotting and cramping?

Are you on any form of HBC? Or do you have a natural cycle? I know I get a lot of mid cycle spotting and cramping, but it's all ovulation based, so beyond doing something like taking a form of HBC that stops ovulation there isn't really anything I can do. Though I have found that taking B-vitamins helps with the ovulation pains I experience and my menstrual cramps, perhaps taking a B-100 complex would help you as well? I find a heating pad or as I call it "my microwave rice thingy!" helps with cramps a lot too.

I'm not on any form of birthcontrol. I period was very short this month and I wonder if maybe that didn't have anything to do with it. The spotting lasted 2-3 days then stopped and I spotted a tiny bit a day or so later. Does that sound like ovulation?

I noticed in the post previous to this you said (http://vaginapagina.livejournal.com/20259841.html?thread=237261057#t237261057) you were taking a POP, that is a form of birth control, which actually has a very common side effect of spotting, so perhaps your mid cycle spotting is from that? Not to say that it couldn't also be ovulation related, since you can still ovulate on POP's, did you also notice a lot of egg white discharge with your spotting? If so that'd be a really good indication as to where your mid cycle spotting could be stemming from. If you didn't notice an egg white type discharge, my best guess would be it's a side effect from taking a progesterone only pill.

I should clarify that I was on POPs until about 6 months ago.

I noticed comments on previous threads recommend taking 400 IU of Vitamin E daily to decrease flow & cramps. I've had weirdly long spotty periods since I got my Mirena about a year ago and gave this a try 2 months ago. It's worked for me! Plus, I'm pretty sure it's cleared up some of my acne.

is vitamin e in the form of an oil? I wonder if it would be contraindicated with warfarin
