hi, just have a really  quick question because I'm worried. On thursday night I was fingered quite aggressively and deeply and afterwards I bled a lot, I just finished my period on Saturday so I know it wasn't that but the thing is I'm still having some pink spotting today and little traced of blood and I was wondering if that was normal or not considering what happened. Just concerned, any advice or thoughts would be greatly appreciated. I also started taking birth control on Sunday so I'm not sure if that has anything to do with it or not.

It's worth keeping an eye on, but it's probably going to be just fine. The genitals get a lot of blood flow, so even small nicks can bleed a proportionately large amount. The upside of it is because they get a lot of blood flow, cuts or scrapes in that region tend to heal pretty quickly.

Also, yes, starting HBC can cause irregular bleeding and spotting, particularly during the first 1-3 months of use. If you start bleeding a lot again (like, a tampon per hour kinds of a lot), that's a sign to seek prompt medical attention. Other than that though, the bleeding will probably sort itself out on its own -- sooner if it's from fingering, maybe a little later if it's your body adjusting to HBC.

I wouldn't be too concerned about the bleeding if I were you. Having very active penetration of any sort can definitely cause bleeding, plus new birth control can definitely cause bleeding. Those two together? Definitely a possibility.
If it bleeds for longer than another day or two, or if the flow increases, I'd check back in here for advice or call up your doctor. Unless you have a lot of soreness or can identify any rips/tears/bruises, I'd suspect the birth control more than anything else.

(And as just a side note ... it's totally your business and please don't respond if you'd rather not, but was that sexual experience a wanted one for you? I definitely know that one can have consensual rough sex [most definitely] but something about your post made me think to ask that question. If it's anything you'd like to talk about, please don't hesitate to ask for support here, even anonymously. I've found VagPag to be full of really wonderful non-judgmental people with great advice.
And if a good time was had by all, oops! I'd just rather ask than not, ya know?)
